MTC Problems...

mtc.jpg

Is it just me or is MTC having some problems. Since a few days before Ramadan I was having problems. I thought they were going to disconnect me again for 1 or 2 KD! I thought they disconnect for anything and thats annoying! So I called them and they told me they are having problems with their 3G and switch my phone back to GSM. And to switch it back in a couple of days. I did that but still there are problems. Like my SMS messages arent going through. And thats in Mishref, Miseela, Bida’a, Rumaitheya, Sabah Al Salem, Bayan Area. Those are the area which I have been affected in.

Anyone else running into these problems.

Surge Protectors...

sp6strip.jpg

The other day I needed another surge protector and I was trying to remember where I got mine from. They are all generic and white, it seemed more of expansion spots for power rather then a surge protector. So I went to the Mishref Co-op only to find it closed so I headed over to the Salwa Sultan Center and I was surprised to see that they had a decent selection. Ranging from 2.5 KD up to 4.5 KD depending on your needs. I took two of each, but I just needed one and I thought I would keep a surplus in the house for anyone who needed one since we didnt have any.

If your looking for something that is more a surge protector then an expansion slot then you should go with the Monster Surge Protectors, and I know they sell them at Centro Electronics. These surge protectors are not cheap for a reason, they range from 40 KD up to 97 KD.

1st Day Recap...

kuwaittowersaerial.jpg

I had plans earlier in the day to go to the gym or go riding since the waether is improving and I wanted to get healthy again. I feel overweight and I realized that I am overweight! hehehe! I was 92 Kg back in June, and now Im 101 Kg. When I saw that I didnt have a bad reaction or anything, but I did have some ice-cream and it was late at night and I didnt real care that much. But I do realize that I need to drop the weight so I will do that. Im crossing my fingers!

Back to the day, I went to work and got stuck in traffic for 55 minutes and got in late to work. Everyone seemed a bit out of it. I had some paperwork to do and check up on some work. By 1pm both me and my co-worker felt like zombies and our brains were shutting down. It was the funniest look, I really didnt feel functional at all.

At 3pm exactly I got in my car and headed home, and on my way home I saw about 4 different accidents just like everybody else. I saw one accident that seemed pretty funny that two taxis bumped each other and they just sat in their car waiting for a police office to come. It look pretty funny, and both of them didnt have a care in the world.

I got home and all that time my headache was getting worse and worse by the minute. I took of my headgear said hello to my mom and laid down on the couch in the living room. We were having futoor at my grand mothers house, so it was a matter of waiting.

Then when we headed out the streets were empty. It was amazing, there was no car on the road. I could count the number of cars in front of me on my hand while I was driving, it was great. When we got there it was almost time to break our fast. So we just waited about 15 mins and prayed before eating. Then I thought I should watch what I eat because I need to go out. That went out the door when I was sitting in front of the food, I ate like my stomach was a bottom-less pit! I ate until I couldnt breath. It felt fantastic! I didnt leave anything on the plate and no food was left on my plate! And Im not a sweets type of guy. I think sweets is a whole meal on its own, I was so stuffed that I couldnt talk and my family was laughing at me. All I could do was sit in my chair and smile.

Then I had to go to my other grand-parents house to say hello to the rest of the family and it was great seeing a lot of people. But I was feeling tired, so after that I decided to head home and relax. I think I will have lebnah sandwich for suhoor, and a cup of yogurt with honey. I was told that its good for you and you wont feel that thirsty the next day.

I hope everyone else had a good first day in Ramadan what ever you did. It seemed there were a lot of motorcycles on the road today. I just hope they arent idiots on the road, or idiots riding the motorcycles.

Chill Weekend...

garoo.jpg

After riding back home I had a good lunch with my mom, thinking that this is going to be one of the last meals I have during the day! hehehe! I like Ramadan because I can get a few more things done during the day, and even if Im hungry I can keep doing what Im doing and think about food later.

After lunch I packed my bag with a few things, and a couple of DVDs getting ready to head out. Called the guys asking if they needed anything from the co-op before I headed over. So I went over and picked up a few things. And head over, and got there in about 40 mins taking my time. When I got there they told me we will be bbqing some burgers, I told them if it isnt fresh beef that I should make the patties with it wont be that good. We watched the first movie from the bunch but wasnt impressed. Then everyone was getting hungry, when the meat came we started bbqing or two of us were while everyone else ate! It was pretty funny, with music playing in the background the weather was amazing.

I was tired from an early day, then the guys started doing different things. Some guys were talking, some were playing cards, and others just running around doing something. I decided to hit the sac early and watch some movies. I watched one movie which wasnt too bad and then I started watching Rome the series again which was amazing! I finished disc 2, and I knew I had to finish it this week! I started it before I left for the states, but then I knew I had to finish it this week! Too much that I need to do! hehehe

I passed out, and got up next morning. Everyone was really lazy since they stayed up. It was funny just relaxing.  Slowly everyone was getting up, and everyone was getting hungry. One of our friends was bringing food from home, so we were waiting for his driver to get here, but like usual he didnt give him the right directions and got lost! It was very funny, but really entertaining! It was a full house and a good get together. After lunch some of us went for a swim and some guys were watching a few movies.

After swimming for an hour and a half I jumped in the shower. After I got out I had the warm fuzzy feeling, and slightly dizzy. It felt good, and so I was heading home cruising at 120 kph not having a care in the world. Just staying in my lane and good music flowing with windows down. That felt amazing with the weather temperature at 34C. It was very nice.

Then I got home and said hello the family, and people seemed busy so I took my Rome DVDs to the basement and continued watching. I wasnt going to have dinner but when I found out it was Ramadan I decided to have some Kabab-Ji and that felt good. That I relaxed with my mom for a few hours and passed out getting ready to go late to work! Nice to be at work at 10:00am.

Ramadan Mubarak...

Ramadan is here now! Everybody’s work schedule has changed to something a little bit easier then before, and everyone will be busy trying to get to family or trying to watch their favorite shows. Its going to be an insane first week for everyone.

Inshalla everyone will have a good time and they will enjoy their shows. I know some people who are going crazy trying to find the timing to their shows, and everybody is asking somebody else. I find that to be pretty funny. Whats going to be very tiresome is going around and saying hello to all the different dewaniyas and family gatherings. Its kind of fun seeing all the people you havent seen for a bit.

I have a very important warning for everybody who will be driving to any place! Every speeding camera is operational and they are making them extremely sensitive. They are also deploying all the mobile camera vehicles at certain locations in and around Kuwait. These vehicles could be white buses, white suzukis, black suzukis, and small vans. Just keep your eye out for vehicles parked on the side that look relatively clean and dont have a flat tire. They are out for blood!
I hope everyone enjoys there Ramadan.

175’000 Plus...

Thats the number of government school students going back to school since saturday. The streets are packed with cars. With only one maid, one child, a driver or mother, or father. Its crazy! They need to employ car poor lanes or change school times! Delay them one hour into the day! Its just becoming crazy these days. Everywhere you go there is traffic for one reason or another! Every way to work there is traffic no matter which route I take! Im just thinking that they should legalize the use of helicopters in Kuwiat at this rate! Anyone else going nuts from traffic!

Damn school timing! And I had a meeting to go to! All the kids with their drivers and maids!

Extreme Garage...

DSC00234.jpg

This place is called Extreme Garage, its run by a young entrepreneur who has good mechanical skills. I found this place through a friend since it came recommended. They work on some nice cars such as SL55, Range Rover Sport, Dodge Ram SRT-10, and they work on normal cars such as Caprice, Nissan Sunny, Toyota Camry, and other vehicles. They install Lift Kits, Drops Kits for many type of vehicles. They also do body work and audio work. They have a very clean garage and extremely well priced. They have some really good people working there, the manager Shaji is a good shop manager, and this shop belongs to a young Kuwaiti guy who also works in the shop at different times. What I like about it is that the owner worked on some cars when I would be passing by sometimes. He really knows what he is doing, and it isnt corporate owned. They will do anything you want them to do, and they will tell you what they cant do. I even saw them painting a jetski. They will show you sample paint work if you ask them to, and they give you qoutes for any damaged vehicle. I saw a mangled up SL 500 and two weeks later it looks brand new, and they did a really nice job with it.

They are located just behind Safat Alghanim, if you exit from fourth ring road and take the exit for Safat Alghanim, you make the U-turn, and then you take the last right before Safat Alghanim and drive down a bit, then the garage will be on your right.

Electrical Reaction...

electrical.jpg

Came home, got a bite to eat. Then suddenly everything went out. I thought that the fuse blew, because I switched on too many things. But it never did that before. And the first thought I had that I didnt have anything on that I needed to save. So I was happy about that. So I got up went over to the fuse box, and everything was point to the right (meaning they were on), so I played around with it a bit, but nothing happen. So I asked if the electricity was out for the whole house they said yes. I called my neighbor on his cell phone, and he was laughing, because he was wondering the same thing as I was calling. Turns out the electricity was out for the area. Then I heard of Nuzha being out as well as Shuweikh, and Rawdah, but at different times yesterday.

The house was still cool, but there was this eerie silence that I never heard before. I was just trying to listen and see if I could here anything, but nothing. It was strange. So I sat down to use the computer again, and not realized there is no electricity. So I picked up my book and magazine went to the living room to chill with my mother, and she was just laughing at me. For the first 5 minutes I was roaming the halls not sure exactly what to do. Because just before the power went out I wanted to play with my PS2. hehehe. I felt very cut off, it is very apparent how electronically dependent I am. I wont deny it! I love electronics, but who isnt these days. Then I realized how much battery I had on my phone, and thinking worst comes to worst I can charge it in my car. I was walking around and thinking what I have running on electricity, but everything seemed fine to me. I just made sure to switch off everything so when the power comes back on it wouldnt be an overload and something burns out. The other thing I was thinking was that the house will get hot after a while, so it was kind of funny sitting in the room with highest chance to get hot. There were other delimas developing in the house, but nothing too crazy. It was just funny though. Then I realized I had my PSP! So I ran over, popped in a new game that I have been too lazy to play, and then bam.. the battery is dead. So my mom laughed at me again, she said she will switch off the electricity one hour a day to see what I do! hehehe

An hour an a half later the electricity came back on, and the first thought that came to my head is INTERNET! hehehehe! But everything went along from there, and the house didnt get that hot. But this is the first time electricity hit us for the summer unlike some of our family when it them at least 7 times this summer and for longer periods.
