Review: Ikkitousen Great Gaurdians...

Plot Summary: Preparing for the battles to come, tournaments and to fight against new opponents from over the world, Hakufu is working to have enough money to make her dream true. But she doesn’t consider that old and new allies and enemies will come to scene, and also being a weak leader to the eyes of her companions. A sister also appears. She doesn’t even know her mom’s past so better to start from the local stuff before attempting to go worldwide.

Ikkitousen is one of those martial arts Anime that I really enjoy, Great Guardians was the third iteration of this series and I really wasn’t sure to expect. All these students still represent the reincarnations of warrior spirits from the past with predetermined destinies, and who knows how that will come to be. The best part of the was that their was a lot of fighting scenes to go around, with a very complex storyline that unwinds into a simple idea. The only part which I found a little funny, is that this anime series always was skimming the line of nudity but this time around they crossed it and went for somethign that was a little more frisky then usual. Overall I enjoyed the anime and storyline, I just hope this isn’t the end of the Ikkitousen series.

Review: Wolverine – X-Men Origins...

I have been waiting months for this movie, I didn’t want to see that version that was leaked or a censored version so I waited and it was worth the wait. Seeing the adamantium fused into the bones of Wolverine and taking the new life of an X-Men got me worked up. Overall this movie was worth the wait, and I think Gambit was depicted perfectly as the character in the comic books. The storyline develops perfectly and the battle between Wolverine and Striker unravels towards the end in a perfect way, I really liked how the story was developed and we got to see the other characters who will later turn into the X-Men.

Review: The Hangover...

R rated comedy at its best, very few can match up to this movie in the comedy line up. A bunch of friends going for a bachelor party end up losing their friend, almost getting shot, mauled to death, and overdose on rufis. The movie goes backwards as they try to figure out what exactly happened to them and what happened to their friend, they woke up with a lion in the bathroom, a baby in the closet, and a police car in valet. I don’t think I have laughed so hard before, it hurt and I couldn’t stop laughing throughout. Its not a typical story line but the surprises were priceless and Alan, the dysfunctional brother-in-law, made the whole movie, he was hilarious with everything he did or said. Every person should watch this movie its so damn funny, but make sure that it isn’t censored or about 80% of wouldn’t be seen.

Review: Race to Witch Mountain...

Jack Bruno is a regular cab driver in Las Vegas who meet interesting people, one day Seth and Sara surprisingly end up in his back seat. Little does he know that there is more to these kids then just what they told him. I’m a fan of Dwayne Johnson, he knows how to make entertaining movies and his acting skills are pretty good relative to his size. Sort of an action adventure out of Disney world productions, lots of explosions and actions but just enough not to scare the kids. A really fun storyline with some interesting characters and Bruno gets caught up in all the action, a fun movie to watch.

Lie To Me...

After 13 episodes it was a peak of an ending, Dr. Lightmen has the ability to read people’s facial expressions and body language to tell if they are lying or telling the truth. From episode to episode each story is unique in showing how his skills manage to unravel the problems that he faces from person to person. The ending is pretty good in pointing out there will be more to come. This is one those unique shows that I think anyone will enjoy, and if you haven’t started watching it then you should.

The Unit...

David Palmer or Sergeant Major Blane is the reason I began watching this show, its sort of an off spring from 24 for me. After watching this show since 2006 I couldn’t believe the last episode I saw from Season 4 was the last episode, it felt like it but I couldn’t believe I still wanted more but they do leave you hanging. The Unit was a lot better for season 4 but I always did find the wives to be a bit annoying and always getting in the way, the action is non-stop though and its always interesting. If you like military type shows then this show is for you, lots of action and a great story line, too bad it had to come to an end.

Review: Crisis on Infinite Earths –...

Recently I have gotten more interested in novels of comic books then I have of comic books, I do enjoy reading comic books every once in a while but these books have gotten really good. What I like is that they leave you with so much room to interpret the feel and look of the characters yet you know what they are thinking, and my imagination just goes on overdrive thinking about all the ideas they are bringing across. There are multiple copies of our universe, Earth-1, Earth-2, and a lot more, and they have slightly or drasticly different versions of our superheros and what they do. Something has disrupted the Multiverse and is hell bent on destroying them all, a white wall is all the heroes see before the impending death of their planet and no amount of fighting is able to fight. The key to unraveling the whole thing is Barry Allen aka The Flash. The story is so easy to read, you just want to keep following it page after page, I haven’t flown through a book like this in months. This story was in comic book form over 10 years ago but the novel version gives you the freedom to imagine, and it is very easy to see to get lost with all the characters but it all revolves around Barry Allen. For any person who has any inclination towards comic books then this is a fantastic read.

Review: Popcorn Hour A-110...

I have to say that I am very impressed with the Popcorn Hour A-110, it is a little more advanced then most people think and can even output the right audio to heavy duty A/V equipment. I have had it for over a year now and put it through its paces. Most people are in search a decent and simple media player that will play all the different encodings of stored video and audio, and I think that the Popcorn is the solution. We had to upgrade to higher end Onkyo A/V so that it can recieve the decoded audio through the HDMI wire but that isn’t a shortcoming of the Popcorn, I think its great that it can output all forms. I’m not going to go over all the technical details of the product you can see it here.

Pros:

  • Simple operations
  • Can attach multiple hard drives
  • Outputs Analog and HD to any TV/Projector
  • Compact and simple to transport
  • Analog/Component Video/S-Video/HDMI Video output
  • Connects to the network, and you can manually connect
  • Decent price for product that can cover all the different encodings

Cons:

  • Sometimes you have to manually map the location of hard drives or shared folders.
  • Issues with subtitles when watching Japanese Animation

Review: Transporter 3...

Frank Martin puts the driving gloves on to deliver Valentina, the kidnapped daughter of a Ukranian government official, from Marseilles to Odessa on the Black Sea. En route, he has to contend with thugs who want to intercept Valentina’s safe delivery and not let his personal feelings get in the way of his dangerous objective.

There is a reason why I like Jason Statham films, he usually plays interesting roles or he is a no nonsense person who gets his answers one way or another. Some people aren’t that fond of the Transporter movies, but I like because its simple and entertaining to watch. He has a mission and on the way he beats up a hell of a lot of people. I don’t know how he works out or what he does but he is built like he is made out of stone. The story line is simple and realistic to follow, nothing to insane except for a few car stunts.

Review: Fanboys...

Many of us are Sci-fi fans, and I know that I am one of those fans who just can’t get enough. Now this movie is made for those Star Wars fans who can’t get enough of Goerge Lucas and a group of friends who embark on a journey to the Sky Walker Ranch and steal the a rough cut of Star Wars: Episode 1 Phantom Menace before 6 months its release. They have to fight through a league of Star Trek fans, get out of jail, and make through all the crazy things that take place to get there. A perfect cast for this type of movie, we were laughing for most of the movie and really worth it. A fun movie to watch for anyone likes those crazy adventure comedies with a little fanfare thrown into the mix.
