After the nice ride I decided to head over to my cousin’s place to watch some Jericho. I keep hearing that its a great show and I had about 22 episodes of it, except for episode 7, I can’t seem to find episode 7! So I burned 5 episodes onto DVD and I headed over to my cousin’s house a little later then usual. I went straigt to the basement and got everything ready, my cousin wasn’t in his usual place.
He came down after a little bit and we started watching, and of course had our usual Orange Sherbert as we were watching. Later in the evening my other cousin decided to join us for dinner and he started watching Jericho with us. I was happy he was adhering to the rules of no talking, and it didn’t help that I was being a little … physical.. with whoever was distrupting the show, zero tolerance. I got them both hooked on Jericho, its a great show and they should have another season, it has a bit of Lost in it where you aren’t sure of everyone there and your trying to piece everything together but its much better in my opinion.
So what exactly happened:
Two months ago a speeding camera too a picture of me going 145 kph in a 120 kph highway on the way to the airport. I thought no problem I’m only a little over, so no real problem.
I had to do a few things to change the registration of vehicle into my name, then there was this obstacle of a hold. Online it said I had a 20 KD fine for going over the speed limit by 20 kph. I thought no problem but it turns out because I had a previous speeding ticket from over 8 months ago they gave me two points and I had to have my license revoked for two months.
That is just ridiculous, they give out points whenever they want and I didn’t even know the point system they mentioned back in September is in place. I don’t know why they don’t just increase the fine, I honestly try to avoid the cameras so that I don’t pay too much. Putting these suspensions is stupid, I’m still going to drive, its not really going to stop anyone. But fines which stop your work and personal fines getting processed then you are going to pay and not get into too much trouble.
After a little tugging and pulling here and there I got it cleared without getting my license pulled, but the whole run around is just ridiculous!
They have a stupid system and its pointless!
I have passed by Cosmo Bowling in Shuweikh almost a thousand times now, and this was the first we decide to go there after work. I have no clue what it looks like on the inside and I didn’t mind going with my coworkers. So we headed over there, and I have to say its really nice on the inside. I haven’t been bowling since 1996 and I know my skills in bowling are probably no better then a two year olds throwing skills.
Its really good since its only 2 KD per person and you can have a lot of people on one lane, and each game is 10 times to bowl all on the computer. The names we decided to go with can’t be mentioned because they were very inappropriate but they were hilarious. We played two games, and we were laughing like crazy, some of the guys were really competitive.
My consistency in bowling was ZERO!!! I was sometimes get a strike (or X as I would call it) and sometimes I would hit the gutter, aiming was possible at some points but at other points I couldn’t hit the pins for the life of me! I was enjoying it, and I think I fouled a few times, but thats what the computer told me. It was a good time, and you could see families, friends, coworkers and all kinds of people playing. Its worth a visit if you haven’t been there!

I passed by my cousin’s Dewaneya like every saturday, always looking forward to it at the end of the day! This time I decided to take my time and not show up at 8:00pm instead I showed up at 9:00pm and I’m happy I wasn’t the first person there. I have been annoying my cousin about his unfashionably late arrivals at this dewaneya, I think after a few years he has gotten a bit of the hint!
This night was a very good night, for the first time I wasn’t feeling sleepy by 10pm, its probably because I slept early! We were only a few guys eating dinner but just as we were finishing more and more people showed up and it was fun. Conversations flying left and right, covering multiple topics, and a good amount of fun. I wish I could stay longer but having to wake up early is a killer. Always good to go to a dewaneya with a good bunch of guys.
So this time when I saw the Cake I decided to make some space for it since last time I didn’t have my take of the cake and it just disappeared when I felt like having a bite from it. This friday they brought it with them and I have found out some information and I hope its useful to some people, you guys will still have to search for it.
The cake is from Sugar and Spice in Shuweikh, I think the residential area not the industrial.
The cake tasted amazing, and the filling was perfect, I just want to keep eating it with that tasty chocolate taste and filling! The thing is I don’t have a sweet tooth but damn this cake is too damn good! Who cares about presentation, I just want to jump head-in into this cake!
There is no real explanation that I could come up with this morning for this sandstorm. I woke up at 6 am planning to ride for at least 1.5 hours before going to work and just enjoying the day. I woke up and opened the curtains, when I saw what it looked like outside I checked my watch to make sure I didn’t wake up too early. Everything looked dark orange from my window and all hopes of me riding today literally went out the window. So I decided to watch some anime since I was up and entertain myself for an interesting day at work. When I was about to leave I felt that Toyota has already tested the Landcruiser in these types of conditions and I was completely confident in the vehicle, for some reason I think they tested the vehicle inside a volcano before putting in production.
My plan today is simple, burn a couple of DVDs of Friday Night Lights, Prison Break, and Sleeper Cell and then head over to my cousin’s place to torment him. I’m hoping he has something good to eat today as well!
Torrent Spy is one of the largest torrent search engines online, and I think a lot of people use it. What is driving me nuts now is that Qualitynet has decided to block it as it blocks Torrentz and some other Bit Torrent sites. This is getting rediculous, this isn’t a mistake and I think everyone should shoot them an email giving them an opinion of what they are doing.
From what I have heard since a lot of people download from torrents that might use protocols and equipment to strangle the downloads of torrents only and leave the rest of your surfing alone. This is getting very real, and they might stop torrent usage since it is eating up their bandwidth and it seems they might not be making enough profit since we are using the bandwidth we are being charged for, and we are being charge a huge amount. I hope everyone spreads the word and shoots them an email.

I have to say that I really enjoy going to Boots in London because I know exactly what I want and I pick it up. I have been lazy the past couple of weeks since my supply of bathroom things are running low, and I needed some more items. So while I was at the avenues I picked up some FCUK Body Wash, Gillete Doedrant, Crest Toothpaste, and FCUK face wash. I’m happy I found everything in one place, I also picked up some Tylenol Extra and Advil from Boots which I was surprised they had since its an American brand. I don’t know why but I found it really funny that they were selling condoms, I never thought they would just have it on a shelf like that!
The shop is 80% woman’s things and 10% men’s things, and 10% other! Its worth passing by because they do have a few good things, but unlike the boots in london they dont have as much medical items as the original. Its nice to find everything in one place though.
For the first time I have been to Avenues since it open, I took my mother there to check it out and see what all the fuss is about. First off its very spacious and there seems to be a lot of parking and different points to enter it. This is only Phase 1 based on what I understand but its still pretty big and they have only opened about 60% of the shops in Phase 1 so more and more will be opening.
I have to say that it is pretty disappointing for a mall of that size, the food court is really small, but you do have some choices. The shops are mostly catering to women and specifically clothing, jewellery and accessories. I have to say that its missing a lot of shops which would make it more interesting to go there. The problem is that there are no media shops what so ever, so there no reason to stop and read anything. I wish once they would open a large bookstore, and all it would sell was books, that would be very nice. Overall I think the mall is overhyped and needs some more work, and they need to diversify the types of shops they have. It also takes another 10 – 15 minutes to drive out of there because it seems they didn’t decide to clearly state how to exit, and if there is any traffic you will be stuck there for a while underground.
