Harrods...

DSC02793.jpg

This is the one place that has something for everyone. It might be a little on the expensive side but everyone seems to be entertained around here. You have food, cloths, books, furniture, bags, electronics and pretty much everything you could think off. There are four different things that entertain me in Harrods, the food section, Waterstones, HMV, and the Audio Video store. So whenever I go with someone I always stop at these places just to take a look around.

Hamleys...

DSC02905.jpg

When I walked into Hamleys I was drawn into the LEGO area, but there are other areas which are just as entertaining. With lots of toys, kids running around, bubbles all over the place and giant figures in different corners of the building. I don’t there is a toy store in the world better then this one, even if it is bigger you still won’t find this sort of collection. I especially enjoy the R/C Cars, model cars, helicopters, and toy figures! Then there are the areas for girls and little kids, and its just a fun enviroment to walk around in. If my time wasn’t constrained I could have spent hours there just messing around with different toys, it would have been great. It was still entertaining just to go for a quick walk through.

LEGO GALORE...

DSC02864.jpg

DSC02865.jpg

I usually pass by Hamleys everytime I’m London just to enjoy the walk and take a look around, but I saw sign saying LEGO downstairs so I thought why not check it out. To my surprise what I saw was the largest collection of LEGO items I have ever seen in one place. I have to say that it was fantastic, there were so many different kinds for young children all the way to complex ones for young adults. I had the urge to just open one of them up and start putting the pieces together, especially the one of the big truck. You could spend weeks down there just putting some of those together, but I have to say that they had a large collection of LEGO.

About To Go...

schematic.jpg

I’m at Heathrow airport waiting in the lounger for my flight to start boarding! I finished up my last minute shopping in London. There is always some last minute shopping to be done even if you think you are done. I just picked up some more books, magazines, dvds, and cds. I think I got a good amount, and I packed up pretty quickly since it was very simple but I had to pick up another bag since the one I brought wouldn’t be enough.

I left the hotel at 5:30pm and got to the airport by 6:12pm and I checked in. My flight is at 10:30pm and I like hanging out in the lounge and walking around in Heathrow terminal since there is a lot of places to check out. I ate at the seafood bar as usual and I picked a usb stick from Dixons that I was looking for and since it was right there I decided to pick it up. I’m looking forward to sleeping on the plane since work wants me to come in right as I land, but I think I will shower up, change, and then go to work. There is usually stuff piling up even when you answer all the emails. Then there are things to take care of as soon as I am there!

I’m just enjoying the lounge right now, and waiting for the plane to start boarding before going to gate.

Battle of the Cabbies!...

DSC02852.jpg

I always find it interesting to see what kind of driver is driving the Black Cab I’m in. You always get some interesting characters and always with interesting stories. Some of them have something to say and some don’t, and some are good drivers and some are bad.

Then I get into this one cab who I ask to take me back to the hotel after a meeting and its 20 minutes away. This guy says sure no problem in cockney accent, I didn’t think anything about it. While he was driving he was talking to himself about the people around him, I knew this because he still left the speaker so I could hear him from the back. I thought there wasn’t much to it until somebody cut him off and he went nuts! He said “OYY!!!!” then he went after the guy which really surprised me and he got next to him and I heard some of the funniest insults in the world, for some reason I wasn’t worried I was just trying to hold in a laugh. Then he apologizes to me and tells me how every person on the road is a “wanker” hahaha! We get to the destination and I thank him for the entertianing ride.

Another Cab I took the guy seemed a little off, and when I got in the car he started by jolting me in my seat and he took off! I thought that was a nice start, then we got into some traffic and he was pushing his cab into the tightest spot. Then he got into a tongue lashing with another cabbie and it all started all over again, they were cutting each other off again and again! And everytime they passed each other they would lean on each other, there was a guy in the back of the other cab and he looked like he was having a heart attack, I was just laughing since they were doing this at such slow speeds it wouldn’t matter much. They kept far enough not to even touch each other, and there was fair use of sign language. I didn’t care since he was getting me to my destination quicker. And he would shout at a bus for blocking his way because he wants to get ahead of the guy next to him! When he got ahead he was congratulating himself, and I wanted to clap but thought it would probably be better to not do anything about it. And just sit and relax!

Usually most London Cabbies are pretty normal but every once in a while you find a crazy one! Always entertaining!

London and the Side Streets...

DSC02790.jpg

I’m walking around a lot in London, and just going from place to place after work since the sun doesn’t set here until 8:20pm which is nice, it feels like you still have a lot of the day left to you. And when walking in all the sidestreets you notice these nice stores, and different ones depending which sidestreet. I have to say the one thing about London is that there are a lot of Book stores! I didn’t notice the street I was walking down had so many used bookstores and some interesting theme bookstores. These are speciality bookstores which you have to go through to find what you are looking for. I spent a lot of time just sifting through all the old books, and I was just reading through a few of them. This street did have a lot of different speciliality stores which felt like I was walking through some history, it has this nice feeling to it. There was also an old map store which I spent sometime looking at old maps of the middle east which is always interesting to see how the West in the early days percieved our area. There was also a store with old photographs of actors such as Sean Connery, Peter Sellers, and many more.

Got Here...

DSC02732.jpg

I got on the plane and the moment it was taking off I was already falling asleep. I didn’t feel like breakfast and I just made it to the airport, so within a few minutes I fell asleep, and I didn’t wake up until 4 hours later which was the sleep I needed. And I didn’t realize that the person sitting next to me the whole time was a friend a fellow biker. I covered myself with the blanket so he didn’t see me and I didn’t see him until later in the flight.

Just as I was washing up the captain said we are 20 minutes outside of London. When the plane was going in for the landing I think everybody woke up since the pilot didn’t think slowing down would matter that much when he landed. It jolted everyone in the plane and everyone got a little excited. I was just happy we were on time. And my bag was the fifth one out which is surprising, usually with my luck its the last one out. And I went straight to the taxi lines since I really enjoy riding the taxi.

Travel Prep...

tumitechflowbag.jpg

I’m the type of person that really like sleeping on planes. So I was up packing my bag at 2:00am, I decided what I needed and what I wanted and put it all into my bag. I slept at 4:00am got up at 6:00am and my flight is at 8:15. So I’m just going to shower and head out, its Thursday so their isn’t much traffic. I made sure before I went to sleep to check my list to make sure I had everything with me. The funny part was at night I went through all the international change I had and it turned out I had about 28 Pounds and 20 Pence worth of change, and thats going to be very useful so I put it all in one compartment in my briefcase.

Traveling to London...

DSC01307.jpg

I going to London on Thursday and coming back in a few days. Got a lot of things to finish up and I know that I won’t be packing until the morning. I just have to check how hot or cold it is there, I would prefer if it was cold, I like the cold in London.

I have some work during the morning and then I’m free to go to a few restaurants and movies. I think during my free times I will try to see as many movies as possible. I also want to pick up a few things, but I will see how much time I have. I just hope work doesn’t take too much during the day. I’m thinking if I can go to a few motorcycle places there, I will try to pick up some parts as well.
