London Arrival...

It was just right. As soon as I got on the plane I really didn’t feel like eating even though I was hungry. I just wanted to pass out, so as soon as the plane was tilting up and none of the flight attendents were looking I tilted the seat all the way back and proceeded to sleep. I woke up a few hours later and I decided to get some paperwork done on the plane and watch some anime as soon as I am done with my work.

The plane was packed with people, and after watching a good amount of anime and then the captain said we are going to land soon. To my pleasent surprise we were 45 minutes early to London, but we were delayed on the ground for about 20 mins to find a gate which isn’t too bad.

As soon as I got off the plane I start walking really fast to get to immigrations because I didn’t know if their were a lot of people or a little. And it turned out the place was packed! I had to choose either left or right, and based on my formulas and intuition I choose left! At that moment in time you mark somebody in the other line and keep comparing yourself to him and hoping that you move faster! Its like the slowest race possible, but it is extremely intense and you look at him with full blown competitiveness. My formulas and intuition proved me right at the end! It was great!

I think I love London Taxi cabs! I was so happy to see one when I was outside, people tell me its expensive, but you feel like you are riding with the best possible driver in the world! I really was enjoying myself sitting in the back with my mp3 player playing along and looking out the window while jotting down a few notes of things that I need to be on top of! I got to the hotel, and its pretty nice with floor to ceiling windows! I dropped my things and went walking around town. I know London pretty well and I have to say that I love walking around! I went into Waterstones and I already marked 4 books that I want to buy, and then I passed by Virgin, and I walked down Bond street window shopping at all the high boutiques thinking off gifts for different family members! Then towards the end of the day I forgot that I didn’t get a bite to eat. So I went to small cozy looking place and I had my magazines with me that I bought from the Newstand down the road. I had to make sure I eat enough so I can get some work done before passing out. Got a lot of work tomorrow.

Prepping For Take-off...

BritishAirwaystakeoff.jpg

I put all the essentials in my hand bag which I checked with BAA that it will be allowed on the plane. I also put a few things to keep me warm while in London, but I can’t really imagine it being colder then Kuwait, but it is raining a bit from what I heard and I check online. Why does it have to rain! Rain annoys me since I wanted to see if I had chance to go test ride a bike or two while in London! I’m at the pearl lounge and there is a Kuwaiti actor that I have no clue whats his name, but all I know is that he isn’t funny. Aside from that I hope my bag gets to London, I keep hearing from people the British Airways keep misplacing bags these days!

The Essentials:

  • Passport
  • Petty Cash
  • Credit Cards
  • Ticket
  • Laptop
  • Music
  • Anime
  • Work Documents
  • Cell Phone Chips
  • Mp3 player
  • Camera

A few people already gave me rasonable lists to get from London, which I like since now I can plan my days without too much disruption. The first I will purchase in London is Season 5 of 24. And I will buying a lot of Bike gear since in London they do have a lot of Bike Gear available. I can’t wait to try on some jackets, boots, gloves, helmets, and a lot more. I’m crossing my fingers for no delays! I have plans! Big plans!

Short Tasks...

londonbg4.jpg

Its just the bunch of things that you do before going somewhere for a bit. I thought to myself what do I want to make sure I get done before going. And I remember that I wanted to get a haircut, and I’m happy I did, it has been a couple of weeks since I got a shave and my head shaved and damn it felt good.

A few other things that came into mind is to pack light, and make a list of the essentials. I also have new songs on my mp3 player so no problem there.  I went and got some petty cash with me, and its enough for tipping and getting me around in the cab. I am going to try the Virgin LimoBikes and let you guys know how it is! I can’t wait to try them, I know its raining a bit in London I just really hope that it stops raining!

I want to pick a lot of DVDs and books, and some cloths. Then lets see what else I need to get from the UK!

Impromptu Trip...

heathrow.jpg

I have an unplanned business trip to London for some work. Its going to be interesting, I’m just going for about 3.5 days, and I’m just busy during the day and I know some people there. So its going to be an interesting trip. I was just about to order some items from amazon, but instead now I’m just going to pick it up when I go to HMV, Waterstones, Virgin, and all the other places there. I haven’t done any shopping since May so I think its a decent time to pick up a few things. I’m the type of guy to buy a bunch of things one go when it comes to clothing so thats what I’m going to do.

The one thing I love about London is the food! So much good food! Italian and Chinese is going to be my concentration, and I will force who ever is going to be going out with me to those places. And I really hope there are no problems with British Airways at this point, I will probably pass out on the plane too since I have my hands full over the next day to get things wrapped up. I know I have a UK vodaphone chip, but I need to find it.

Important Note:

I made sure changes were made for the meetings since I wanted to make sure that I would be back home in time to watch Jack Bauer’s Premiere.

Review: T-Tech Pulse Wheeled Duffle...

This is one fantastic bag that I have been using for the past year. I didn’t expect to use it as much as I do, its very useful and built very well to fit its usage. It has two large compartments with a hard shell lower half, and a soft top half. You have four external pockets excluding the two large compartments. The bottom half has slots to fit to shoes or to pair of tightly packed shoes. There is an elastic strap inside the main compartment that will hold things together after you are done packing everything in, so when you are rolling it along with you things don’t move. This a very high quality and durable bag, I use it for the beach house and for short trips. I like easily the wheels move and how light it feels with the right amount of tilt. This bag makes it easy to move around, and its still very heavy duty.

I purchased my bag from the states, but I think its over priced in Kuwait, and your better off buying it online.

Price: $450

Price in Kuwait: 250KD

Virgin Limo Bikes (London)...

1.jpg

If your going to london anytime soon and you are not carrying a lot of things then I extremely recommend getting the Virgin Limobikes. Im going to try this as soon as I go to London, they do airport transport or in London transport. I was surprised about how reasonably priced they are compared to taxis.

4.jpg
They can get you anywhere in 20 mins in town since they get around traffic very easily and get to the front. They also have enough area to carry some small bags nothing too big. I recommend one friend to do this already and he had a blast, he told me that was the most exciting thing he has done in London in a long time. He managed to get to a meeting in under 10mins and they got him home in under 15 mins which usually takes 25 mins if he is lucky. And these guys are experts in city traffic riding. They also take Richard Bronson from point to point sometimes. The cost is reasonable ranging from £25 to £40 when your in and around London, and transport to Heathrow from London is £60 which is extremely reasonable for getting you there in amazing time. Try it people you wont regret it.

Review: Villa Kennedy Frankfurt...

I booked this hotel for my quick business trip to Germany, and I have to say I was impressed. After looking around I found this hotel, and it was different then usual business hotel. It looks like a castle from the outside and has a comfortable modern look on the inside. The rooms are spacious, and comfortable. You cant have access to any of the floors without the use of a key card. They have a really cool spa, and their service is beyond what I expected. Room service is extremely quick and the restaurant is really good as well. The people their are friendly no matter what time of day it is. The internet connection in the room was blazing fast, I was downloading so much stuff while typing up my reports for work, it was fantastic. The TV had many german channels, english channels, and arabic channels. The room itself was extremely comfortable, with LCD screens in the living room and bed room, and for modern furniture it was very comfortable. The bathroom itself was amazing! The shower was great and you can adjust it any way you want, and the best part was that the floor was heated so you didnt feel cold after a good shower. And bathtub was huge for those who like bathtubs, and there was a guest bathroom in that suite!

Fly Back...

As I was leaving the hotel I was wondering how fast this taxi cab was going to go, and if this guy is a nut case like the other guy. The cool thing about German cabs is that the meter is in the rear view mirror, which makes the whole thing look clean. So I got in the cab and we got going. This guy wasnt too bad, he had a phone conversation on speaker and it was the wierdest combination of languages I have ever heard. He was speaking Hindi and German, which threw me off. The guy was cruising on the highwayat 155 kph which wasnt too bad. I really like German cabs, they get you anywhere fast! 10 mins and we are at the airport! germany1.jpg

Quick Packin...

packing-crate-outside.jpg

My plan is to pack real quick and get ready to head off to the airport. I have had MTV since last night and its pretty interesting combination of English and German. The Germans extensively use “Za” “Sh” “Diz” “Uz” “Shin” “Sk” sounds! I find it hilarious when they are going really quick it sounds like a messed up record! I heard of spanish hip hop, but I had no clue of German Hiphop which was pretty interesting. Now to get in one of those rediculously fast taxis and see what this guy does.
