Pause on Riding...

wetroadsm.jpg

I have been riding for a while now, and the one thing I learned is not to ride the first couple of days it rains especially in Kuwait. In the last 36 hours I have seen at least 7 cars slide and crash. And yesterday as I was going to a meeting I took a turn at normal speed then I felt the landcruiser spin a good amount and I turned the steering wheel to adjust while keeping the throttle the same, and it caught traction again and readjusted. (Gotta love the Landcruiser)

When it first rains it forces all the oil and dirt deposits in the road to come to the surface. So its turning into a slipslide situation. I want it to rain a couple of more times before I go riding in the rain. I recommend riding in the rain for those who have been riding for a while, because it hones your skills and forces you to pay extreme attention to what your doing. I have ridden in the rain a lot and its a great feeling if you have the right gear not to get soaked, but not the beginning of rain season. You want the rain to wash all the dirt of the roads so that you lower the risk of falling.

KTM 990 SuperDuke...

This is the SuperDuke! I have been looking at this bike for a while now! I think Robo sould have a sibling to play with! This is one spunky machine which needs curves to get the best out of it. For some reason I have this attraction to “different” looking bikes or something you can tweak to make it your own. The SuperDuke kept getting amazing reviews and everyone who has one is very happy with it except for the milage and the instrument cluster could be better, and I really dont think those two are an issue for me. Its a true street fighter and handles amazingly, and KTM is a very good manufacturer so the quality is fantastic. So many bikes so little time.

Tristar is selling it for 5200KD which is a bit of mark up since in the states they sell it for $15K, which is about 4400KD. Still is a bike worth looking at.

Friday Riding...

DSC01036.jpg

I wanted to go to the beach house just to visit some family and have lunch, but I know on fridays there arent any gas stations that are open until 1pm. So I had enough gas to take me around the area, but not to the beach house area and back. So I decided to hit starbucks in Marina after taking a decent ride down the gulf rode. On my way there when I was next to Salwa I suddenly saw a Biker in full gear Black from top to bottom riding a white and red 01-03 Yamaha R1. I was honestly happy as hell seeing somebody else wearing gear. That was the first time I saw somebody else on a sports bike riding sensibly. As we were passing Rumaythiya another bike joined our little duo to make it a trio, and this one was a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R 2006 in green and he was in green as well. He was in full gear as well. I was really happy again, I was grinning like the jocker under my helmet. So we were all playing off each other and helping each other through openings and being considerate to make sure the other person can stay in the little group. I was leading for a while until I got to Marina and parted ways. As I was entering Marina I saw another rider on a Honda CBR wearing full gear riding out! I couldnt be happier! I felt that at last they get the message, its for them more then anything else! The protection will protect them! I stopped and saw about 4 Harleys and one Ducati Special Edition Paul Smart 1000. When I was heading back there was this one guy with his family who were looking at my bike, he was euro but not sure from where exactly, he just said nice bike and he was explaining to his son how great it was. I couldnt have been happier! I was thankful for nice people like them. I said thank you and let his son sit on the bike to take pictures.

As I was walking to the starbucks at the other end I was walking close to the railing and holding the helmet in my right hand, and people wouldnt stop staring. I felt like suddenly I was melting from Superman’s gaze! But damn some of them wouldnt stop even after I was staring back it was rediculous. But honestly that couldnt stop me from being happy that other riders were in full gear! That made me happy as hell!

Riding in the Cool...

DSC01016.jpg

After work it was really sunny outside and the weather was perfect. It was cool outside, and I was looking forward to riding. I changed into my ridin gear and headed down getting ready to head out for a bit of riding before going to my cousins place. After checking on my nephew for a little bit I headed over to the gas station, filled up the tank and headed over to my cousin’s place! The weather was perfect! Cool enough that Im enjoying the heat coming from the Engine. Its an amazing rush, and you feel the electricity going through your body with these temps! I hope everyone is having a goodtime out these days! Its just too good to pass up not being outside! And today Im going to be wearing a jacket that I have wanted to wear for a while, its fully armored black race jacket.

Full Gear...

06112006171.jpg

For those of you wondering, this is how I ride. Full gear all the time be it hot, cold, raining, or snowing. I will always wear full gear, and riding in full gear. If you see me then this is what I will look like. I will not ever ride in a t-shirt, shorts, or shirt. Always full gear in any situation. It only takes one time to fall without gear to cause a lot of damage. I know that riding a motorcycle isnt the safest past-time, but it is something I am extremely passionate about and I wont be stopping anytime soon. So wearing gear is one of the precautions I can take while riding. I will take better pictures of me in full gear on the bike during the day, hopefully on the weekend!

MotoGP 10/06...

MotoGPstanding.jpg

This is one the greatest MotoGP seasons I have seen! It has been amazing seeing different riders take the podium, and Rossi has came up from the rear and taken the front seat. Only one race left today for it to make or break the season for both Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi. I really dont have a preference for either of the riders to win, I just want to see a good race because they have both been great this season. Now its really the battle of the titans! Milandri is close behind them, but the real battle is between these two! Im hoping for a good race and cant wait to see the results!

10 Great Speeding Excuses...

I got these from a UK motorcycle magazine that I read! I found some of them to be pretty funny.

  1. Sorry officer, but your mama hates it when Im late.
  2. I blacked-out after being buzzed by a UFO, and came out of a trance when I saw your blue lights.
  3. I’ve got diaorrhoea, and wanted to get home before I filled my leathers.
  4. A gust of wind pushed me over the limit
  5. I had to rush my dying hamster to the vet, but he seemed to have fallen off.
  6. I thought my speedo wasnt working.
  7. Sorry, I thought you fancied a race.
  8. I was looking at the rev counter by mistake.
  9. Put it on my tab, Pig.
  10. How bout best of three?

Blazing Streets...

I went out yesterday after waking up comfortably. I have to say that it was a fantastic ride since 90% of the streets were empty, and I stopped by the scientific center to take some photos. Since it was such a nice day, and I took the bike on the side walk. I was taking a lot of pictures when a security guy came up to me and asked me to park in the parking spots. I told him Im just taking some photos and then I will be out of his way, I was very polite to the guy since he was polite to me. Then he was asking me about the bike and how I like it. He has seen it online and in magazines, but never seen it in real life. He was asking how I like and if it feels as heavy as it looks, and he wants to get a Suzuki. I asked him if he road before he told me a little while back so I gave him a couple of pointers. Then he told me stay as long as I want and he left, he was a nice guy and people were always stopping and looking when I would stop! hehehehe! Never seen a civilized biker before! hehehehehe..

Then there is the curved part of the gulf road between 3rd and 2nd ring road, and there was no cars what so ever. So I took it at comfortable speed sweeping across and staying in my lane while getting the bike as low as possible. I looked down and I was going around 180kph on an empty sweeping road, and my adrenaline was rushing like no other with wind in my face. My brain was taking in every little detail that I could see. It was an amazing feeling! The rush, and the wind with the music in my head blaring! I couldnt have been happier! I wish their were more times like these where people werent on the road. I went to souq sharq which was packed with people to stop and take pictures as well. I havent seen it that packed with shoppers before! So many people going shopping it was rediculous! Then after a nice long drive around for another hour on the gulf road and the inner roads of Kuwait I was heading home, because I knew my nephew would wake up!

Looking Evil in the Face...

evilintwoformssm.jpg

These are just two evil looking bikes! I love the way they look! On the right is the blood red 05 Yamaha R1, and on the left is the bright red 06 Daytona 675. Usually its me and hamdy riding either bike in the hills. Sometimes I go out on the R1, and Hamdy is on the Daytona. And sometimes we switch, its just a matter of what the other guy is feeling that day. The R1 is a monster on the highways, and the Daytona handles amazingly! I love both bikes, and both are quite different. And the best is riding with someone who knows his limits and has good riding istincts! I have a lot of riding pictures I need to put up! You can click the picture to take a closer look at evil! I think they are evil because these bikes bring out the evil side of a person!!
