After decades of speculation about life on other planets, the people of Earth discover that extraterrestrials really do exist when destruction rains down from the stars on cities all across the globe. When the alien warships descend upon Los Angeles, however, the ferocious invaders discover that humankind won’t go down without a fight as a gruff Marine staff sergeant and his fearless troop of jarheads point their weapons skyward and make one last stand for the entire human race.
Alien invasion and military retaliation, a explosion packed film with a pretty good story line. This movie delivered as the blockbuster movie I was expecting, some freaky aliens and a bunch of marines fighting for their lives. Aaron Eckhart plays the staff sergeant perfectly with his quite demeanor, and its packed with explosions from beginning to end, there is never a quiet moment. If your looking for action and alien invasions then this is the movie for you, don’t expect anything more from it and you won’t be disappointed.

Inspired by author Matt Baglio’s nonfiction book of the same name, director Mikael HÃ¥fström’s supernatural thriller traces the experiences of a young seminary student who discovers the true power of faith after being drafted into the Vatican’s Exorcism School and confronted by the forces of darkness.
I’m a big fan of Anthony Hopkins, I always watch any movie he is in but not every movie is great but he does have a few off movies. When I went to see The Rite I was expecting to see a full on Horror movie staring Anthony Hopkins, it was a good thriller but not the horror movie I was expecting. The dilemma of faith tied into believing in demons was an interesting story but I was expecting to see some more scary stuff thrown into the mix, but that wasn’t the case. Overall its a pretty good movie but could have been better.

Longtime friends Ronny (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Kevin James) are partners in an auto-design firm. They are hard at work on a presentation for a dream project that would really launch their company. Then Ronny spots Nick’s wife out with another man , and in the process of investigating the possible affair, he learns that Nick has a few secrets of his own. As the presentation nears, Ronny agonizes over what might happen if the truth gets out.
I’m always waiting for Vince Vaughn movies and this wasn’t a disappointment, as usual he carries himself easily with all his parts. This time acting opposite Kevin James I knew it was going to be funny and it turned out to be even funnier then I expected. What Vince goes through to try to figure out how to tell his best friend and business partner that his wife is cheating on him is a long hilarious roller coaster and I loved how it played out the whole thing. For a good laugh this movie was just right.

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles’ largest newspaper fortune, is a rich, spoiled playboy who has been happy to maintain a direction-less existence. When his father James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) dies, Britt meets an impressive and resourceful company employee, Kato (Jay Chou). They realize that they have the resources to do something worthwhile with their lives and finally step out of James Reid’s shadow. Kato builds the ultimate weapon, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car with every weapon imaginable and Britt decides that in order to be heroes, they will pose as villains. With the help of Britts new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). He has united all the gangs under his power, and he quickly sees that the Green Hornet is a direct threat to the prosperous criminal underworld he controls.
Its been a while that I have seen a good action comedy and it has to come from Seth Rogen. A cool car with a mix of martial arts and the right dose of Seth Rogen attitude made for a very good film. I wasn’t expecting it to be this funny and still have a slight serious tone to it, so you can take the bad guy seriously as well the screw up super hero. Britt Reid is not your typical super hero and the story of the Green Hornet isn’t an exact match but this is what I a call a good entertaining modern adaptation and I really enjoyed it.

After reading the first book from Barney Stinson I had to get the other two books recently released. One book being The Playbook and the other being Bro On the Go, these are essential reading for any man, it sets the rules and clearly shows a path. Barney Stinson is a man among men, he has cut through all that is confusing for men and made it so simple for any Bro to live his life to his most Awesome potential.
When reading the playbook you can hear the voice of Barney Stinson in your head and you can’t stop laughing at the most insane ideas. Some of them are lame and you wonder how the hell he gets laid, and some are genius but it would take the utmost precision to pull off those plays. Then Bro On The Go gives you all the rules necessary to act in life when in the mall or at the office. Easy light and fun to read, the essential to life from Barney Stinson.

Four Lions tells the story of a group of British jihadists who push their abstract dreams of glory to the breaking point. As the wheels fly off, and their competing ideologies clash, what emerges is an emotionally engaging (and entirely plausible) farce. In a storm of razor-sharp verbal jousting and large-scale set pieces, Four Lions is a comic tour de force; it shows that-while terrorism is about ideology-it can also be about idiots.
This was a surprising title much better then I expected and a completely different story then I was expecting. This movie about terrorism surpassed all my expectations and took a different route then I thought it would. These guys tried to be extremests for their own idiotic reasons and as things developed they are lucky they didn’t kill themselves but the what did happen was hilarious. It just shows that some people can be real idiots, they aren’t making fun of anyone but themselves and walked a fine line perfectly so they could turn it into an interesting and fun comedy, I really enjoyed the movie.

American tourist Frank (Johnny Depp) meets a mysterious beauty who drags him into a dangerous world of intrigue and espionage while traveling through Europe. When Frank met Elise (Angelina Jolie) on the train, he thought it was a chance encounter. Little did Frank realize it was all part of a much bigger plan, one that would soon find him dodging bullets through both the historic streets of Paris and the winding canals of Venice. Now, the faster Frank and Elise run, the more intense their romance grows.
I kept hearing a lot of buzz around this movie, and I always go to any movie that stars Johnny Depp. People talked about Angelina Jolie that she is the star of the show but I’m a bit tired of her these days, she is over hyped and some of her movies haven’t been to great. Together they did a really good job of playing off each other and pulling the storyline together and Johnny Depp did a fantastic job playing the dumb American, you couldn’t help but feel sorry for the guy and he kept getting into trouble. The movie was and ended with a great twist, and I really like how from the halfway point to the end of the movie it was energetic, full of action, and fun.

An ex-con sets out to avenge his brother’s death after they were double-crossed during a heist years ago. During his campaign, however, he’s tracked by a veteran cop and an egocentric hit man.
Dwanye Johnson aka The Rock is BACK! Now this is a movie that The Rock should be doing, a high intensity action packed movie. Dwanye Johnson is a man on a path of revenge and not taking any prisoners, he is knocking people out and killing them without a second thought, not even another assassin can stop him, revenge is all the push th. Its a pretty deep movie with an underlying story that comes together as time goes by, you get a satisfying end but no the typical one your used to. The Rock is badass in this movie and I love it, I hope he keeps making movies like these.

It is about around Yip Man’s resistance against invading foreigners, along with his romantic relations while under the tutelage of three Wing Chun masters.
This revolves around IP Mans’ earlier stage in life and how he developed to be a Wing Chun Martial Arts master later on in his life. It seems that he had a talent for Martial Arts at a young age, and this movie depicts it as well as the early involvements of the Japanese in China during the early 20th century. Donnie Yen was the original Ip Man in the first movie, now they went for a younger Dennis To and I wouldn’t mess with him either. I love the martial arts in this movie, its precise, lots of action and a really good story. I still think the original movie which inspired the rest was the best movie but still this is really good and really worth watching!

With an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train barreling toward a city, a veteran engineer and a young conductor race against the clock to prevent a catastrophe.
Denzel Washington knows how to pick his movies, and especially when its a true story. I have also been a fan of Chris Pine since Star Trek so I was looking forward to this fast paced adrenaline rush of a movie. Denzel comes off as the old guy teaching the new guy (Chris) how to operate a train in real life, and as thats going on a pair of idiots mess up a train move when it turns into a half mile long moving missile. The story is simple but you are kept at the edge of your seat wondering how they will use the laws of physics and these machines to slow and stop this catastrophe. You get the story of the guys on the train, their different lives, and things pick up with this train as solution after solution doesn’t work. Action, Suspense and a good amount of wit thrown into a good story!
