Set in the year 2154, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect in the movie, except that it is a dramatic science fiction movie starring Matt Damon. I liked the trailer so I jumped right in, this is about Earth going to crap and the elite moving to an earth station orbiting around earth in the perfect world. The robots in this movie were cool and realistic, and people were going to extremes to get to Elysium. The surprise for me wasn’t just the story, it was the other star of this movie who played the bad guy perfectly, Sharlto Copley (From District 9). He made the movie insane and thrilling, above and beyond what I was initially expecting and that made it that much better.

I have been a huge fan of the Transformers series since the 80s, and I loved the cartoons they did in the late 90s and early 00s. The movies came out to a kid who grew up loving this show and wanting them to be real more then anything else, I will never stop thinking one day that we will meat a sentient robotic being from outer space and one that sounds and acts like Optimus Prime. From the original series, to the Beast Masters, to Armada, I loved seeing all the forms of the autobots.
When Transformers Prime came out I was happy it had it’s own story different then the movie and it had a mature audience in mind. They really did jump into the story line of the Transformers Universe, and one the best parts of the show is that Peter Cullen played Optimus Prime who was the original from the 80s show and played Optimus in the Movies. This show pulls any fan in and I wasn’t too keen on 3D animation but they did this tastefully, and I loved how all the characters were introduced as the story progressed. This show ended 3 Seasons and they ended it on a perfect note, it wasn’t always a happy ending and you do get pulled into the story, but this was probably one of the best and most evil Megatrons I have seen.
Each season was more Epic then the next, and the story developed perfectly, it only annoys me that there were only so many episodes to watch but this could be only described as short and sweet. I am a fan, a huge fan in fact and my love for the Transformers spawned from the 80s and grew more as I grew older and this series did make me happy every moment I watch it. There is an hour long Transformers Prime movie which I am looking forward to watching. I just hope there is more in the coming future because there are a lot of people out there that just love the Autobots & Decepticons.
Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick’s past.
Going back to the original Riddick, this is similar to the first movie Pitch Black. It’s Riddick versus the monsters and only with his skills are they able to survive, and no mercenary group or two can even think to take him on. I enjoyed the way it played out and as usual Vin Diesel is a bad ass in this movie. If you loved Pitch Black you will love this movie.

The story of Steve Jobs’ ascension from college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century.
You could tell these guys wanted this movie, they wanted to make it, Steve Jobs is just that much of a legend that people wanted to get his story across, especially Ashton Kutcher. The similarity between him and Steve Jobs is uncanny, its honestly frightening how similar he looked. But even with all the things they tried to get right as Steve Jobs grew from being in College and rejoining Apple at the later stage the story felt like it was missing. For most people they would enjoy the movie, but a lot of us are very familiar with history of Apple for the past 10 years and reading a few books after his passing brought more of his story to light. This movie didn’t do him justice as Steve Jobs more of the story or a different part of it could have been told to bring it across better.

This riveting account reveals the secret corners of our supposedly flat world: black markets where governments are never seen but still spend outrageous amounts of money. Journalist Matt Potter tells the story of Yuri and his crew, a gang of Russian military men who, after the collapse of the Soviet Union found themselves without work or prospects. So they bought a decommissioned Soviet plane-at liquidation prices, straight from the Russian government-and started a shipping business. It wasn’t long before Yuri, and many pilots like him, found themselves an unlikely (and ethically dubious) hub of global trading. Men like these are paid by the U.S., the Taliban, and blue-chip multinational companies to bring supplies- some legal, some not-across dangerous borders.
Under the Radar and on the Black Market with the World’s Most Dangerous Smugglers
I picked up this book thinking its going to be a crazy story about a bunch of commands gone bad, but turns out to be a book about the grey market of private aviation, they are neither bad guys nor good guys, just depends on the contract that they have at hand. It is one very interesting book as to how the Soviet Military broke down since they ran out of money and the Air Force turned out into the most efficient and decentralized private aviation industry known to man, no one boss, no accountability, with the powers and resources of the cold war at their hands. Where paperwork can be altered, these guys would be based and they would go, they go where they are needed with their Antonovs and Ilyushins. The book is a very interesting read, a view into the Russian mind set and to my surprise Sharjah was a major hub for Drug Smuggling, Money Laundering and more, didn’t know it was like that for so long but it was the gateway into the Middle East and Europe from Asia and Russia. Matt Potter did a fantastic job of going into the depth of this story, but the book gets a bit repetitive, it could have been about 1/3 shorter then it was, then it would have been a perfect book, but it was a very interesting read and an eye opener.

A recently slain cop joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him.
I was looking forward to this movie, sort of Ryan Reynold’s Men in Black Movie, with him being Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones is played by Jeff Bridges. I love Science Fiction movies, but this Supernatural movie just didn’t play out the right way, it annoyed me and honestly disappointed me. Here I was thinking this was going to be a hell of a movie but at the end it fell short of my expectations. Even with Kevin Bacon playing the bad guy, it just didn’t add up in the right way, the characters felt fake and the special effects were crap.

There is a lot of burger places opening up in the Village and a new Village opening up on the other side. Lots of burger places opening up on the other side of it and a few disappointments, but Junkyard isn’t one of them. Its located on the other side of Upper Crust Pizza and simple to find for those who are familiar with the village.
The place is simple and has gritty style to the restuarant, but I got food to go and didn’t bother eating there since I wanted to watch TV at home. I saw the menu and it’s a simple selection, burgers, hot dogs, fries, and couple of other things. I ordered the Junkyard Burger which is a Double Patty with Caramelized Onions & Cheddar Cheese. Got the Chicken Tenders, Fries and Chilli Fries as well.
The burger is a bit small but that seemed to be the perfect size, juicy and the perfect bite. The fries were the normal thin type fries that I like, but the chilli fries weren’t that great and I wouldn’t order that again. The Chicken Tenders were a hit thought, I really liked them and especially the Honey Mustard Sauce. Overall the place is a great quick stop, there are better burgers but their burgers are honestly pretty good and I will repeat. You can find them on Talabat or call them directly on 23901022/33.
A Midwestern war veteran finds himself drawn to the past and lifestyle of his millionaire neighbor.
I lean more to action or science fiction movies, but there are movies at times which surpass your expectations and The Great Gatsby was one of them. I didn’t have a chance to see it in the theaters, and it is a long movie so you have to make time for it. It was worth the wait, a very uniquely done movie, and I was impressed and the sound track is mesmerizing. I really don’t like Tobey Maguire & Leonardo DiCaprio as actors since they annoy me, and Tobey is an asshole but this movie is so good that I could tolerate watching them. Make time for this movie, its worth it.

After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
The first Star Trek movie from JJ Abrams was Epic, it just revitalized the whole franchise, and I was really looking forward to the release of this movie. I didn’t have a chance to see it right away but I heard a few mixed reviews that surprised me. After watching the movie I knew it was one hell of story, about Captain Kirk, about Spock and what they go through the Federation, something totally different. And Khan is the same Khan that was from the original movie, it was a well thought out storyline with some very crazy battle scenes. The story was well thought out and deep, and I like what they did with Khan and very well played. I don’t want to ruin the story but if you are a Trekkie or a fan of Scifi then you have to see this movie.

Iron Man is framed by a technological terrorist and breaks out to clear his name.
This movie from Marvel brings in the usual characters you know from the Iron Man Universe. War Machine is also thrown into the mix of this movie and I really liked how both Iron Man & War Machine were portrayed. Then there is Shield, with it Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, the perfect mix into this movie and they were some very fun characters. The story line is interesting and ties into Iron Man’s past and the animation is fantastic, I loved the Japanese Animation and Modern CGI Hybrid that they are doing these days. It’s an action packed story with Tony Stark following the leads wherever it takes him, fun on every level.
