I dont know about other people, but I work 5 & 1/2 days out of the week. Its annoying as hell to lose your thursday! I got used to having a full weekend when I used to work in the US. Saturday and Sunday were off! It was great you could do a lot of things!

And people who work for banks say they work Thursdays too, but then I say “YOU GET SATURDAY OFF!!”. hehehehe! Thursday is the slowest possible day in the week, and there is a status meeting that we have to go to that I find useless! I can email you a report damn it!

Im looking forward to getting off in a few hours. And down with France! I am with Italy! That game was annoying Portugal should have won, they were playing better! Viva La Italy! I shall take the frustrations of work on France. And I still need to finish some reports before the damn meeting! lol

I dont know if anyone else has seen this, but there is a cool new food delivery service. And their cuisine seems to be healthy Italian and some Arabic food.
They look cool, but I havent tried them. They have healthy foods, and they tell you what kind of food is healthy and whats in it. Im going to try this service, and try their Pasta Bolognese. Because right now Im hungry and it sounds good! The menu also has the each item with a little star saying how Calories, Carbs, Fat, and Protien it has per serving which is pretty useful for people who are watching what they eat.

This did the job after being outside for a while roaming around! I wanted something to hit the spot! And damn this did the job, as you can after posting this there is nothing left! hehehe! I call it the gold cone! But there is another type of KDD ice cream which I like more, but I will posting about old school ice cream at a later point! hehe!

After meeting up with some people, I drove off to go to another meeting in Shuweikh! And I was happy was in the landcruiser! I was in the left lane on the fifth ring road coming out of the salmiya area to go shuweikh. And its kind of like there was an earthquake there because the roads are all messed up. Anyways the road became straight and I was following the cars in my lane and then there was this guy on the phone in a camry. He was in the lane next to me, and the whole lane I was in was going around 140kph, and they seemed to be going 100kph next to us. Then the guy decides to turn left so I had barely enough time to cut left. I clipped his left side view mirror which scratched my passenger door. I was pissed, and I was still in the emergency lane, and the guy was looking at me with the phone still stuck to his head. I had to get to meeting, but at the same time I had the urge to get out and beat the living daylight out of this guy! I wanted to stick my foot so far up his ass that he can taste the dirt on my slippers! But I just drove off because the guy was an idiot and I didnt feel like dealing with him and being late for a meeting. Got to the meeting finished up, and I saw my landcruiser. It was cool, only a slight scratch from his car onto my with his sideview mirror ripped off and nothing to my car! hehehe!

I dont know if they also have a PAL system as well, I didnt bother to ask. I was having too much fun looking at the games. And they also sell 3 month and 12 month X-Box Live Subscriptions! Which I think are really cool!!!!

Is it just me or are they not working! Something seems to be up with those cameras, because if they are working I would either be in jail or up to my neck in fines. Because a few times I passed them a little over the speed limit and I thought something was going to get caught. I keep an eye out for the white light to go off but then nothing happens.

So I decided to do some testing the other day. In a car I took off the front license plate and went down the empty highway at around 170Kph. If its going to go off, then it would be now. But again nothing happened, and then I remembered when I was coming back from the TriStar Outing from Benaider I had to be home quick so I was flying between 220Kph and 240Kph whenever the road was empty and none of the cameras took any pictures. It seemed very strange then none of the cameras were work, and I was speeding at night just to check if the camera was taking pictures during the day but without the flash. I think the heat has got to these cameras or they have stopped putting film in it. Its really weird.

And I found a little interesting details, one of our engineers is friends with the guys who put in these cameras and say they cant take a decent picture of car going above 210Kph because its too blurry. I can understand that only if they have a crappy lens. Either that or I have been reallllyyyy lucky.

Please note speeding was only done for testing purposes, this is a disclaimer for who ever might try what I did! 

So I took in my land cruiser to have a quick service done and a few things fix. Because of my little escapades driving in the dirt a few pieces off the roof rack, so I thought they might as well fix it while they were cleaning the filter. I droped of the landcruiser and picked it up later the same day.

When I was driving this lady in the car next to me was shouting into the phone and kept turning left! So I honked… but wait no sound came out! She just kept turning left, so I just had to shift the car down hard to 2nd gear and hope I come out of it without a scratch! Made it! And she still kept turning left and leaned on the car behind me. But by that time I was preoccupied with why my horn wasnt working. I kept pushing it and nothing happened. But by that time I was on my way on.

I took the car in to have the filter cleaned and roof rack fixed, and they were fixed plus the horn wasnt working and the back left brake light was burned out. I found that to be funny and just thought it was my luck. I just thought I would take it in the next day or day after to get it fixed. So it has been two weeks since I have been with no horn in my landcruiser. And let me tell you that it is suicide to drive without a horn in Kuwait! People are oblivious to things around them and on top of that some people just dont care. The horn helps save you sometimes and gets there attention, and I havent learned to be extremely defensive the past week and a half. It feels like your going to battle with a shield only and you forgot your sword and you just have to make do! hehehe! I need to get my horn fixed! I have punched my steering wheel one too many times and I think the air bag is going pop at some point! Its only a matter of time til I get it fixed! hehehe!

Dont write much political posts, because Im not much a political person and I try to follow alot of the candidates but you can only do so much to a degree. Today is Kuwait’s D-Day (WW-II Allied Forces invasion of Germany). We can only hope after these dark times that things will improve. Im getting up early to go take my mother to the women’s voting area, before going with my father later in the day to go to the men’s voting area. And then so much to do today, really a long day today. Going to take my camera with me if possible. Good luck to everyone o inshalla we shall see the results soon.

The concept of working from home, or setting up business from home is a very alien concept. I was thinking about this while I was at work. I would really want to be home right now and who doesnt. I would use Real VNC to do work from home. I thought that would be perfect.

Some of my friends in the states would do work from home instead of going in sometimes if they dont have any meetings I thought that would be ideal. But then I came to the realization that is impossible to do work at home in Kuwait. Most people I know live with their families at home even if they have been working for years. If they stay home and do work, their family will say “oh he isnt working he is just sitting down stairs on the computer and making a few phone calls” and you would get harrassed! Sometimes I try and read emails from work at home, and if Im doing that it seems that it is categorized as a form of entertainment here! lol! They tell me basik le3ib hel computer, it isnt considered work unless you get a serious phone call and your sitting at a desk.

So it seems in my case you cant do work from home, and probably other people’s cases as well! hehehehe!

Since two private companies have taken over the gas stations I hope that there would be some improvement. I always tend to fill up gas on the way home at the Qurtoba gas station. That Qurtoba station turned out to be an Oula gas station. I was hoping with the privatization that things would improve. Even if they painted the gas stations a little or made them more appealing then the way the old ones used to look.

And Im noticing some improvement. When I stopped to fill up gas an asian attendent (maybe philippino)who spoke arabic and english came right to me before I even put the car on park. And so I asked him to fill it up, and while it was being filled up he was wiping down the windows which had waterspots with a clean cloth which I thought is a pretty good service. It didnt cost me anything, but I wanted to tip the guy so I gave him 1KD on top of the gas. I felt bad that he was stuck in the heat too, but maybe they do make good money with the better service. And I see less gas station attendents, there used to be a lot of them running around in one gas station, but now there are a few and they seemed very able.

I dont know what else this privatization will do, but I hope they start improving different services at the gas station.
