Kuwait Shooting Range – NRC...

I just had the urge to shoot guns, I called up some of my friends and picked them up. They dropped off their car at Al Falah Car Wash so while it was getting washed and cleaned we would get some shooting done and come back when the car was nice and clean. The NRC is open every day from 5-9pm except Friday, but I’m not sure if they are open earlier on Saturday.

We came in, gave our IDs and took the visitors badge, anyone 15 and above can come to the shooting range. Surprisingly this is a rule made by the Shooting Range, I’m not aware of any laws that specify who can shoot at a shooting range. We headed down luckily there weren’t that many people, we decided to shoot the hand guns first then the sniper rifles. I went for the 44 caliber Glock and so did my friend, and one guy took the 9mm gun. For about 8 KD you get 10 bullets, and you pay in increments of 8 KD for 10 more bullets. After that we went for the .308 caliber rilfe which is damn big and has a nice kick to it.

While there we saw one of our friends from 4thringroad who is a regular at the NRC. And he showed us some of his personal collection that he keeps at the shooting range, and all of these machines have permits and are licensed. It was a Genuine Israel made Desert Eagle, which is basically the most accurate and powerful handgun out there, and it said Made in Israel which is banned in the GCC, when I asked him how in the hell he had one, he just smiled. That wasn’t the surprising one either, later on at the rifle range it was another machine.

When we got our Glocks, I was loading the bullets giddily, I don’t know why I have had the urge to shoot a gun since the last time I did in the Emirates. As soon as I had the Glock in my hand and shot the first bullet I had a surge of excitment and fired off, getting between the 9 and 10s in the target and it was damn good. The barrel of the gun was hot, I reloaded the bullets and went at it again, it was lots of fun. Then we went to the rifle range which is across the hall, they got us our rifle, then our friend was shooting as well. When we started shooting he showed us a Special Forces Spec M16 which he also keeps at the shooting range and gave us the chance to shoot with it. After I finish all my .308 caliber bullets in the rifle I picked up the M16, I felt like I was in a Rambo movie. You aren’t allowed to use in the fully automatic mode and I didn’t know how to do that either, surprisingly it had very little recoil and was stable. What an adventure for the first time in my life I got to shoot an M16 and enjoy all the other machines, my aim is pretty good too, the instructors said I have a steady finger, my thanks goes back to Halo.

NRC is located after the Equestrian Club just off the Six Ring Road.

Gradually Dropping...

IceCream

I have reached that balancing point with my diet, I’m eating comfortably enough these days. The simple rule that I have forgotten last week but sticking too this week is eating extremely light for dinner. As of recently I have become a huge fan of Subway sandwiches, but they aren’t as light as they are made out to be and I don’t like brown bread so sticking to fruits and vegetables for dinner is key. Finding what makes you happy so you don’t crave everything was very important. For me it was mostly about portions and cutting back on the unnecessary items helped with me.

At this point I have realized I need to work out to drop more weight, since I really haven’t moved at all yet. I have managed to reach 96.8 kilograms which is about 2.2 Kilograms less then a few weeks back. Also I got a scale to help check myself daily now, something precise and very simple. Now my goal is cut down to at least 94 and go from there, some cardio workout and a little weights will help me get there. A while back my optimum weight is at 80 Kilograms but I’m not expecting to reach that point anytime soon, so I’m setting my goals on weekly points which is honestly working, step by step. I want to drop fat and increase muscle weight since I want to get up on the damn wakeboard this summer unlike last summer so its a goal to work towards.

What I’m Craving

  • Baskin Robins Ice Cream
  • Spaghetti Bolognese
  • Muchboos Laham
  • Strawberry Cheese Cake
  • Candies Chocolate Cake Tube Ice Cream
Adidas – Clima Cool...

Its a line from Adidas that is meant as breathable sports wear for use during work outs and sports, and the sneakers are just as good. The best part is they are flexible, light and don’t stick no matter what. I wear them when working, and I wear them under my bike gear because its getting a bit hot these days. I have always been a fan of Adidas and their products are always of high quality, so finding this line of clothing and sneakers has been very useful and comfortable.

Climacool sneakers are the best sneakers I have bought, they are light and easy to walk in. I have had them since last year and whenever I go for long walks they are the most comfortable, even for running they are great. But if you step in a puddle the water comes right through and you can feel it. The best part is that you don’t feel your feet getting hot, or after wearing it all day your feet don’t ache. I have a flat foot so if I sear normal shoes my feet start aching after sometime but after switching to these shoes I don’t feel that anymore and I’m one very happy customer

Good Points:

  • Comfortable
  • Light
  • Breathable
  • Durable
  • Easy to Walk In

(I can’t do pull ups even if my life depended on it)

World Record Kick to the Groin...

This just brings new meaning to mind over body, this is probably one of the most ridiculous tests ever done. Most people would ethier pass out or go into coma after that kick.

Lingerie Football League – Septemb...

The Lingerie Football League kicks off its season this Friday, so we thought we would give you a little preview. The concept originated in 2004 with a Super Bowl halftime alternative special called the Lingerie Bowl. In the past I believe the Bowl was a bit of a joke, featuring models who really couldn’t play football. However this season all that has changed. While the women are certainly beautiful, and they still wear lingerie, now they can play too. This fall, ten LFL inaugural season teams will compete in a twenty week season with games being played at major arenas and stadiums. The weekly broadcast will be shot in high-definition and will be available via cable television as well as online streaming.

When this first came out a few years back it was just a half-time show in the superbowl and they had one game last year. And now for the first time they turned it into a full season with all the teams. I don’t think people should take this lightly, they are bunch of hot girls but this is a contact sport so somebody is gonna get roughed up. It took a genius to put this together, and I for one am gonna enjoy watching some of these games, I’m curious to see the skills of some of these girls who have been on these teams for a while now and I have gone through some intense training.

The Water Banana...

A water banana was one of the first water sporting like event that I remember riding when I was kid and its just as fun if not funner now. Over the weekend we got on a banana, about four of us, pulled by a boat and I could tell this was one of the Chinese versions that are being sold in Kuwait and sometimes buying cheap has its costs. While being pulled by the boat at a constant speed both the front and rear handles ripped so I flew into the guy behind and the guy on the back flew off after one odd bump, luckily we were all wearing life jackets and that helps a hell of a lot. Also because of the slightly wrong buoyancy design of this banana it just doesn’t float right on the water, the driver of the boat is going straight pretty much most of the time and somehow we get tossed into the air. I remember the original ones were a lot thicker and lasted a lot longer, this time around this one didn’t last long so we took it back to the shalaih after we were done, and we did have fun on it but I doubt we are gonna ride it again. The original good version range from 300 to 400 KD and were manufactured by real water sporting goods companies but these Chinese versions cost between 150 to 180 KD and they really don’t last long.

Robot Parkour Ad by Nike...

Parkour is the other word for extreme running and this is a new Ad released by Nike. A new Ad for their shoes, I don’t know what exactly are the shoes but its one cool ad. No human can do what this robot is doing, but its cool as hell, this ad reminds me of the movie iRobot.

PSE TAC-15, Tactical Assault Crossbow...

TAC-15 ‘Tactical Assault Crossbow’, the sort of crossbow designed for when aliens invade from another dimension. It actually replaces the upper receiver from an AR-15 so you can swap between assault rifle and crossbow with a little tinkering. The payoff is at the end when they sell you that it comes with a picatinny rail system. For, you know, when you need a grenade launcher on your crossbow.

I don’t know anything about crossbows, all I know is that I want this weapon with every fiber of my being. I think that because I am a man I want this weapon of choice, a powerful weapon which requires intense skills and precision to be able to use it, yet you think you are Rambo when you have this in your possession. I don’t know the reason this weapon would invoke such feelings, but it would be great to have, who cares about customs, there has to be a way to bring it through the borders.

Formula D 2009...

I don’t think there is a car enthusiast out there who hasn’t tried to drift their car at one point in time. I know I have and its an amazing feeling to find that perfect balance between power, traction, and speed. Timing is everything, just look at how Rhys Millen handles his 500 bhp Hyundai Genesis Coupe with finesse on that track. So many skilled drivers in the Formula Drift Race going at it as hard as possible, I’m just amazed at their skills so many different types of cars and each person tweaking it to the last minute.

Moe @ Gumball...

mohammed-al-thani-rr

I got this from an anonymous email, a really anonymous email but I thought I would post it up. It seems that Mohammed Al Thani of Sharjah will be participating in this year’s Gumball, that I am not surprised about since he is a car fanatic of sorts. But I’m surprised he is participating in a Rolls Royce Drop Head, you have to cover 3000 miles in a certain amount of time and avoid police throughout that period, why would you do it in Rolls Royce not one of the many fast cars he owns.
