Its funny seeing the different times that bloggers post or comment at. I pretty cover the whole day except from 2 am to 6 am. You get some bloggers from 6am – 11am, then 12pm to 3pm. Then from 4pm to 7pm very few people online. Then another wave of people again from 7pm to 1am. I just started noticing this trend since Ramadan started, but usually its just all through out the day. Just something that popped into my head the other day.
Since my last delivery of items I havent had that many issues with what was going on with customs, but right now I do have one issue which was the big tes. The three guys above are my security team that get any packages delayed by customs.
I will see what will happen today. I just saw the update today, so I shall see what it will take to clear the DVDs, and Im willing to pay the extra 15 or 20 KD because of the amounts of DVDs. So I will keep you guys posted of what is happening.
Update – My dvds will be held for at least two days, it will take that long to clear them. And we shall see if they even manage to get them out without them taking any dvds.
I went to Safat Alghanim because a friend of mine told me they increased their line of TVs and there were some good deals. So I thought I would check it out. I was looking at 1080p capable plasma or lcd. I just wanted to see what they had. When I got there they had a really good selection.
Toshiba LCD 47″
Price: 1290 KD after Discount
Sony LCD Bravia 46″
Price: 1200 KD after Discount
But it sells on Amazon for 642KD, and if you get if from the most expensive online retailer its still 872KD. So you could say its overpriced, but cheaper then Sony in Kuwait. Too bad arent all the TVs arent 240V and PAL & NTSC. I would have ordered it from online a long time ago. But now there is a good selection of 1080ps at the Safat Alghanim. I do recommend the 37″ 1080 Toshiba LCD.
I was surprised when I was walking around that they now had Monster Cables, Cowoon, and Archos. They just seem to be increasing their product diversity more and more. Eureka seems to be aiming more for home appliances and Safat Alghanim seems to bring more and more electronics. Compared to online prices it is more, but its still good that they are diversifying their products. I was walking around their for a while. The one thing I dont understand is why are their arent any high quality laptops. The options are pretty limited, but they do have a very diverse amount of point and shoot cameras.
On my way to work this morning there are a lot of cars dropping kids to school and less going to work since it was so damn early. At an intersection just before passing over the Malik Fahad Highway there were a lot of cars in all directions, but coming from the left side cars were almost done and it was supposed to change lights. Then suddenly a car came flying out trying to make a left before the light changes. This guy turned so hard left that his back spun to the right and he was going straight to the traffic light. I tought he was going ot hit the car with mother and kid in it, stopped at the other lane in the intersection. Im that blue squarish thing in the horrible picture that I made in paint real quick. I wanted to take a picture, but I was in shock from what I just saw. What an idiot. Then the Indian driver stepped out of the car, and a kid stepped out of the right side of the car. I called 777 and it took them a bit to answer the call, the guy sounded like he didnt feel like answering. I told the them the street intersection, and the kid was calling someone too. The driver was a complete idiot, and it didnt look like anyone was hurt since they were walking around the car fine. Now there is one stop light missing thats going to remain missing for a couple of months or maybe years. And the front right side of the car is completely screwed up. I think it was a white camery or something.
When I was driving to work thursday morning I couldnt believe how pleasent it was. The road was empty and I was enjoying my ride. Then I tought it seems nobody is going to work on thursdays. This is the second thursday where the road was extremely empty and the drive enjoyable. Then it came to my realization that nobody seems to be going to work on thursdays, every thursday the road is empty durin Ramadan. I dont mind at this point, but only one thursday left.
After this long week I just wanted some time to enjoy myself. Friday is my day to relax with my friends even though I have work thursday. And this thursday is probably the busiest, but I didnt care I just wanted to clear my mind of everything work related or required for me to think. I wanted to just chill and enjoy myself. I got my hands on some Krispy Kreme, I not sure how exactly but I saw it at home when I got back from futoor and decided to take it. And when my friends saw it, people complained that it has too much calories but they still kept eating. It was a good time to start off. I wish others could have made it, but they had their own reasons for not making it, hopefully next time.
Me and my friend started off by playing some Halo 2 while waiting for the others to arrive. And he wanted to challenge me and I told him he is out of his mind. Im pretty good at Halo I know there are those who are better out there, but I have yet to meet one in Kuwait. Only time will tell, but after winning 25-1 we decided to play a Co-op game which turned out to be more fun.
Then when more people showed up we watch two pretty good movies and got some kubah, samboosak, mini-pizzas, mini-za’atar sandwichs, mini-cheese sandwichs, and labnah all over the place. It was pretty light and we were all just laughing at some of the parts in the movie. People coming and people going, but we managed to finish two movies and it was a relaxing night, even though I know I have to be up at 7 am I dont care. I enjoyed the night and its 1:30am. Aaah Goodtimes! Ramadan Mubarak people! Smile today is a good day!
I just got back home at 11:30pm, and I have to be at work tommorow at 8:30am to check on things. So I thought I would reward myself and really didnt care about calories or what I should or shouldnt eat. So I went to my stash in the freezer and found my KDD ice cream, and it never looked so could. But after eating it I felt damn good. But work is going to be a bitch tommorow.
Those saying that work during Ramadan arent really working! Work is supposed to be from 10 am until 3pm, and I know its shorter then some companies but that isnt really the case. I came into to work this morning around 9 am knowing I have a lot to do, and I didnt leave work today until 5:08 pm and getting to the front door of my house at exactly 5:26pm at the same time I could hear the call for prayer. Im just relaxing a bit before I have to be back at work around 8:30pm. Its one hell of a day!
Its like my battery ran out, and Im still getting energy from some where, where I dont know. I suddenly got another surge of energy around 4:30pm just going nuts! Some people stayed and some people left. I want to rest, but I know I cant! Its just one of those days! hehehe! At least when I was driving back there was no traffic what so ever! And in the morning you have to get up rediculously early to get to work on time or at time you want! Thats not including being obligated to go to the qabgahs(late dinner) every night of this week. Its been insane, Im lacking sleeping and at some meetings I felt my head was all fuzzy even though I was typing notes of what I wanted to do! What a day! This Friday some rest shall be needed, but I do want to go riding, but not tonight Im just too drained!
I couldnt have said it any better then it has been said in the article from Hilaliya about the Soccer game between Kuwait and Brazil. I havent seen that many people happy all at once since the 25th and 26th of February in Kuwait in the early 90s. Where every seemed to be so happy, and Kuwait was simple and people were kind. I recommend just reading the article. That night there was a good feeling in Kuwait, people were happy.

I have been hearing stories left and right for the past three weeks about customs in Kuwait. At this point I want to test the waters and see whats going to happen. I was told that it would cost 15 KD to clear even one dvd or ten dvds.
So I just recently ordered 20 dvds from amazon, and they are of a different combination. A lot is anime, some movies, and some series. Also included in that mix is some electronics, to be exact a different kind of router, not Pre-N or Draft-N, just something reliable with a high gain antenna.
Im going to post about my experience with customs or if anything does happen. As of today I just recieved one anime series box, and one hard drive which I couldnt find in Kuwait and nothing was held. So hopefully there wont be any problems. But I keep hearing otherwise.
