Im usually pretty chill when driving these days anywhere. When your just too tired to go flying down the road, even when its time for futoor I take my time. If the prayer is going to sound while Im on the road so be it, thats fine. But there is one thing I tend to fly back home for and thats Freej. I cant stop laughing at the damn show.
Whats great is that they air at 12:20am on Dubait TV the new episode, and then they are the previous night’s episode right after the new one. So two episodes a night, so if you missed a day you can still catch up with it. Each episode is short and sweet, I just wish it was a little longer and I know there is only 15 episodes but I didnt see it from the start so Im happy that at least I could watch a few more episodes that I may have seen.
The Ramadan episode was funny as hell when they were making fun of how people fast, and how people complain about masjids that pray taraweeh too quick or too slow! heheehe! They have hit the spot with some of these stories! hehehe! Hopefully they will be making more episodes and soon, not just for next Ramadan! Um-Khammas is my favorite! She makes me laugh the way she acts! I wish I could get the start as ring tone on my phone! I would only put it for the funny people I know!

The other day I went to the Equipment Company (thats the name) behind BMW in Shuweikh. I had a few things I needed to take care of over there. So next to the heavy duty equipment, lifts, forks, and lamborgini tractor I see a Segway sitting in a corner. Then it turned out they are the ones selling the Segway in Kuwait.
Segway Price: 1350 KD
I was told by the sales guy that they sold a lot to advertising agencies and people taking them to the beach house. They seem to be very entertaining but to my luck this one was out of battery or else I would have tried it. And they are going to bring the new Segway models soon. I think there is an off-road model coming out!

So I just finished praying after hearing the sunset prayer. Then I head over to the table where some of my family members are already seated. We are opening different dishes here and there. Then there was this one dish that wont open. So as I was picking it up with my left hand I was trying to turn the top off with my right hand because I was too impatient and there wasnt any room on the table to place it. Then it popped open and a lot of the daqoos went flying up most of it falling on my left arm (half way the distance to my elbow and to the middle of my palm). It hurt like a $%#*@#$ so I was really quiet I slowly put the dish down, and everyone was looking at me wondering what the hell happened. I went to the bathroom and poured cold cold cold cold water on my arm and that felt good, I was pouring it all over my dishdasha to wipe the daqoos off. There was streaks all over my dishdasha, but at that point it was my arm that got first contact with boiling tomato sauce. Then I went back to the table in my yellow and red dishdasha, and all I could think about was eating. I had bright red left arm! I was laughing because I was just happy I was eating! I was going to eat light, but then because of the arm I decided to stuff myself at least I should feel good for burning my arm! My brother gave me some ointment to put on my arm to help with it. One of the family friends saw my arm and he is a doctor, and put more ointment then some ice and told me its a minor first degree burn. I thought it hurt like a bitch! hehehehe! At least I stuffed myself silly and I used the daqoos thats making type with my wrist not touching the table! looooool! I still love daqoos though!
I know some people dont watch the tv shows during Ramadan, and a lot of people do watch the new tv shows. There is one show which I have been watching every night thanks to Cute UAE for giving me the timing, and that is Freej. I cant recommend this show enough! I keep laughing from all the things they keep doing, and how it shows Dubai in a different light for the first time. It is extremely well done, and the stories well thought out. I really enjoy, and Um Khamaas makes me laugh so hard, and her mom is funny as hell.
The other thing that I noticed about tv during Ramadan is all the cooking oil advertisements, and the perfume advertisements. On MBC, ART, Dubai, and Alrai. There just so many cooking ads and there would be three cooking oil ads all after each other, I find that to be funny as hell.
Update: Freej is on at 12 or 12:30am (Kuwait Time) on Dubai TV.
Chevron not seeking new Kuwait refinery stake
Posted: Friday, September 29, 2006Singapore
Chevron Corp is not pursuing a stake in Kuwait’s new $6 billion, 615,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery, in which the Opec nation has said it will seek foreign investors, a senior company official said on Friday.
Asked whether the US major was interested in buying into the plant, global refining chief Mike Wirth told Reuters: “No, we’re not.”
Kuwait has said it will offer foreign investors up to 40 per cent of the plant, the biggest single newbuild refinery project in the world. It is due to be completed by 2010. -Reuters
Now thats an interesting turn of events. I have no clue what that would exactly mean for there plans, but I never thought a US oil company would ever say no to owning a part of Gulf Oil Refinary.
I was happy thinking Im going to get some sleep last night, but after flipping around in bed until 4am and not getting a wink of sleep. I realized that I could be doing better things! And one of those things was catching up with some anime, since I didnt have much time recently!
First thing I watched was 5 episodes of Naruto and catching up until its realtime speed, then two episodes of Eyeshield 21, and then I started a new series called Zegapain. I was extremelly happy thinking this is probably the best start to the day. Watching multiple hours of anime before going to work, its like taking a big break. Even though I was in denial knowing that not getting any sleep was going to have a bad affect on me, but I thought it was better then getting up tired.
I got up after a while of enjoyment to take a nice shower and getting ready for work. I was even happy that I didnt have to fill the Landcruiser with gas since I did that last night. I finished up and got into the Landcruiser and I left very early for work. Thinking at least I could avoid some traffic, which was the case to a certain degree. When I got to work, I answered some of the emails that I saw, and I was happy as things were moving a long quickly. Now that its later in the day I can feel my head getting heavier and its going to be a long day! Since I still have to go to a family futoor, and on top of that I have to go to the family dewaneya. Im going to do all that with a smile! hehehe! Insomnia, no possible better timing! And yes Im thirsty as hell! hehehe!
I got up today feeling relaxed and catching up with some well needed rest! I wanted to watch some anime last night, but I was only able to watch one episode of Naruto. And that made me feel good, and I woke up with my laptop still on, and I could hear my nephew roaming the halls. So I was feeling good! I got up and showered, and then I found my door open and he was coming in looking for me! This was probably the best start to a day that I could ever have! He was looking towards my bed and thought that I was hiding somewhere, but then he turned around when I called him from the bathroom area and he smiled. Sometimes I wish I could just read a baby’s mind! It would be entertaining as hell! Because they do as they please with no regards to what others may say! hehehe!
Futoor was good, and it hit the spot it was nice having it at home and relaxing with the family. And I was bouncing around the hallways and other rooms with my nephew since he wanted to do that. I dont watch that many arabic shows, but my family does so I watched what they watch but I always have a motorcycle magazine with me and maybe my laptop. It was nice and chill, but I knew I had to be at the dewaneya to be part of the welcoming party for the family. You just have to do what you have to do. And I did, and on my home I saw that it was 10:30pm and I was thinking to myself that it feels tired. I might watch some Rome in the basement, but thats about it nothing more. Dont feel like going out.
This is just rediculous! It took 45 mins for me to get from Shamiya to Mishref because of the damn traffic! At 11:00pm! I just finished up with a family event and Im tired from this day, and a long day at work. So my feet were feeling all tingly! I know I needed a break!
It was bumper to bumper traffic and I left at 10:50pm and got home at 11:30pm. I went after prayer to one of the phone shops looking for a headset that I love the Jabra BT 500, I remember seeing it a couple of weeks ago. And then I went from shop to shop, every telephone shop in Khalid Bin Waleed Street, and I couldnt find it. I drive a manual so I need a head piece! The funny part is that since I have been hitting the curb so much the past couple of weeks to find parking, my car pull right and I know it needs an alignment but I have been too lazy. No parking and no time has led to this!
On my way back home I was so tired I was too lazy to take off everytime! I had to shift to first take my foot of the clutch and slowly let out. I know I was driving the guy behind me nuts, but traffic wasnt going anywhere! I dont think I passed 40 kph, and he seemed to be getting restless behind me! I was even slouched in my car, and when I was slowly getting closer I was smiling, thinking that I that much closer to hitting the sac. Im just happy that I can sleep in a bit tommorow. I know I will probably ride tommorow as soon I get up!
Sometimes pause is a good thing! I was flying about yesterday making sure to get a few things done.
I help a friend take a look at an extremely nice Harley Davidson since that is what he was looking for,and it was cutting it close to futoor. And I was on my bike too so I flew back home, and I was enjoying the ride. And like usual there is a line of cars parked on the road in Mishref, and a police with his lights on parked on the other side. I was in a hurry so I was flying down and pretty much didnt care what the guy was going to do.
Then I parked the bike cleaned it up real quick, wiped my helmet down and put everything back in the closet. Flew up stairs took a quick shower and changed into a dishdasha. And was heading out to my family’s house for futoor. The roads were empty it was fantastic, we got there and everyone was eating. I sat down and grubbed. I felt that my brain was slowing down. It was great seeing family, and towards the end of the night they brought my nephew. And he was in shock and just looking around at other people, and people were talking some kids were crying. It was sensory shock for him, but after a bit he held out his hands and wanted me to carry him. It was pretty funny.
Then everyone was going their seperate ways. I headed home, and relaxed and some of my friends were coming over later in the evening. It was pretty chill. I was playing around with my Infrant NV while I was waiting, but I ran into problems which I will deal with at a later point.
Then I went down and I was playing with the XBox 360 while I was waiting for my friends to show up. And I was enjoying myself when they made me stop playing. hehehe! We watched a movie and laughing about he was doing what. And how Ramadan has thrown our schedule out the window, then we had some za’atar, cheese sandwichs, small pizzas, laham bil ajeen (meat sandwich), kubbah, and samboosak. We watched a pretty good movie it was good night. For some reason I stayed up pretty late so getting up for work was a little difficult! hehehe!
A friend of mine just wen through this whole mess. He was stopped by police and taken to police station and held there because there was a hold from the Ministry of Interior. Even though he paid his bills a few days ago, and thing is he wasnt stopped at the airport. He was stopped by a police officer and held at the police station, he took his civil ID number to find out that he had a hold on his record, and he owed money. But he already paid it and the MOI didnt remove the request to bring him in.
So he was taken in for no reason. A friend of ours went to check the bill at the payment at the airport at 2:30am, and they are supposed to close at 3:00am, but it turned out the system was down at 2:00am so my friend had to wait until 6:30am to get a piece of paper from the bills department saying that he doesnt owe anything and the MOI made a huge mistake.
So now the police check if you owe anything and they will take you in, if you didnt pay your bills. Whatever government type bills you may owe. Even a house phone bill, water bill, electricity bill, and especially traffic fines. So keep this in mind people, and the MOI made a huge mistake that they still had the request for him to be brought in even though he paid all his bills.
I have to say that I was laughing my head off. And one of our friends was running around in the morning, he didnt get much rest and he had to wait until they reopened. He didnt get to work until 12:30pm.
