There is something very strange with ths weather these days! I dont mind cold, hot, or wet weather but I can’t stand sand storms. The thing is it doesn’t have much use and its really annoying. The weather these days keeps changing and I don’t know if its going to rain, be hot, windy or anything else.
I have wanted to ride my motorcycle for the past two weeks, and as soon as I get up its dusty as hell or its raining or very windy. So then I can’t ride my bike in comfort because of these adverse weather conditions. It makes it annoying to go out because you keep seeing that it isn’t sunny outside and you don’t feel like it.
My Qnet connection was down for a few hours so I didn’t have access to anything and I couldn’t check all that I wanted during the late hours of the night. And its the only time I get to chill in front of the computer to catch up on posts and read other blogs and places. I wonder what is going on, but I was having issues and my ISP DSL was showing no connection to the internet.
I performed all the regular reseting, pinging, and all kinds of steps but nothing worked. So I walked away for a while and then it came back.
I had another meeting in Shuweikh and I was close by to Sun City so I decided to pass by Sony Electronics. I prefer going their because their isn’t much traffic in that area and I was two minutes away. I saw that they had the new 52 inch Sony LCD which has been out for 8 months in Kuwait.
Sony KDL-52XBR2 52″ Bravia XBR 1080p LCD HDTV
Price: 2339 KD
US Retail Price in KD: 1460 KD
Sony KDL-46XBR2 46″ Bravia XBR 1080p LCD HDTV
Price: 1590 KD
US Retail Price in KD: 963 KD
I really think that the 52″ Screen is amazing but the price difference is unwarranted, when I confronted them about it they said its priced by the “mother company” and the Kuwait Agency can’t change the prices. I thought that it was great that they were lying from the start, and the funny part is that I knew more about the product then they did. I said it would be cheaper if I went to Dubai and picked it up and shipped it to Kuwait, and another salesman jumped in and said there would be no warranty, and I mentioned that I’m buying Sony not Wansa. I’m just getting very frustrated with being blantantly ripped off!

Is it just me or has the internet been slow the past couple of days?
At work the internet is so slow I go away from my PC for a 5 to 10 minutes to let pages load because Im going to go nuts sitting in front of my screen waiting for things to load. It took 9 minutes to download an email with a 1MB attachment. I wanted to go to the network room and kick the routers and switches to convince them go faster.
At home I have had some issues with the speed as well, but not as much as work. It has been like this for a couple of days now and its driving me up the wall because I need information or to send an email and its slowing me down. I hope this gets resolved soon, I thought we were done with the whole fiasco during the summer.
I have arrived in Kuwait and I have a lot to write about! Too much, I had so much fun I want to share it with everyone, but right now Im so dizzy and tired that I really need to get some sleep. A couple of hours of sleep will do the job. I was surprised to find it raining in Kuwait, and it was foggy as hell when we were landing. I didn’t know we touched the ground until the plane shook.
I went home changed and went to work to get a few things done, by around 1:00pm I felt that my head was about to fall off of my body! I needed to get some food in me as well, but I needed sleep more then food. So I will crash for a few hours then get a bite to eat! Nice to be back home, but it was a nice business trip too.

The desert is a beautiful place! We went to a bunch of our friends at a Mokhayam (Camp grounds) which they setup a couple of days before Eid. This was the first day of the year going to our friends mokhayam for lunch. 1/1/2007. I have to say that day was a beautiful day, it was cold and sunny with a cold breeze. I was driving my landcruiser with some good music, and then when we had to turn to the sand area with no roads I drove that SUV like a rally car! It was a lot of fun!
I have to say that camping does take a good amount of preparation, and the guys have a really good job of organizing the whole thing. They even put up a volleyball net, but it was too damn cold to play. Some people brought their buggies, I got on a yamaha Banshee for the first time in a while and I remembered why I enjoyed that machine so much. Flying around in the sand it was a fantastic experience! I really enjoyed it riding in the dirt! There was also some skeet shooting going on, and they even had this machine which would launch the discs. I have to say that the guys took care of all the necessary activities. And there was a nice hot duwa in the middle of the main khaymah (tent) which they were using to make the tea and that was some damn good tea. They showed me a little gadget which is used to get the temperature and other weather details and the lowest it had was 0 degrees on 31/12/2006. It must have been damn cold on other nights as well.

It was a bit of slow day at work, I was just finishing up paper work and emails but because of how messed up my sleeping patterns were I only got about 1.5 hours of sleep for work. I got in at 8:00am and then I was on top of all the paperwork I wanted to finish up. The work was a skeleton crew, and I was running around asking people for information that I needed, and it didn’t feel like a holiday at that point. Lots of people were still around and it was good getting back into the rhythm but I think the real storm will Saturday.
So after finishing up all I needed I felt my head was spinning from lack of sleep, and there was no use for me to stay so I left an hour early and got home by 3:00pm. After chilling with family for a bit I decided to hit the sack for a little while. I wasn’t hungry I just wanted to pass out, so I put on some anime to get comfortable and then I passed out from 4:30pm until 8:00pm and I had dinner/lunch around 9:00pm while again watching some anime. For a Wednesday night it was pretty damn good and comfortable. I was chilling down stairs watching all the anime I wanted in the most comfortable dishdashat noom that I have! It was fantastic, I was lazy and loving it. I really didn’t feel like moving, but I know I need to get back into the rhythm of the gym this coming week. I feel good about it, and this long nap fixed me for the rest of the month.
