Back to the Usual...

After finishing up the meetings in the morning in Dubai Internet City and I went straight to Mall of the Emirates to go walk around there. Whats great is I remember where I wanted to go but I was surprised that there were some shops I didn’t remember from last time and it was packed with people. I love walking around there, it really is endless and bigger then I remembered. My feet were sore from walking around so much, but I didn’t have enough time but at least I managed to go see a movie.

Then I packed up and went to the airport, the best part was that I managed to avoid the traffic usually associated with traffic. I have to say the construction is non-stop, and I don’t think they will ever stop at this rate. I went straight to the checkin desk at the Emirate Airlines, I was happy I only had a carry-on and they pointed me to the excess baggage counter since there were huge lines for the economy check-in. It was great the plane’s economy class was half-empty but the business was full. The airport was organized which was great, but the mess was landing in Kuwait since they unloaded us into buses and the bus driver was horrible. There were a large amount of people at immigration, baggage claim, and the parking lot. The only thing I was happy about at that moment is that it isn’t humid in Kuwait.

Quick Prep...

tumibag.jpg

Just running around finishing up a few things before getting on the plane. I didn’t pack the night before since I’m only there less then a day.

This is my check list that I’m going through:

  • Tickets – Check
  • Hotel Booking – Check
  • Passport – Check
  • Cash – Check
  • Laptop – Check
  • Camera – Check
  • MP3 Player – Check
  • Phone – Check
  • Chargers – Check

Places to go after meeting:

  • Movies
  • Meat Company (Never been there before)
  • Emirates Mall

I packed pair of everything just to make sure I have a back-up if I need, I’m pretty sure of what I’m wearing and I’m taking this really small bag with me, it looks bigger then it is. I usually use it as a carry on in the US, so I hope they will let me carry it while on the plane.

Thats about it for me, going back and forth real quick!

While in Dubai...

I’m trying to remember the steakhouse that I like in Dubai, but I also have a few things that I want to do and I think most of it will be in Mall of the Emirates!

I want to watch as many movies as possible, and these are the movies in the list of importance:

  1. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
  2. Pirates of the Carribbean 3
  3. TMNT

I hope to watch at least one maybe two movies, and then back to Kuwait. Its all a matter of organizing my time! Hopefully I will be able to finish up my meetings around the movie times!

Quick Trip...

minasalam.jpg

It seems I have to go for a quick trip to Dubai this coming weekend for less then 24 hours. I have a few meetings to wrap up, and I need to tie all the loose ends.

While I’m there Im planning on watching some movies and checking out a few places, but I’m only going to be there for a day so I don’t have too much time. I just don’t feel like dealing with all the traffic, and I really hope there isn’t too much traffic, 10 to 20 minutes trips have become 30 to 60 minute trips.

Sondel Sport...

This is one of the best motorcycle clothing store in London, and the last time I was in London I didnt have a chance to go but this time I made it a point to go there, and I was happy I did. This store is a very large clothing store with many different brands to try, for once I was able to try the different jackets and pants combinations available. I also saw the Puma 1000s for the first time and decided to try them. What I loved about the place is that the people working there love motorcycles and you can spend the whole time talking to them about bikes and different things, they would always recommend what they like not necessarily what they have which is always a great sign of a good store. The service was nothing short of excellent, and the funny part is that I was dealing with an Italian guy and we just kept talking about different people riding in different areas that we forgot the shop was closing so I decided to come back the next day to keep on looking. If your ever looking for a huge variety of gear and your passing through London then I recommend you stop by them. I bought a Jacket and some armor, I was going to buy the boots but I thought to just stick to my Daytonas.

FlyKandi...

Hed Kandi is known for their Dance compilation, mixes, parties, and different music production company. I like their music because its chill and gives you a different feeling, but it seems they have done something different. With Monarch Airlines they have branded their own planes which go directly to Ibizia from the UK. I just think the plane overall is interesting and different, I really like their artwork so this is one different looking plane.

Around Heathrow...

I have been to a lot of airports and Heathrow is still my favorite airport, every airport in the US is horrible in comparison, and even if British Airways isn’t doing that well I still prefer Heathrow and specifically terminal 4. When I’m walking around I passed by a few places, I always have a few that I go to just to take a look around. I start off with Dixons, WHSmith, Borders, HMV, and sometimes Boots and Sunglass hut.

I picked up some magazines, and wrote down the names of books I wanted to pick up. Then I went over to the Seafood bar to get something to eat before getting on the place. I really enjoy the seafood bar in the middle and I have been eating there since 1995. After that I sat in the lounge for a few hours, I was there early so I sat for about 3 in lounge. Since my flight was slightly delayed I was one of the last people in the lounge, and it was so packed when I first got there. They wanted to kick me out since they were closing at 10:30pm. Then I took off to my gate which was a 10 minute walk, and I made it on time. I really do like going early to walk around and see all the shops in heathrow and even stand in WHSmith and Borders flipping through books and magazines.

Waterstones...

DSC02933.jpg

I can’t help but enjoy when I walk into Waterstones in Piccadily, it is one of the largets bookstores I have yet to see. When I walk in I get lost where to start because I don’t like missing good books. I start browsing and I randomly pick up a book and read the cover, as well as read the covers of the ones that I do find interesting.

I also roam about for a while on the ground floor between the 3 for 2 books and the best sellers then I go to the 1st floor for Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Crime, after that I head to the 5th floor to check out the photography books. Also on the top floor they have changed the restaurant they had and expanded it, I think its amazing place to sitdown with someone as well as some where to sit and read while getting a quick bite.

There is something about being in a bookstore that I find peaceful and you can just get lost in there, its fantastic, especially this bookstore since its so spacious and everyone is really helpful. The one section that I love about this waterstones is the finding the area with the recommended books, there is the main one on the ground floor, then there are recommended books from each genre which you can find on the different floors.

The Black Cab!...

DSC028521.jpg

I think that the London Cab is the most enjoyable vehicle to ride in. You can to look around at the scenery, you have a large amount of leg room, and you have all the buttons next to you. It really is traveling in comfort, sometimes you get those guys who want to pick you up by car but try to avoid them even if they are cheaper then the black cabs. Sometimes you might get a cabbie who tries to take a slightly longer route but that has been rare with me. I really do enjoy riding in the back of the cab, the driver is usually helpful, I feel very safe, and I do enjoy long rides in the cabs from one point to another. I think that the black cabs can only really work in city areas such as London and highways around that area because the speeds on their highway are limited to a certain amount. I know for sure the Black Cabs wouldn’t work in Germany since they have areas with no speed limits and that isn’t what these vehicles are meant for. So I think the Black Cab is perfect in London and its fun to ride in!

Walking Around London...

DSC02739.jpg

DSC02746.jpg

I have to say that I haven’t walked as much as I have while I was in London. When you are walking around there is always something to look at or you can stop at a store to check out. There is always some scenery to check out, and the movie theaters always have something playing. I always enjoy the abundance of restaurants around London, there is always something to satisfy your taste buds. After walking around for so many hours my feet would go numb and at the end of the night I would go to sleep relatively early and I would pass out right away from walking around so much. There is always somewhere to walk and you can go in multiple different directions.
