Review: Crank...

Crank.jpg

This is one intense movie, and it is for the kind of people that like a rush of action in a movie. I have to say that there has been movies where the story line revolves around time and the characters life on the line. But this is a totally different twist, I wasnt expecting to enjoy this movie as much as I did. Its an action packed movie, which gets your adrenaline going. I really like Jason Statham action packed movies, because he plays a bad guy so well, and he makes a good guy look like such a bad ass. The comedy in this movie is in the action that takes place with all the different scenes. It literally is just havoc after havoc with a great plotline of guy fighting a syndicate and making his own decisions based on saving his life. He has been poisoned and its slowly stopping his heart and the only way to stop it is by keeping his adrenaline up and what he does to keep his adrenaline up is the part thats fantastic. Its a pretty gory movie so I dont recommend it for those who dont like seeing blood. If you like action packed fast paced movie then this is for you, even though the ending was just not needed, they could have done better. It is extremely enjoyable.

Review: Kino’s Journey...

kino_neu1.jpgl

Plot Summary

The traveler Kino and a sentient motorcycle by the name of Hermes are dedicated to seeing the world. Together they visit many countries and city-states of the world but always observe a near sacred rule: they will remain only three days no matter what happens or whatever they encounter. As Kino and Hermes follow their journey, they will experience and explore the many varied aspects of humanity.

This is one interesting anime, I kept seeing that people like it and it had a motorcycle. But it turned out to be deeper then that. Kino is traveling with her Motorad, which seems to be concious. Kino doesnt spend more then 3 days in any one place, its just something that she seemed to have developed. And no specific reason for traveling, but Kino is a pretty experienced traveller. This anime explores the different type of human nature and human society. At first it starts off a bit and slow and you dont trully understand everything, but towards the end you appreciate all the travel done and you get a perspective of different societies that could arise and how people could develop. Its pretty freaky at some points how people are. Overall I thought it was cool anime. But it isnt for everyone, its anime that gets you thinking and requires you to get into it to really enjoy it.

Review: Sony DSC M-2...

Sony-DSC-M2.jpg
Positive

  • Good clear pictures during daytime
  • Great video recording for a digital camera
  • Its relatively light
  • Battery lasts a good amount of time
  • Pretty simple

Negative

  • Bad low light pictures
  • Too much nose in pictures
  • Flash is useless
  • Low ISO settings make the picture fuzzy
  • Lens is for short
  • Too pricy

Overall it isnt worth the extreme price for what it was going for, Im sure if they are selling it anymore. But it does produce really good movies and during the day time its a great camera to just snap pictures, but the big picture for 5 megapixel just has too much picture noise!

Review: Nokia E60...

e60_c.jpg

Positives:

  • Long Batter Life (3 full days with normal use)
  • Bright Screen, large and very detailed
  • Very Quick to any application
  • Buttons very easy to see in the dark
  • Can use the phone as a flash light because its so bright
  • Very quick to load applications
  • Very good web browser
  • Can change the screen orientation from vertical to horizontal
  • Lots of applications
  • Good sounding speaker
  • Very large buttons and a good joystick
  • No Camera
  • WIFI
  • Keypad Lights up in the Dark. (Light Sensitive)

This is an extremely good phone and it does what its supposed to do down to the dot. Its a business oriented phone which still has multimedia capability. It does not have a camera and that is something some people can not live without. This phone is perfect for the purpose it is built for, it has lots of applications. Loads everything extremely quickly. Very stable and relativly light for its size, it looks deceptivly heavy until you hold it. It has a solid build and a very simple external slot to put the miniSD. I think its a fantastic phone, but sometimes I need a camera. But overall I recommend this the most from the Nokia E series.

Review: Larry the Cable Guy: Health Insp...

larrycableguy.jpg

Larry the Cable Guy is a stand up comedian who has been in Blue Collar Comedy. He is hilarious in his own southern white hick type way. He is the health inspector of a city, and he has his own way of judging good and bad restaurants. He has his own creative way of going about things, and has been given the stiffest partner possible to keep him in line. When things started going wrong in the restaurants of the city he was asked to get to the bottom of this. This is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a while I couldnt believe half the things this guy was doing, and we just kept laughing. If you feel like a funny movie, with a good story line then this is the movie for you. Its just rediculous humor and entertainment.

Review N73...

n73.jpg

This is a phone that came out about two months ago now, and I think I have put it through the hoops. Its a really good phone but with a few kinks to work out.

Positives:

  • Strong signal
  • Bright and large screen
  • Extremely good web browser
  • Very load speaker
  • Very good pictures
  • Lots of tools
  • Very versatile information for contacts
  • Long battery life
  • Very light for size
  • Good buttons and joystick
  • Multimedia player is very good, and slideshow for pictures is very good.
  • Sms stored on Mini-SD so it can be moved
  • No limit on number of SMSes and Contacts. I havent reached the limit yet and Im at 867 messages with 483 contacts.
  • Keypad lights up only in the dark. (Light Sensitive)

Negatives:

  • Slow to load sms or mms menu (new or to read)
  • A bit slow to open contacts
  • Freezes if you try too many things when its running slow
  • Multimedia loads a bit slow as well
  • Bluetooth needs to be adjusted, it seems not one to connect after a few times. Then you have to restart it to get the Bluetooth working again.

Overall I think its a great phone, but I wish it wasnt slow for sms and contacts since its the two things that I use the most. So its a bit frustrating when I have to send a quick sms, and if you try to force it then it will hang even more. But I think if it gets a software upgrade maybe they worked on that part. If the software improves I would bump it up to 4 stars!

Review: The Illusionist...

illusionist.jpg

Im a big fan of Edward Norton, and all his movies. He has this amazing ability to take the character and turn him into something real life, to live the character. Jessica Beal is also in this movie, but she doesnt have a central role in it. I just felt that she isnt the one who added to the movie. It was a huge amount on Norton’s shoulders and the part that the inspector plays. And 000000 plays the prince’s role perfectly since he is perfect as the evil character. This story is just piece after piece of clues which come together at the end. I really recommend this movie for anyone who is a fan of Edward Norton Jr.

Review: Initial D Drift Racer...

initiald.jpg

This is a movie based on the popular anime about the best drifter in the moutains with his Toyota AE86. The story has some similarity to the anime, and the cool parts are the drifting and watching the dads deal with their sons. It aint bad and the cars are cool, but it doesnt do the anime justice. This anime brought drifting to the main stream, and made it popular. This isnt like Tokoyo Drift, this film has a story line which you will follow and how the main character developed to be the drifter that he is. Its really great to watch if your into foreign movies. The drifting is realistic, and you get to see some funny scenes in the movie about friends and family who know the racer, and what they try to do when they find out who is the 86 Toyota Driver. I think its cool to watch if you like the anime, and you want to see some drifting.

Review: The Protector...

protector.jpg

If you liked the movie Ong Bak then you will really enjoy this movie. The story is from ancient Thai history about the people and their relationships with elephants up to today’s time. I have to say that it wasnt the best plot line, but I wanted to see the action more then anything else. And there were a lot of actions scenes. Elbows flying, kicks, punches and many other forms of attacks that is really amazing! I dont even know what the hospital bill was for the stunt actors in this movie. The funny part is there is this one big bald guy who fights in the movie, and then I remembered he is the actor from Troy that Brad Pitt stabs in the neck and who dies in the beginning. It was an action movie that hit the spot. If you dont enjoy foreign movies then you wont enjoy this movie, but if martial arts is your thing then sit down and watch this movie!!

Review: Tristan and Isolade...

tristan_and_isolde.jpg

This is an epic movie revolving around the history of England and the relationship with the Irish. Tristan is a warrior for one of the English tribes, and Isolade is an Irish princess. This is story line is very interesting since its follows an interecate tale between the two of them. There is war between the English tribes, and war with the Irish. The battle scenes are great for an epic movie, and you get drawn in by the characters and how things play out with all the relationships being formed in the background. James Franco plays the character of Tristan peferectly, and I think it is a good movie to just sit down and watch, and its extremely entertaining to watch.
