We got to Dubai!
The Olympic Airlines looked like a 20 yearold chewed up version of Jazeera! I paid the price of damn Sri Lanka Airline not Jazeera! The funny part in the Airplane the flight attendents didnt speak except a few words of English and half the time I had no clue what they were saying! But I didnt care! I just wanted to get there!
I was just happy our bags came with us to the Dubai, I was expecting them not to be there and I was ready to get pissed! But I was very happy when I saw our bags!
But its all good! I got out, the car came. I told the driver he will get a huge tip if he will get us there in under 15 mins! And he flew! And he also breaked like crazy for all the damn cameras! There are a TON of cameras in Dubai every damn 100 meters!
We got here! Check in after they got all the paperwork from us! We came into the room! Ordered some food! I got a burger because I was damn hungry! And I was to sleep with a full stomach, and dont care about the health ramifications! At some point I think my friend wanted to strangle me because I wouldnt let him sleep and kept laughing! We were both losing it after this long day! But we got here!
Food soon, and watching tv! Then pass out until the meeting!
OK this has gotten rediculous! our flight was supposed to be on Sri Lanka Airlines to Dubai at 7:11pm! Its 11:15pm right now, and they have just switched us to Olympus airlines at 12:20am which I have no clue what the hell airline that is.. but Im still going!
I want to kick someone’s ass! Im going to get compensation gauranteed! When I thought I was going to board the flight they said someone pressed the boarding button by mistake! So I went back to the lounge!
Sri Lanka Airlines is partly owned and managed by Emirates Airlines! My friend is in a daze! I have the mobile number to the station manager whom I shouted at a bit.. but I shall do more shouting later! When I reach Dubai! On whatever this Olympus airlines is!
Update: Some couple cant get on the flight transfer because they have to continue to other flights… so this honeymooning couple are pissed as hell! Cant blame them, but they cant really shout.. they sound pretty pathetic, they dont know how to argue.
Update II: At this point, we are past the sleepy point and reached the delirious point! We are laughing at random people, and calling random people up on the cell phone! This sucks as a start of a trip! I hope no one goes through this!
This isnt the best start to a trip. The flight has been delayed two hours. At least we are sitting in the Pearl Lounge waiting for the flight to come in so we can leave already!
It isnt bad, but I wasnt expecting it to be late though! I was looking forward to checking in and passing out!
The one thing that did annoy me but Im happy their flight left are these kids who wouldnt stop screaming, and their parents not doing anything about it! They would keep running around like the damn energizer bunny. I wanted to trip one of them! Im happy their flight wasnt with us! That way I would have to rip what little hair I have on my shaved head!
Update: Plane is preboarding now, and time to go soon!
Got a quick to trip to dubai for a few days, gonna take a ton of pics!
Going with a friend and hopefully is going to be a good time! A little work during the day, then free time! I want to eat a ton of food, go to a couple of movies, and see the shopping malls! Want to see how much electronics are there now, and I want to go check out the dealerships there!
Its true.. everything is true!!!!
The first feeling you get when you walk into their lounge is great. I thought I was in an Austin Powers movie. I got used to British Airways for years. I have never flown on Virgin Airlines so I thought I would inform people of how great they are. The lounge has a modern 70s look to it. There is a saloon for men and women, a business center, and a massage area. Of course they had a huge bar with waiters flying around all over the place with cocktails, martinees, and some coffee. The funny part is that it was 8 am and people want to drink!
The atmosphere and ambience in the lounge was amazing. The lounge is located in Terminal 3 in Heathrow Airport. The type of people that are in the lounge are different then most places I have seen. Usually I feel like I am the one who is underdressed and messy. This time I felt that most everyone was like that or wearing funky clothing.
I was in Upper Business Class which is pretty cool, you can take off with the plane seat leaned back all the way because of the way its built. Its different then any other airline design I have seen. The seat slides down to recline only to a certain degree, and their screens are large and comfortable to watch. Its a touch screen system with video on demand! On you can choose any movie and it will automatically start. Everyone was always in a very good mood, and I felt like I was sitting in a Rolling Stones Magazine!
The one thing I didnt know that came to be true was that there was a masseuse! I couldnt believe and she came to me after asking people if they wanted a massage. When she asked me if i wanted a massage I said of course, but I was wondering how it was going to happen. She gave me a choice between back, hand, and foot massage. I asked for the back massage, because I thought it would be the best. So when it became my turn to have the massage I was extremely happy about it. So there was a stool that I sat on, and she proceeded to give the massage. It wasnt bad for a massage but I its better then nothing.
I went back to my seat, and got the food which was good. It wasnt amazing, but it wasnt half as bad as some of the food that I have had on some airlines. So I had my food, and I watched a movie and I still had a decent 7 hours before landing in Los Angeles. So I decided to go to sleep. So go to sleep I had to get up and press a button at front and the chair would flip over to turn into a completely flat bed which was decently comfortable for a plane. I got a down comforter and I off to sleep I went.
After a good nap I woke up for lunch which was also good. I just needed a little stretch. The plane landed without any complications. And I managed to go through US immigrations without any problems so I was happy. The US customs officer was Lebanese so he was speaking to me in Arabic, and kept asking me if I brought sweets that I had to declare. Well I didnt bring any sweets but he kept asking. So I told him next time I will bring some for him! And then he stopped asking and laughed. The one thing that wasnt good was that they lost one of my bags, which was the only bad part. Thats why I give them a 3.5 out of 5 instead of 4 out of 5. And the ticket is quite costly, so that was one part that i think needs to be worked on. And now Virgin Airlines are flying out of Dubai to all their other loactions through London.

We will fly again to Beirut
that’s a promise!
Jazeera Airways would like to update you on the current situation in Lebanon and its impact on our flights to and from Beirut. Following the closure of Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BIA), we have re-routed our Beirut flights to Damascus and since then we have been engaged in a massive airlift of evacuees to Kuwait.
In the past five days we have flown 18 flights to Syria and airlifted over 2500 people to Kuwait. We welcomed every person and every family with a ticket to Kuwait, regardless of the issuing airline, and even accepted people with no tickets at all. And none of these efforts could have been done without the strong coordination with the Kuwait Embassies in Syria and Lebanon, Directorate General of Civil Aviation in Kuwait and the Syrian civil aviation authorities, and for that we thank them.
We will continue to fly to Damascus, operating as many flights as required until July 19, 2006, and that date may be extended if more people still need to be evacuated.
Affected Travelers
This only affects travelers to and from Beirut; Jazeera Airways operations into and out of Kuwait International Airport to other destinations continue to operate as normal. We are closely monitoring the situation in Lebanon and look forward to resuming our flights to Beirut as soon as possible. However, that will happen only after we are completely sure that our travelers and crew will be absolutely safe. In the meantime, we assure you that we are doing everything possible to ensure the least amount of inconvenience to travelers as a result of the turbulent situation in Lebanon, and the resulting closure of the airport.
Compensation
All travelers with bookings to Beirut will have the full amount credited with Jazeera Airways automatically. They can use this credit to fly to any Jazeera Airways destination anytime within one year, or until July 17, 2007, whichever comes earlier. As an additional measure of appreciation and care for our concerned customers, they will also enjoy a 10% discount on their next flight with Jazeera Airways.
Or they can choose a full refund with no deductions.
To claim their refund, they must send an email to <helpdesk@jazeeraairways.com> quoting traveler name/s, reservation no. and amount paid; or call 177 with the same details; or approach the Jazeera Airways Ticket Desk at the airport.
• If they paid by cash, they will receive a cheque after 7 days
• If they paid by Credit/K-Net Card, their account will be credited within 15 days
• If they used a travel agent, they must contact him/her directly
Jazeera Airways is an airline that understands, cares for, and protects its customers from the repercussions of unforeseen emergency situations. It is always our endeavor to help make things easier – even in difficult situations such as the present one – so that your experience with Jazeera Airways remains consistently empowering.
We will fly back to Beirut.
Now this is good service.Â
For those who dont know I thought I would spread the word. British Airways is decreasing the maximum weight size of a per passenger. I know there are some specifics depending on each class, but Im not sure about it.
Right now you can check in a bag with a maximum of 32 Kgs, and if it goes over you have to take it out. They wont let you check it with more then 32Kgs. From October 2006 they want to set the maximum at 23Kgs. That is very light and I dont think it is very reasonable. They say its for health reasons, but before you could check bags in that were 40 or even 50 Kgs so I could understand lowering it 32Kgs, but 23Kgs is very light for a bag and that means you have to use more then one or two bags if your traveling for a while. What will honeymooners do!! The charges will be insane!
And they are also specifying the exact size of the hand bag you can take inside the plane with you. More details could be found at the link.

Since I was in New York for a bit I wanted to go see the new Apple Store. And I was lucky, by chance I was there for the opening, but I thought I would avoid the lines and go a few days later! It is one of the most unique stores I have seen. Your going underground, but you dont feel like your underground. And at the time I was there the elevator got stuck with the people in it so I couldnt even use the cool looking elevator!
I dont have any apple products, but damn that MacBook looked good! And they were selling a lot of them, but the problem is the price they charge for upgrading! I was thinking of getting the black MacBook and upgrading the ram, but they wanted to charge 300 for an upgrade to 1 Gig Ram! I thought that was rediculous, but still it was hard not to buy the MacBook!! The Matt Black MacBook just looked so cool! And the place was huge! I just playing around with different Macs, and enjoying the atmosphere! You could hear music bouncing around in every direction and every type of music! Sometimes you feel the ground shake from some of the sound system that people were buying! And the lines at the cashiers were crazy! You have to wait a while to buy something! And I havent ever seen so many accessories in one place! It was huge! And all the apple people flying all over the place answering questions, and there was an area in the back called the genius bar if I remember correctly and they were working on the apple products and I think explaining to people how to use different things! Now thats an Apple Store!! If your ever in New York City then its really worth a visit! Pictures are worth a thousand words so I got a lot pictures!!
To say this place was packed is an understatement!
New York traffic Cop!! Had to take a picture of him!
Im going to run across the street and tackle everyone! Im so close to the Apple Cube!!!

Some people love it, and some people really dont like it. I really enjoy london and feel like its my second home sometimes. And sometimes its just too damn cold! But this cold was a nice change pace compared to the weather in Kuwait. On the temperature gauge outside it says 2C! But feels like -10 C!!
When I first arrived it was sunny and cold in a nice crispy way. But after walking around for a little while I was looking for warmth anywhere! lol! I forgot my scarf in my bag when I left the hotel, so I have light sweater and a light jacket which werent close to enough to keep me warm. And on top of that on the way to the hotel there were some portests! They blocked off so many damn streets! I was going nuts because were goin around in circles in the taxi cab. Didnt I mention I love the London Black Cab. I think the London Black Cab is the best form of transportation in a tight city like london, even if your traveling long distances it so damn comfortable and just popping in a mp3 player is cool! When I sitting in the back I kept drifting off and looking outside which felt cool. And I really enjoy looking at the creative ads on the buses and billboards in london!
Going back to walking outside. At one point I thought both my ears froze and fell off. I really couldnt feel them anymore. But I managed to pick up a lot of motorcycle magazines because they are nuts about motorcycles in the UK! And I went to my favorite Chinese place called: Phoenix off of Baker Street. Now thats a good chinese place! Dont tell me Peacock or those restaurants in Kuwait. It felt good to be stuffing myself! And after I was done eating I seriously felt warmer! And of course during my walk around and sitting in the back of the taxi I was taking pictures!!
I do love london! And I do enjoy the bookstores and the movie theaters there!!
The Protests!!! They blocked half the roads in the west end of london! I wasnt sure what it was about, but there was a lot of hippies and I could smell some funny stuff in the air! hehe
Some pics walking around and in the taxi! I do love the ads on the side of the buses!
That was one of the best trips I have had in a long time!!!
I will be posting alot the next couple of days! Just so anyone who is curious knows, I went to California for two days of work and a nice two week break to spend with my friends living there! And I have a lot of pictures to post! There are so many that I have to post them! Especially the ones of the drive!
The weather there was 40% sunny and 60% rain, I spent a day and a half in Los Angeles and then two weeks in Santa Clara, which is 30 miles (50Km) south of San Francisco. I had a hell of a time! I didnt realize how much I missed my friends! And it was good catching up! Anyways I will be posting the whole travel story for you guys!
And I have reviews of movies, airlines, products, and so much more!
