Kriega Gear...

R25front.jpg

R25side.jpg

Kriega makes the most durable bike gear I have seen! Gear made by bikers for bikers is the only way to describe the items, there is no compromise in the quality of their products! I especially think their bags are the best biker bags out there. Heavy duty harness which is easy to slip on and off with your gear on, it doesn’t get caught at any point. Even after filling it with a laptop, gadgets, and other items it feels weightless because of the heavily padded back which molds to your back. You can adjust the harness to make the bag fit snuggly to you and so it feels perfect to your back, and you can make all these adjustments with your gloves on. Kriega also sells quite a few accessories for the bag if you want to increase its capacity. It only comes in black with some reflective parts to it, and it has more then enough pockets to accommodate a good amount of items. This is the best backpack for any rider!

They also sell a helmet skin which fit perfectly around any helmet, and protects it from scratches during transport. This is quality protection for something that is going to protect your head.

Prince Rides ‘too fast’...

princewilliam.jpg

Prince William’s security guards have said they won’t put their lives at risk anymore to protect him while he rides his bike.

The 24-year-old has to take a personal cop pillion with him wherever he rides, recently had a “wobble” and almost stacked his Honda Super Blackbird. Armed officers from the Metropolitan Police Royalty Protection Department have said it’s too dangerous trying to keep up with the speedy Prince, and have stressed the difficulty of protecting William at high speeds.

Both William and Harry are said to be addicted to the thrill of riding bikes fast and enjoy the anonymity of wearing leathers and a lid. A member of the protection squad said, “Other then keeping up with him and being alert to potential dangers, officers are concerned in case they break the speed limit.”

What do they expect from the young man! It’s hilarious! He is a prince who is under the media’s eye non-stop and the only time he gets to become anonymous is when he puts on his helmet and gear, then he is no different then any rider on the road except for the motorcycle security entourage that follows him, but it seems that they are having a hard time keeping up with him which I find to be funny. Good for Prince William for enjoying riding and enjoying one of the simple feelings of freedom in his life. Will you get two thumbs up from me, keep riding!

Review: Virgin Limo Bike...

vlb11.jpg

First off the rider of the Virgin Limo Bike who came to pick me up was a World Superbike Racer, he raced for a team and he raced on a Yamaha R1. He came exactly on time. I asked them to be dropped off about 15 – 20 mins away depending on traffic. The bike is just as nice as it is on the website, and it rained earlier in the day. So he provided me with a jacket, helmet, gloves, and something to cover my legs from the light rain and keep me slightly warm. I was excited as hell from know the fact that I’m riding behind a professional racer, and the bike looked cool and comfortable which it was.

His riding was completely safe, nothing outragous but extremely fun since you feel confident of his riding skills, and he knew all the roads very well. He got me to the destination in about 10 mins which was fantastic since we were flowing through traffic! Also on another note the helmet I was wearing had a radio which you could talk to the rider as if he was siiting next to you in a room! It was great exchanging stories about riding, and he is supposed to be racing in the Qatar track in the coming months. It was a great ride, and I enjoyed it so much that I called them to book another point to point transportation. They are very effecient and right on about timing. For the price you pay you get around really quickly and you have a blast doing it as well. For two rides and tip it came out to be £40 which isn’t too bad compared to taxi cabs. I’m going to do this more often. If you dont have any bags to carry then this is the best mode of transportation, but you need to book ahead since they do get booked up a bit.

Last Ride of 2006...

DSC01183.jpg

I woke up early friday morning, and it was the first day of vacation. I was happy that I didn’t have to worry about work on saturday. I went down to the basement and got my gear on, and started the bike up. I wanted it to warm up a bit before I get on since I know its cold outside but I didn’t have a care in the world at that point.

I got on my bike, and I realized that it didn’t have any gas and I on ta’awoon street between Bida’a and Salwa trying to think of gas station which is open which has the high octane (green) gas station, and I remembered the Miseela gas station would be open so I made a U-Turn and headed right in. I was happy to find that the gas station was open, and while I was filling up an american guy walked up to me and asked about the bike, and he is a Harely Rider and he was thinking about getting the bike. He really liked the K1200R and I can given my outlook on the bike. Then I continued my ride and I just wanted to enjoy the empty streets. It was fantastic, I got on the gulf road and I was really enjoying myself taking corners the way I want and not having to worry about idiots on the road, most of everyone was out of the country, and on my way back I stopped by Marina Mall and saw a lot of motorcycles there, they were out in strength today. And I met up with a group of motorcycles and ordered some tea to warm up before heading back home. It was very nice meeting up with other riders and then continuing on my way home to relax with the family.

These are the best pair of riding boots that I have ever had. I have had the Sidi and Alpinestar racing boots. These boots are amazing, I dont even go riding without them now. They provide a huge amount of protection and are still flexible when you are moving around. I have had them for over a year and half now and they are fantastic.

Last Friday Ride...

DSC011611.jpg

So last friday I went riding with Mark since we had sometime I woke up from his phone call in the morning, it was good since I told him to call me when he gets up so we can go riding. And the phone was right next to my head, so we said we would meet up at Marina at 9:45am in the motorcycle parking to go riding for a bit. After showering up and getting into gear I realized that I was out of gas so I headed straight to the gas station and then I took the sea side from Bida’a all the way to Marina to catch Mark in the parking lot. While we talked for a bit to decide where to go a couple of Indian tourist asked if they could take pictures while on my bike, I was like ok and it was one funny site.

Then we decided to go to Hilton Manguf since it would give him a chance to ride on the highway and get used to it with as little traffic as possible. So we took the gulf road down to the 2nd ring road to fill up gas and then get on Fahaheel highway from the 3rd ring road and then straight to Hilton Manguf. I was looking straight ahead, but I was checking my side view mirrors every 2 seconds to make sure Mark was doing fine, and even though we werent going fast at all there were some assholes on the road were tailgating him but I was surprised that he didn’t notice when I asked him. So a few times I would brake so I would get close to Mark and force the car back. He then asked me why I was doing that and then we realized he didn’t notice some of the cars that were tailgating him. One of the reasons is that the side view mirrors vibrate so much that its a blur and you can’t see behind you, and its not the speed really its the engine revs that get the mirrors vibrating so much.

Scorpion EXO-700 Rivet...

DSC011501.jpg

My Scorpion Helmet has arrived and its one hell of a beauty. I like it because its got the same interior as my Matt Black Scorpion Helmet, so I have no problems with the fitting. Its just going to be good putting the helmet on riding around. Its comfortable around the cheeks, and I already switched the clear visor for the dark visor. What I like about these helmets is that you can take the inner lining out of the helmet and wash it. Which gives it a nice clean feeling when putting it on. I like the pattern on the helmet and matte finish it has, it gives it a different look which I like. I just hope the wind dies down a bit over the next couple of days.

MV Agusta F4CC...

MVF4CC1.jpg

It came out at last! The MV Agusta F4CC is here! Made by Claudio Castiglioni with every resource he could get his hands on from technology to materials. It was made as an art piece as well to out perform everything out there. This is made for those who are true enthusiaists and want something extremely special and different. Only 100 of these motorcycles are going to be made and each one with its certificate of origin, each time an owner recieves one it is more like a ceremony then a sales transaction. Each of these machines will cost around 100’000 Euros and it is worth every penny. This machine has a slightly similar look to the MV Agusta line, but 90% of the components are tailor made for this motorcycle. Every consideration was taken to make this one the best motorcycles on the road, and every material hand picked to make it of exquisite quality. I will probably never get to see one let alone ride it, but a rider can dream.

Virgin Limo Bikes (London)...

1.jpg

If your going to london anytime soon and you are not carrying a lot of things then I extremely recommend getting the Virgin Limobikes. Im going to try this as soon as I go to London, they do airport transport or in London transport. I was surprised about how reasonably priced they are compared to taxis.

4.jpg
They can get you anywhere in 20 mins in town since they get around traffic very easily and get to the front. They also have enough area to carry some small bags nothing too big. I recommend one friend to do this already and he had a blast, he told me that was the most exciting thing he has done in London in a long time. He managed to get to a meeting in under 10mins and they got him home in under 15 mins which usually takes 25 mins if he is lucky. And these guys are experts in city traffic riding. They also take Richard Bronson from point to point sometimes. The cost is reasonable ranging from £25 to £40 when your in and around London, and transport to Heathrow from London is £60 which is extremely reasonable for getting you there in amazing time. Try it people you wont regret it.
