I wish I could go riding everyday like I’m doing right now. Its fantastic weather these days and when you go out early enough you can have the roads to yourself. It seems a lot of the people are not even around.
When I got my gear on I was really happy to enjoy the beautiful cool weather with a touch of heat during noon. I riding down towards Marina to stop by and get myself a bite to eat and to relax a bit. As I arrived there was an interesting bunch of motorcycles there and I knew they probably getting a bite to eat too. So I was enjoying my cake and there was this kid that kept sneaking up on me and then he would stand really close and stare at my helmet. That really made me laugh and his parents would apologize and take him, he was at most 4 years old but I had a feeling he wanted to snatch the helmet and run away! It just made me laugh he kept sneaking up on me and I didn’t mind that at all, he was entertaining and when he had to leave he waved good bye.
Then I decided to leave and I sotted the very beautiful Ducati 1098s in the parking lot, and I have to say that it is extremely beautiful. And next to it was an MV Agusta F4 1000 and that was one beautiful motorcycle as well! And then next to that was my motorcycle as a new born, it seems somebody picked up the identical color and I was happy for the guy because I know how he is feeling right now and looking at the bike made me realize time has gone by because I keep making some tweaks as changes to Robo that make him standout from the rest. Thats what I love about motorcycles, you always do something that makes it feel like it is yours the only one for you, always fixing, tweaking, changing, and enjoying the whole thing. I also enjoyed that chocolate cake before heading out. I was enjoying the road until the people with the spray cans started appearing and I really got worried since some people almost sprayed me and if I lose my vision a lot can go wrong so I headed home to relax until my next chance to ride.
There is something riding that gets your senses running at high alert and a strange feeling of calmness. My concentration is running on overtime and I love it since I’m trying to read the road as well as the cars around me. I love that the streets when they are empty, and night it is empty. Its a completely different experience riding at night, and you only try it when your comfortable with your riding skills since its a whole different enviroment of riding.
You should be comfortable with that road because even at night it seems like a different beast. While your riding there is a battle between your head and your head as your taking the next turn thinking can you lean any lower? Is this the Apex? Is the road completely flat? Its all these questions going through your head at light speed while you make your decisions and trust your instincts and practice. Practicing all the turns and being prepared for an unknown situation helps you prepare for this kind of riding. And its beautiful since a clear night is extremely beautiful. I was enjoy myself and I love flipping through this S curve going from Malik Faisal Highway to the Fifth Ring Road heading towards the Malik Fahad Highway. It was a nice ride back from my cousin’s place, and it got me thinking about night riding. I loved riding back from San Francisco since it was always a friend and I on the bikes with one or two cars with us too. We would be enjoying ourselves while they would try keeping up. Very nice.
I got up early this morning because I passed out earlier then I expected last night. I was really looking forward to riding since the weather is getting nicer and my cold is hopefully towards its end. I got up in the morning and I met with Mark at Marina Mall, and we head out from there. The weather was beautiful and the roads were empty. We started head heading North towards Souq Sharq and enjoying the road. We were taking the turns comfortably and when we got to the end we decided to stop for some photos and after that we wanted to get a bite to eat. While we were riding we caught a group of Harley guys heading out of the McDonalds parking lot, and then as we were heading back down the Gulf Road to go eat we caught the TriStar BMW/Ducati group on the road and waved as they passed by. It was nice catching them but we were pretty damn hungry and we only had one thing in mind to eat.
It seems the Kuwait has been vacated this weekend, either people are in the beach house or have left the country for this long weekend. My goal is to avoid the popular roads from 3:00pm onwards. So while we parked our bikes and walked straight to Le Pain Quotidien for some chocolate milk and whatever else we had in mind. I got a sandwich and Mark got an omelete which filled us up, while we were there we met up with Stallion, Nibaq, and K.theKuwait by chance. We even spotted a Benelli Tornado Tre, which is very rare and it seemed brand new and extremely nice. I think Benelli’s make very beautiful motorcycles and they are revamping their machines to be more reliable. I have always wanted to get a Benelli but they are difficult to get and even harder to maintain. After a while of chilling we decided to head out, and on my way back I was really enjoying the ride. The weather was nice and its one fun bike, and was enjoying my ride.
I’m quite stubborn since I really wanted to ride to work today and I’m happy I did. I still have a bit of a cough and a little running nose but I’m doing a lot better. It was fun as hell, this is one entertaining bike, it has a good amount of power spread out through its rpm range, and a good amount in the beginniing which was good since I’m just taking it easy. I was happy taking it around corners and this bike flips side to side very easily.
It has this Italian retro look to it, but it has the newest technology worked into its suspension and chasses, you feel it while riding. I really like the tone of the engine and the exhaust it gives a very intense feeling.
Well I went to try star on Wednesday for a bit to check on Robo, and I was happy to see that they had him inside the garage and covered. But they also had something odd in the back which was covered which seemed to be also pretty interesting. I went there to drop of a few upgrades that I got for Robo while I’m waiting for the parts to arrive.
Parts Im installing:
I’m also happy they are fixing up the garage’s interior to give it more space for them to work in. I wish it was one of those high garages, but I can only ask so much there service is great and a very friendly staff, so I would want that over a really nice garage, hopefully they will have a nice garage sooner rather then later.
BMW has revamped its G 650 to suit different tastes! My favorite was the Xmoto from these three, each one presents a different video of what you can do with it. From dirt to asphalt these bikes cover it, these bikes are agile to say the least and very light. Check out the video they are pretty fun.

I have gotten a few parts which will be added to Robo while in the shop since he is getting fixed, he should also get fixed up! There is one thing I want to get for myself which is the back protector to slip into my Dainese jackets. There are other back protectors which cover the whole spine from top to bottom, but that isn’t what I want to currently wear. This will do the job and I can change it from jacket to jacket since most of my jackets are Dainese. I will be asking Tristar to pick it up for me since they are the Dainese dealers in Kuwait, and I have noticed that their prices are very reasonable and I’m not in a hurry to pick it up so I can wait a bit.
I just wish we had a damn track in Kuwait. What most riders like doing is taking turns as best they can, and enjoy the apexes in each turn. Not just wheeling in the middle of damn traffic. If we had a track I would be there everyweek if possible to enjoy the track and it can be rented out to clubs which would be cool as hell. These people in government don’t realize that if they do this it will keep a lot of people of the streets and they can let loose in their vehicles and bikes. I even heard they are shutting down the dragstrip which is a huge mistake, they said because its the noise disturbance to the houses which have been recently built. Didn’t they think that a house next to a dragstrip wouldn’t work! Just give us a plot of land in the middle of no where and people will go!
I was supposed to get up at 9:00 am but since I slept so late that wasn’t going to happen. I got up at 11:00am and I really wanted to ride, first thing I did was get out of bed to check out the weather. It was nice, so me and Mark decided to meet up for a ride in this nice weather.
Tristar sent me a very nice bike to try for the weekend, it was a Ducait Sport Classic 1000 Monoposto. This bike oozes quality, and its a true Cafe Racer. When I saw that bike it gives another name for red blooded Italian, when I was on it, I got this image in my head of the engineers in Italy working on the bike and polishing it before shipping it off. When I started up the engine I really felt that this V-Twin really rumbled the right way, and I knew that this bike is meant to handle curves. I wanted to take it easy on the bike since it was still being broken in.
We started off from Marina Parking lot and headed down the Gulf Road, we wanted to go the whole way, but cut off at Jibla and turned out there was a Hala Febrayer event taking place. Then we took some inside roads to the second ring road so that we could cut across and take a different route to the Gulf Road, it was nice since traffic was light. We were enjoying ourselves, and Mark is riding better then before.
It was a fun day and towards the end when I was heading home there was some cross wind which was getting annoying since I was really enjoying riding the bike. The bike has a lot going for it, and I like its class Cafe Racer look. It was a nice day of riding! I just felt that its getting a bit hot, I really want the weather to stay cold until at least May. This Ducati even gave me a reason to wear my Red helmet.
I got a call Thursday morning from the Tristar Garage telling me that my clutch is malfunctioning and my Clutch Master Cylinder needs to be replaced since it also isn’t functioning. So they said they have one part in stock and the other they have to order. I was happy they figured out what was the issue, I thought there might have been some air in the line or the clutch needed some tweaking, but at least I know now what is going on and that it can be fixed, but it is a bit frustrating that I can’t have my bike.
I got a call that same morning from Tristar telling me that they would send me a bike to test ride for a few days since I couldn’t make the test ride they had a few weeks ago. I thought it was great of them to give me a bike for the weekend, and it arrived at my house around 6:30pm which isn’t too bad since I want to ride Friday morning. I have to say that it is one very unique looking bike and its going to be fun to ride. Of course I will take care of it like it’s my own bike and take it easy. This is going to be a fun ride tomorrow! I will be taking lots of pictures.
This was a TriStar meet up at Green Island on Friday morning which I decided to go to. And I have to say that this is the reason why I like TriStar they are the people who ride motorcycles as well sell them. You could feel that they are trying to make a community from all these riders, and there are a lot of good people in this group with really cool motorcycles. It was a very organized ride from Green Island all the way to Julai’a which was a 45 minute ride and we were all riding along calmly. There were a few annoying drivers but it was a good ride and their are some pretty experienced riders riding with us which was good. Just before leaving we saw a group of 20 Harleys riding down the Gulf Road, I knew a few of them and so did the other people. We were a mixed bunch of motorcycles from cuisers to sports bikes, and to trail riding bikes, there was about 25 of us riding.
It was good to meet up with these people, but I had to leave because I had a few things on schedule and I went riding a little longer before heading home. I wish there were more places for bikers to ride. I still need to sort out the issue with my clutch but hopefully soon.
