I went to a friend’s Milcha (male wedding ceremony) today, and I remembered how tired the groom, father of the groom, and father of the bride get because they stay standing for over 3-4 hours shaking hands of people who want to congratulate them. Its hectic to say the least, and its great seeing some old friends and seeing friends that you just spoke to 5 minutes ago. You just keep seeing more and more people, there are some people who I havent seen in over 6 years so it was great just finding them again and talking about old things. I just think that traditional Kuwaiti milchas are great because they bring friends and family together! Its hilarious when they were trying to take the groom’s picture with his friends since people were physically harrasing him in the background. Really enjoyable time, but the humidity and heat was making it impossible to sit down you had to keep moving. I tried staying in the informal area, but after a while I went to the formal area to realize the A/C was working in that are and wasnt working in ours! I could smell the good shawarma and all the other good dishes but I decided not to eat anything because I knew I wanted to go the gym!
I think they should rename the Toyota Landcruiser to the Toyota Tank. This vehicle can really take a beating! Since we didnt have a chance to get into the water during eid it was pretty windy and decently humid so we decided to go ahead with other activities. Two ATVs and two SUVs into some relaly fun sand dunes. I have been driving back and forth to Fahaheel to fill up the fridge with all sorts of goodies, and I went back and forth while the Landcruiser’s fuel gauge said empty! This car keeps going and going non stop, makes the Energizer Bunny look lazy! I took some dunes like it was straight, I think my friend hurt his neck when he hit the roof… twice! hehehehe! It was like going back 6 years to some teen shinanigans! And we helped out some people who got stuck in some sand! It was a good time! I love building up vehicles to become purpose built off-road machines! A silver car always hides all the sand all over it! hehehe! Nothing a high pressure hose couldnt solve!
Everytime I even think of a new years resolution I know Im not even really going to go through with it completely! So I decided to come up with the Eid Resolution, since the next Eid is coming up pretty quick, and I should at least do something that is possible! My goal is to go to the gym at least twice a week for next few months. I know this is going to be hard to stick to, but I will try to up it up to three times a week. I gained weight during Ramadan, but I lost some weight during the 10 day period of non-stop work since I had to eat light to go back to work at night. But other then that I gained weight, and after getting on my bike the other day I felt a bit heavier then usual. After all the times people have been telling that I have gained wieght, I pretty much dont care but when I got on my bike and felt a bit heavey I knew I had to hit the gym! That was the last straw! And now that Ramdan is over I now I have some regular time back! Enough to do a few things here and there! And one of those things is going to the gym on a regular basis!
This was the first time I have seen something like this. I was visiting my uncle in Julai’a for eid since I didnt get a chance to see him in the city. He is located pretty close to the naval base there, and I have been there a lot before and I havent seen anything like this before. The US military were having a trainging session, and its the first time I see Military Hovercrafts, I dont even know what they do with them. These machines were at least 2 kilometers away from the chalet, and even though we were inside the chalet those things were loud as hell. It really was rediculously loud, we could hear them inside clearly. And when they were coming back there was a vibrating hum in the air. For the size of those things, they could move pretty damn fast, and the water was really wavey because of the wind but it had no affect on these monstrous hovercrafts. Now I want to pilot one of them!
This awesome I have been trying to figure this out for a while now, and at last I have figured how to hook it up. With the bluetooth on my laptop I am able to connect to the internet.

The images come up a bit distorted though, but at least I could see all the text clearly and make a few posts. I just wanted to try it out. With the GPRS connection you pay I think 9KD for unlimited downloads, so Im going to abuse it. But I think they are going to do something underhanded because its MTC!
I went to Biella for the first time today at Marina Cresent. Its located on the second floor above starbucks. Its Italian cuisine we were walking around with no specific place in mind and so we decided to eat at this place. There was a decent amount of people, first off the menu is pretty good and the service was good as well. The food was another issue. I have to say when it comes to Italian food I have very high standards so I might be a bit critical of this place. The calamari had way too much crust on it, the tomato sauce was good, but it felt unhealthy just eating it. I had the lasagne which was pretty good, but still something was missing in the taste. The was salad was ok, nothing really special about it. The place itself had a huge problem, they have horrible insulation, so even if you were eating inside you would be sweating like crazy. There were only certain parts of the restaurants that had good air conditioning, but I kept ordering cold seven up, which helped. The service was good and the food was pretty good, but nothing special. I wouldnt go back any time soon though.

I was having a blast yesterday! Even though I woke up at 5:30am to go to Eid prayer, I felt great! Everywhere I was going took me 5 mins! No problems to here or there! I want back and forth between family! I kept giving all these kids different amounts based on how closely related they were to me! And some kids who were so freaking adorable I couldnt resist buying their love! The money that went away was more the well worth it because it made these little kids so happy that they were bouncing around like no other. Some of my cousin’s kids who are really adorable I cant help wanting to take them with me home! After driving around for hours and visitng family I needed something cold for a break! So I remembered that starbucks is open! My Eideeya is probably the best in Kuwait! Empty streets left and right, and get a nice cold Tazoberry in this nice heat! Gotta love Eid! When everyone leaves Kuwait I want to stay! And yes I got a doughnut! I just needed one to go with the Tazoberry!
That is what I call Ramadan after I realized what I kept eating! Nobody feels like fish during Ramadan for some reason, and if you feel like it then they look at you as if something is wrong. They tell you not to eat fish because it will make you thirsty but by that point your already drinking and eating, so that statement really didnt make sense to me. But almost everyday I would be eating some form of chicken or another! It was fantastic, and I would eat until I was completely stuffed! The orange dish is mathrooba which mashed chicked and rice, tastes heavenly. And the white/yogurt dish is shishbarak, dont ask me what it is because I dont know! All I know is that it tastes damn good! And of course the chicken dish is Machboos Chicken. The cornerstone of putting me to sleep at 7pm! hehehe
Ramadan.. the Month of the Chicken!
3eedkum Embaarak! I hope everyone has an enjoyable eid. Its going to be interesting to see, since its going to be the first eid I have had in Kuwait for a long time. I used to just call up everyone, but now I have to go from house to house! Gonna try finishing it up the first day. No plans to be doing anything at this point, I might be going to my cousins place a lot and catching up on a lot of tv with him.
This seems to be an on going battle!
My package arrived since last saturday and it has been on hold at customs, but today there has been some progress.
Battle 1: ME vs. Customs
Winner: ME
Battle 2: ME vs. Customs
Winner: Still to be Decided
They asked for my civil ID which we sent, and I managed to get some of my DVDs, and my Buffalo Router. So there is still a good chunk of DVDs that they have! At least I could watch some of the anime I wanted, but this is just getting rediculous! Its going to be another 10 days since no work is going to be done during Eid! They need to have schedueles where peopel schedule holidays! Not the whole damn government taking the time off! Its rediculous!
