David Gammell is one the best fantasy writers of our time, he passed a few years back now but his books still live on. The story is of Druss the Legend taking up his battle Axe “Snaga” to help the Drenai once more fight off the Nadir invaders at Dros Delnoch, and new Heroes must rise to fight with Druss. Now this is one of those rare timeless books, it isn’t a Pulitzer prize winning book or something of that nature but one very memorable one. It puts you in the middle of a heroic adventure, full of blood and sweat, dreams and fears, magic and might. At Dros Delnoch they are meant to hold against a horde of warriors who want their blood with 50 to 1 odds against them, a sea of soldiers where you see no end to them. Druss unites these warriors who are but farmers with some Heroic women to fight for whats right, can these soldiers hold on, how will Druss the Legend give them enough hope to survive. The characters are colorful and pull you in, there actions are their words, they fight for what they believe in because that is what Druss gave them. Druss became the Legend not just through his endless battles, but for never losing a battle, for never giving up against the worst odds, and never sacrificing his principles. I bought the 25th Anniversay edition because I knew which book this was, the first one from Gemmell and I have read a few that I love, and I knew that I had to read this, printed in 1984 and reprinted many times and the one I picked up was a 2009 reprint and still an amazing story.

Two years have passed since elite police officer Damien Tomasso (Cyril Raffaelli) teamed up with reformed vigilante Leito (parkour originator David Belle) to save the notorious District 13, a racially charged ghetto populated by violent drug dealing gangs and vicious killers. Despite government promises to maintain order, the state of the district has deteriorated, and a group of corrupt cops and elected officials are conspiring to cause civil unrest in D13. Now Damian and Leito must join forces again, and use their mastery of martial arts and their unique physical skills to bring peace to the neighborhood by any means necessary
District B13 is a gritty, high-flying, no-holds-barred thrill ride. The acrobatic Cyril Raffaelli and David Belle are back with their brand of Parkour ass-kicking to try to save the roughest district of Paris. Cop and criminal, working together, they take on a government that is one button-press away from blowing up their home. The action is a high energy combination of leaps, flips, fights, and car stunts. Never boring, always ridiculous, and constantly fun. One of the most intense action movies I have seen in a while, with a decent story line but the parkour martial arts really makes up for it and the dynamic range of characters.

Slammin CLEON SALMON (Michael Clarke Duncan), the former Heavyweight Champion of the world, a mean, hard, crazy, and sometimes infantile bull of a man, owes $20,000 to the head of the Japanese Yakuza and needs to come up with the money tonight. So he challenges the waiters in the restaurant that he owns, The Slammin Salmon, a high end, boxing themed seafood eatery in Miami, to sell more food than theyve ever sold in their lives. Its going to be a contest between the waiters with some prizes and penalties: the top waiter gets $10,000 cash and the lowest waiter gets the tar kicked out of him by Cleon.
Very few movies know how to tie a ridiculous story with insane characters, and this one does it hilariously. From the makers of Super Troopers comes The Slammin Salmon, there boss is an insane boxer who pulverizes his employees working at the nicest restaurant in Miami. Its hilarious from start to end, and the best part is that most of the waiter are the cops from Super Troopers. Its not as funny as Super Troopers but still pretty damn funny with some insanely hilarious moments. If you want a comedy that will make you laugh your head off and your a fan of Super Troopers then you must watch this movie.

The earth it about to come to an end as man kind knows it and their only savior is in a diner in the middle of the desert. I love supernatural stories and the possiblities that can come from them, even from the bunch of actors held up in this diner like Dennis Quaid, Lucas Black (Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift), Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights), and a few others. I thought this movie was going to be great, or at least entertaining. But it was far from it, the characters tried hard but the story just doesn’t add up and goes completely south, the idea was good but the execution was bad. It felt like parts of stories tried to mash together, and the ending was the worst possible, I was just not expecting the ending to make it even worse, I was annoyed that I was that time, and the only reason I gave it 1.5 stars was because of the effort of the actors.

I have had my iPad 64 GB Wifi for about four days now, and I LOVE IT! There are a few things of course which are annoying but overall I think Apple did an amazing job with the product. The iPad itself feels very good in your hands, I love the Aluminum bezel and they have the right amount of buttons to control the iPad. The screen is amazing, just the perfect amount of brightness and you can really enjoy it, I go through my RSS feeds so smoothly and easily, the one thing is that it attracts finger prints so you have to keep wiping constantly it to keep it clean. Reading comics and watching a few shows on it is pretty good, but after a while you do get tired of looking at the screen, but I got lost using the iPad and forgot the time around me which tells you how much this product pulls you in. But the iPad is only as good as the Applications that you can use with it, and luckily there are quiet a few different applciations from gaming to utilities. I like the buttons on the iPad works smoothly to control the volume and locking it up if need be, and you can lock the screen in a certain vertical or landscape mode which is very smart on their part. What surprised me the most was the battery, with normal use it lasted over a two day period before finishing the battery, watching some TV shows, surfing, reading a couple of comics, and playing video games. Some people complain about the speaker being of lower quality but I honestly think its decent for what the iPad is supposed to do, I was surprised it had one in the first place, if it isn’t what your looking for then plug in a pair of head phones and you are good to go. Another good edition is being able to add any App or even website for that matter to the App bar at the bottom, so you can really put your frequently used Apps and websites in one location.

Do I think every should get an iPad, yes I definately do, Am I addicted to it? Positively! Its not for everyone but everyone who I know has it is really enjoying it, I’m trying to fill mine with as much content as possible so as to use it when I’m traveling and have no wifi connectivity, which is the main purpose in my case, and the comics are doing that perfectly.
I’m a huge fan of Steve Carrel from The Office, and Tina Fey from 30 Rock, but being good on TV doesn’t necessarily mean they will be great on the big screen. Well in this case this movie turned out to be pretty damn funny, the combination of the two with all the other actors was perfect for their insane antics. A case of mistaken identity lead a simple couple who wanted excitement in their lives to become targets of a very bad man. The extent they go to get themselves out of trouble is hilarious, and the damage done to one car was painful. This movie has to be seen and preferably some where that they don’t cut 50% of the movies because of fowl language. Loved every moment of it.

One of those movies which had a lot of hype, a Scorsese movie which had to be seen. Its been a while since I have seen De Caprio in a movie so I was looking forward to it. All I kept hearing was that it was so good, an action thriller movie that had to be seen. De Caprio plays the Federal Detective just after World War 2 going to a psychiatric ward/prison who has a missing person. The settings is a creepy prison which is an old civil war barracks, and these people are treated their, really eerie with a storm coming in. De Caprio and his partner have to find out whats going in this place. The movie kept getting more and more interesting, you think you know where is going, clues are coming together, you are waiting for a big climax and all the pieces to come together. What happens is that it takes a different twist and you just don’t feel satisfied with the ending, I left the movie feeling a bit unsatisfied. It was going at a certain pace and the ending wasn’t the bang I was expecting, its still good Scorsese movie but not one I would watch again.

I have been reading a lot of the reviews about the iPad but the best one yet is done by the guys at UpTill1. For once a review that answers a lot of the questions about a product, you don’t just see the glitz of the product but what you can expect from it. After reading through it I know I want one, but at least you can keep a realistic point of view as to the uses of the machine and the current draw backs. Some of the Applications went too early to market because they are crashing a little too much but lets hope they fix that, overall its still looking good. For the full breakdown head over to UpTill1 to get all the details on it.

Working for the Union as a Repo Man is a very simple job, if people don’t make their payments you take back what they bought. In this case what they buy are organs to keep them alive longer or replace a problematic organ. Remy (Jude Law) is the best of the best, cleanly taking out organs and bringing them back to be resold. An interesting story with an interesting twist towards the middle, Jude Law play an interesting character, a clean cut repo man. He ends up with an artificial heart because of an incident, now he has to pay the Union like everyone else. The movie has some very interesting twists and lots of action, a lot of fun. But watching in Kuwait wouldn’t be advisable since they butcher the movie to the point that you don’t know whats going on at times, things just don’t come together. I can understand sex scenes being cut but the amount that was cut was ridiculous, this movie isn’t a porno its an action thriller. Overall I liked the movie, probably going to see it again once I have a normal version but I wouldn’t watch it in Kuwait.

Discovering covert and faulty intelligence causes U.S. Army Officer Roy Miller to go rogue as he hunts for Weapons of Mass Destruction in an unstable situation. The situation is based on the US Military just as they defeated Iraq in 2004, they are liberated but the country is unstable and some army guys are getting fed up with the bad intel and put in dangerous situations. An action packed movie from the beginning to end, trying to tell the story of the bureaucrats and the guys on the ground, covering up bad intelligence which led to the invasion of Iraq. A nicely thought out movie, and General Al Rawi is the same guy who plays Saddam in House of Saddam. Hollywood has learned to pick the right actors to speak the language and the whole movie fit together nicely. Greengrass is also the director of the Bourne movies, he knows how to make this type of movie work and Matt Damon knows how to work with him. An action packed movie telling a good story about the truth of the actions that took place in the Green Zone.
