Review: Tokyo Underground...

Plot Summary: Under the capital city of Tokyo, Japan, there exists a large, vast, and unknown world known as Underground. There, people known as Elemental Users exist; people who have the ability to control the elements: Fire, Water, Lightning, Magnetism, Freeze, etc. Meet Rumina Asagi and his best friend Ginnosuke Isuzu, two average high school freshmen who reside in Tokyo. When they meets Gravity User, Chelsea Rorec, and the Miko of Life, Ruri Sarasa, their whole life changes into one big adventure.

I tend to like action packed martial arts anime, Tokyo Underground has that and alittle bit more. The anime picks up very quickly from the start, Asagi doesn’t know where they come from but he likes Ruri who is the Maiden of Life. Chelsea Rorec is the bodyguard of Ruri, and they just escaped from The Company. Due to his actions he has gained the power of wind and vowed to save Ruri from the company which is not an easy task. The anime is off to a good start, and the story develops from there. Towards the end it looks like its going to be interesting but I think they didn’t take it to the peak of an ending that it should have had. Overall the anime quality is great, and storyline is entertaining.

Review: Voice of the Gods (Age of the Fi...

I have been a fan of Trudi Canavan for some time now, and this trilogy (Age of the Five) is one I was looking forward to. I flew through the first and second books, and now the third iteration of this trilogy. Its a real disappoint when you finish a good book and still want more. Northern and Southern Athania are going to go to battle for the last time, and the book ends on a very high note. There is a build up to all that is going on and Auraya seems to be in the middle of it all. A book that leaves you satisfied and wanting more, I recommend this book and the trilogy to any scifi fan.

Review: Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones...

I am always on the lookout for a good set of headphones that can fit comfortably in my ear. The main points for me are sound clarity, bass, and how they fit with a helmet on.

After a few reviews I checked out the Bose Triport In-Ear Headphopnes, the latest ones were revamped due to a few problems with the original release. I have found these headphones to be great, very good quality sound, fits perfectly in my ear and there are three sizes to the fitment (S, M, L). There is some decent bass from headphones this size, it isn’t something huge but you can clearly hear it and its perfect when riding. I tried it when I was riding the R1 with its loud pipes and I could hear my music clearly.

Pros:

  • Very good clear Sound (Updated Headphones)
  • Good Bass
  • Easy fit in my ear (S,M,L)
  • Highquality wire, doesn’t look like its going to cut easily
  • Reasonable price

Cons:

  • The rubber pieces fall off the headphones very easily.

Price: $85

Review: The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Em...

There was a lot of hype revolving this release of The Mummy, and I thought it would be interesting. At this rate sort of have the storyline down, monster comes alive, Brandon has to find a way to kill monster, the end. So I thought they had to have a slightly different approach to keep things interesting. I was wrong, it felt like it wasn’t put together correctly, it doesn’t flow well and you don’t know all the characters as you get to know them before. And I thought Jet Li had a bigger role, but not enough martial arts. I wouldn’t go to this movie if you haven’t seen it, there are better ones out there.

Review: Reaper...

Lazy kid who doesn’t really excel at anything and works at the local Work Bench, just like a Home Depot/Costco. Turns out his parents sold his soul to the Devil and now he has to work as a Bounty Hunter for the Devil and his friends get dragged into it. A bunch of guys running after escaped souls or monsters to put them back in hell. A show with an interesting storyline, and there is something brewing in the background with a lot of humor added to it. The characters make for a very interesting combination and its a very funny show really worth watching.

Review: Wanted...

A mundane office worker watching life pass him by not really doing anything. Until one day he finds out that the daily migraines he has are an ability to focus beyond human capability, turning him into an elite assassin. A pretty interesting storyline and how they build it up, the action is non-stop as soon as things start kicking up. Its an interesting story with a character you really don’t expect, and Angelina Jolie plays the perfect role, killing people and looking good.

Review: Burn Notice...

People are always interested by the job of spies, but what do they do after their job is done or not. A spy doesn’t get fired, they get a burn notice. Michael Westin is that spy and he ends up in Miami, stuck in his situation trying to figure out who burned him, and he has only a trigger happy ex-girlfriend and an old drunk friend to help him out. As he is trying to figure out who burned him, he takes care of a few odd missions here and there to make some money and help people out. Action packed episodes in Miami, good music, and an interesting story line. A fresh show that keeps you on your toes and entertained at every turn,  really worth watching, the first season was very good and now the second season is starting.

Review: Hellboy II: The Golden Army...

I loved the first Hellboy movie in 2004, so when Hellboy The Golden Army was to be released I was looking forward to it for some time. Humans and magical creatures have had a truce for centuries and there are some magical beings that want to break that truce and to destroy the humans, and his tool will be The Golden Army. Hellboy has to figure out what is going on and try to stop him. The best part is that Hellboy is indifferent about everything and he just wants to kick ass and show humans that he exists. The story line is very interesting, and the best part is that there is also another story in development in the sequel for Hellboy and the characters and feel fit perfectly. A good fantasy movie and the best part is that there is a sequel coming out, but hopefully sooner then four years later like this one.

Review: The Dark Knight...

There isn’t much more that can be said about this movie that has not been said. It did live up to the hype and more, a great story line, great actors, and the perfect combination of effects to bring out the darkness of gotham. I loved that they really used the tumbler in this movie to the fullest, and that motorcycle was insane. This time around I didn’t know what to expect from this movie, the best part is that it wasn’t just a Batman movie, it was a movie about the corruptable human soul. Christian Bale as usual did an amazing job as Batman, Heath Ledger portrayed the Joker as true insane mastermind, he bourght him across as not just evil but a really lunatic striving for chaos. I think the one who stole the show was Two Face, a character I wasn’t expecting even though I knew Harvey Dent was in this movie and he is Two Face. The only annoyance was that girl, they could have picked any other girl to play that role and she would have been better. The way it came about was unexpected and very surprising. I saw the movie twice in a normal theater, and once in IMAX and it is worth it seeing it IMAX. I don’t even know how they will be able to make a better Batman movie then this one.

Review: Love Guru...

Mike Myers plays the role of Guru Pitka living in Los Angeles after his years of training in India. He is world reknowned for his skills as a Guru, but his one rival is Deepak Chopra. Then enters Jessica Alba who is the owner of a Canadian Hockey team, and her star player is having personal issues and its affecting the game. Mike Myers has played this type of role since Austin Powers, he is entertaining with how corny things could be but this is just a little over the top. You will be laughing from this movie, its an American interpretation of an Indian movie, all that was left was to dance around a tree. It was just a little too corny for my tastes.
