The TV Show Wrap Up 2012...

As of lately remaining at home for over a week I managed to catch up with a lot of shows, a very serious list and started watching some other shows and most of them are pretty good.

Shows I Love:

  • The Walking Dead – Season 3 topped all the other ones, can’t wait it for to continue in February
  • Elementary – Loving the Modern take on Sherlock Holmes
  • Go On – Loving the new Mathew Perry show
  • Scandal – This show just pulls you in
  • Homeland – It just got more complex
  • Revolution – Its getting itneresting
  • Arrow – Its more serious superhero then the usual WB Shows, I like it
  • Last Resort – It may be cancelled but I’m going to watch it until the end, its a bad ass show
  • Blue Bloods – Love This Show!
  • Grimm – Its getting interesting, and the Monsters are coming out

Shows I Like

  • Chicago Fire – Very cool Firefighter show
  • Animal Practice – Fun easy comedy
  • See Dad Run – Pretty good show from Scott Baio the 80s Super Star, brings back memories, and also starring Mark Curry from Hanging with Mr Cooper
  • The New Normal – Fun Comedy show about a very abnormal family
  • Suburgatory – Fun comedy
  • The Mentalist – This season is just a bit slow for me, but I still like it

Comedies I Love

  • The Big Bang Theory – Best Comedy Show Out there!
  • Modern Family – 2nd Best Comedy Show!!! Tough one with these two!
  • Parks & Recreation – Love this show
  • The Office – This season is better then the last, looks like they want to go out with a bang
  • Two & A Half Men – This season is even funnier
  • 2 Broke Girls – Still Funny
  • Whitney – This season is funnier
Transformers Prime – Epic...

Since being incapacitated I have just had a chance to catch up with Transformers Prime, I had a marathon and I was like a kid eating candy watching this show. Volume set to high and the Subwoofer set to shake the building, every damn episode got better and better. Every episode for the last 10 episodes of season 2 just kept getting better and better. I like that there is a serious tone in this show, Megatron is a real bad guy, not just a funny cartoon evil guy and he does win at times, and Prime is play by Peter Cullin, the same original voice from the original 80s Transformers. Over the past two seasons they have more then proven that there is a depth to the characters and it is targeting both a young audience and those who remember it from the 80s, I don’t feel like I’m watching a kids show because I really get caught up in it and this season was just over the top.

Towards the end things took a more intense twist and the battles got more intense and for once it didn’t revolve around the humans, the Autobots and Decepticons kept going at each other to find the final items. If you are even remotely a Transformers fan, this show is a must watch, it doesn’t disappoint at all and the ending is just over the top, I don’t know what they are planning for the third season I just hope they keep up this pace.

Damn TV Cancellations! Last Resort &...

Last Resort was turning into a very interesting story, it was getting complex, but shows making the US Government don’t really survive very easily, look at Jericho, people got annoyed with the concept and it got cancelled even with a loyal fan base that follows it. And this one couldn’t be cooler, they had nuclear weapons aimed at Washington DC just to buy time so that they uncover the truth and where the corruption lay within the government that got them in these circumstances. I hope they play out the show and it has some sort of ending with the episodes left.

666 Park Avenue was on the edge of horror and a bit of magic, the story didn’t play out fully and we are only at the 7th episode but looks like ABC will play out all 13 episodes. I honestly expected this one to last, I’m annoyed that this was cancelled. It had potential to develop into a deeper story but at this point they really

The Walking Dead – Epic Show...

This show is in it’s third season, and it has received a lot of well deserved praise, and nothing has been able to match it on the zombie type of shows. The third season has turned out to be even better then the first and second season combined. I watch a lot of shows one of the few shows that have moved me is 24, and now after this past week’s episode I almost shed a tear, it was intense. This show is damn good and if you aren’t watching it then you are really missing out, I love a good scare a night.

Black Dynamite...

Like the movie, the show is predominantly a parody of and tribute to blaxploitation cinema. The show continues the story of Black Dynamite and his crew of Bullhorn, Cream Corn, and Honey Bee as they engage in dangerous and over-the-top misadventures sometimes involving African-American stars ex: Michael Jackson (back when he was part of the Jackson 5), O. J. Simpson, Richard Pryor, Mr. T and other famous people like Elvis Presley, as well as Black Dynamite’s recurring arch-nemesis President Richard Nixon (the main villain from the film). This show also makes references to the original Black Dynamite movie, such as Fiendish Dr. Wu as the leader of a group of ninjas; however, the show seems to follow its own continuity; as some characters from the film who were killed off are alive in the series.

This is one over the top ridiculous animated tv shows I have seen in a while, insults of every kind flying everywhere. They took the movie and took it to another level, with the style of 70s and some great humor they really made this show hilarious especially with Black Dynamite. This isn’t meant for kids, this is directed to adults and you can tell when you watch it. The idea of an orphanage and whorehouse being the same business is just ridiculous, its what Black Dynamite calls his Whorphanage, and it just gets more ridiculous from there, it is offensive on a lot of levels and I love that about the show. Its just over the top animated fun of the R-rated kind, its just 10 episodes but I hope they bring it back again.

DC Nation: Bat Man Of Shanghai...

Produced by Chinese animation studio Wolf Smoke (also responsible for the awesome and NSFW Kung Fu Cooking Girls), this three part adventure transports Catwoman, Bane and the Caped Crusader himself back to Shanghai in 1930 for an all-out battle of thievery and mystical kung fu, and if you haven’t seen it, you’re in luck.

DC Nation Shorts are pretty cool and they came up with this, I think it would look pretty good as a full animation not just a short. I love how they brought Batman to the 1930s, and to watch these youtube shorts start from top to bottom to develop the story the right way.

Thundercats – Cancelled???!??...

A day after TNI ran a story about ThunderCats still possibly being on the loose, it now appears that the cage doors have slammed shut on this cartoon reboot. The show’s art director, Dan Norton, has claimed the following on Facebook: “Let me just say, nobody is working on TCats. It would take years to get it back on tv if we started today. Draw your own conclusion.”

The conclusion everybody seems to be drawing? That ThunderCats’ second life is over. While the news has yet to be confirmed by an official press release, Norton’s statement would seem fairly telling. However, others optimistically believe that the show is going forward without Norton and some staff since neither Bandai nor Cartoon Network has officially acknowledged a cancellation (and, in fact, the last official comment involved trying to work the show into Cartoon Network’s schedule).

Please No!! Come on, I was so happy they brought back an 80s cartoon and did it so well. We all grew up watching it and loving it, and we still love it even when the cartoon is a bit childish from the 80s, it carried a spirit and heroism that we could relate to. What I loved about the new animation is that they kept the spirit of the original animation yet they made the story more complex and did an amazing job of telling, more character development and depth, and a lot of morality was brought into it, something that I wasn’t expecting. The end of the season was so good I couldn’t wait for season 2, but it seems that no anouncement has been made and it was left of the Cartoon Network line up, please bring it back, we love the show.

Summer TV Wrap Up...

Newsroom

The unexpected Aaron Sorkin TV Show which caused some drama, a controversial drama about a news studio and its people, with the main news anchor as the main character. This is one very intense show that pulls you in from the first few episodes, I ended up waiting at the edge from week to week to watch the show. It takes shot at every political party, trying to put the truth out and ruffling a lot of feathers and it just keeps getting better and better. For a summer show its amazing, I can’t believe that it is only 10 episodes and we are going to have to wait until next summer to watch where this is going.

<

Suits

The second season turned out to be even more intense then the first one, and honestly I didn’t think that they could do better. Harvey was in a battle for his life in some of these cases as well as within the firm. Mike as usual was the genius that helped piece things together with him. The characters get more intertwined and it was a hell of a season with every episode worth watching. i just can’t get enough of Mike as a smart ass, its fun seeing his genius play out in the show. If you haven’t seen Suits then you are really missing out.

Franklin & Bash

These guys just do it again, keeping things funny and interesting in Enfeld & Daniels. This time around they take a more direct roll within the firm and things get a little more crazy with Franklin’s father tries to take over the firm. The season finale was funny, these guys make for a fantastic combination and Pendy there assistant is just hilarious. Its annoying that we have to wait so long for this comedy to come back

Falling Skies

Season 2 just took one hell of a twist, they made it through, they got deeper into the fight against the aliens. The 2nd Mass start hitting them where it hurts, they make progress to find their base or the new capital. The story gets more complex and even more interesting then last season with the introduction of the overlords, you get to see some intense battles new alien weapons are introduced and they are disgusting. Just as they take the fit to them, the season finale was one hell of a cliffhanger, I can’t wait for next season luckily the show was renewed for another season from 2nd episode of season 2

Friends Gag Reel...

This show is by far one of my top ten favorite shows of all time, I still love watching it, it never gets old. The funny part is that I still haven’t finished Season 10 and its been 8 years since the show ended, I loved these guys and seeing this Gag Reel brings back memories when we used to wait for the season release and get it on VHS from whoever is coming back from London and when I started watching the show religiously when I lived in the States.
