Review: Contraband...

To protect his brother-in-law from a drug lord, a former smuggler heads to Panama to score millions of dollars in counterfeit bills.

A great actor with a great story, and the supporting cast do a fantastic job to deliver this story that has so many twist and turns you don’t know what to expect. Kate Beckinsale as the wife, Ben Foster as the best friend, Giovanni Ribisi as the Drug Lord behind everything, a movie well worth watching they pull off the impossible, and Mark goes back to his life of crime after going legit to protect his family.

Review: Blood C...

Saya is a seemingly normal girl living with her father in a shrine. During the day she goes to school and spends time with her friends at a local cafe. But when night falls Saya is called upon to protect her village from strange monsters.

Going into Blood C I thought it was going to be sort of like Blood Trinity, vampires and fighting with a lot of battles. But it didn’t turn out that way, it revolved around Saya fighting these monsters and protecting her family and friends. At first the anime started off a bit slow, I wanted to see what it would bring, there was something hidden and honestly I couldn’t tell exactly where the story was going and I had my suspicions but for a 12 episode show it could have been a lot better. There is too much wasted story and the ending honestly was over the top, the last two episodes put everything together and it was totally unexpected and good but it made the first initial episodes look like crap. This anime was honestly confusing it wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad, and the graphics was pretty good, and I was surprised how graphically violent the anime was, it was extreme more then I expected from this show. I was planning to give it a 2.5 out of 5 but because of the last few episodes I’m giving it a 3.5 out of 5, still slightly confused but still I liked it.

Review: Goon...

Labeled an outcast by his brainy family, a bouncer overcomes long odds to lead a team of under performing misfits to semi-pro hockey glory, beating the crap out of everything that stands in his way.

I thought this was going to be more of a slapstick comedy but turned out to be a lot better then that. Seann William Scott takes his roles to the extreme, but this role was extreme in a different way, he perfected his character it was funny and great to watch. I’m not a fan of hockey but this movie was fun and entertaining, an action comedy with hockey as the base of the story, watch and enjoy.

Review: Justice League – Doom...

Vandal Savage steals confidential files Batman has compiled on the members of the Justice League, and learns all their weaknesses.

Short and Sweet, another DC Movie with the Justice League facing another formidable enemy. This time around the Justice League face several foes separating them and neutralizing them. The animation is decent and story gets interesting, I wanted it to get deeper to give it that more depth but it was entertaining and for a short movie it was entertaining, if you are fan of DC Comics or animation that you will enjoy this movie.

Lytro – Review...

I have been looking forward to getting my hands on the Lytro for a very long since its built on a new type of photography technology, basically allowing you to focus the picture after taking it. I had very high hopes for it be amazing, especially since its very oddly designed, not your regular camera, but I was waiting for some reviews to make a decision, and this is honestly the best and most thorough review I have seen by far. After watching the video and reading at article at the verge I don’t think I will be getting the current incarnation of the Lytro since it has a few drawbacks and limitations which can be overcome over time, so I’m gonna wait for a little while for next generation of this camera before making a purchase. Review: Tiger & Bunny...

Plot Summary: Sternbild City is home to people called “Next,” who use their special abilities to protect the people as superheroes. These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire “hero points.” Their activities are documented on the popular program “Hero TV,” which picks the “King of Heroes” in a yearly ranking. The veteran hero Wild Tiger has always preferred to work alone, but now he’s been assigned the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr., who has a different perspective on being a superhero.

I always do enjoy these types of anime, short and sweet, but it keeps getting a little bit more complex and they always leave a bit of mystery which is very good. Humans start developing Powers which they call NEXT and each power is different from the other, and the best of them become Heros protecting the city and each Hero is backed by a Sponsor which is a very capitalistic idea. The action is there right away and you hit the ground running meeting all the characters, and this anime revolves around two of them, Tiger & Barnaby or Bunny as they call him. Then the story starts digging deeper and you get connected with all the characters and how things develop with the story line. The best part is reaching the end but then whats great is that just enough is left for another season and more of the story to dig deeper and darker into what was waiting in the background. Basically an anime worth watching and very entertaining.

Review: A Good Old Fashioned Orgy...

A group of 30-year-olds who have been friends since high school attempt to throw an end-of-summer orgy.

This movie is not for the faint of heart, the title gives you an idea but its also a ridiculous comedy. I think they threw all the preconceptions to the wind and went with it, some of these guys were hilarious. They are friends always throwing parties and this one is a going out party for the summer, and what ensues is fantastic. Not to ruin it for anyone but its worth it if you like these sort of raunchy comedies, and if you do then you will love it. And Tyler Labine (The Fat Guy With The MoHawk) is hilarious, he literally just takes it to another level.

Review: The Three Musketeers...

The hot-headed young D’Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war.

The Original movie from the 90s is one that I loved and so this one movie I was looking forward to. My favorite character out of the bunch was Porthos since he is all about brute force, the bald guy in the pictures. The Musketeers serve the King of France yet the Cardinal serving the King of France is plotting against them all so it gets interesting. And the storyline this time around is a lot more fun with Disney/Pirates Of The Caribbean feel to it, its a lot of fun and a great end that I wasn’t expecting. From what I can tell their is going to be a sequel and its something I will be looking forward to.

Review: Thor – Tales Of Asgard...

The young Norse god Thor embarks on a quest with his brother Loki to find and recover a legendary sword.

Direct To DVD movies from DC Comics & Marvel are pretty good, and some are amazing and this one from Marvel is pretty good, not the best they have done but still a different portrayal of the young God of Thunder. Thor is portrayed as a young God in Asgard who is sick of being cooped up in Asgard and and so sets off on an adventure to recover a powerful sword. The story is pretty good, you have to be familiar with Thor and Asgard characters to a degree and I really liked the animation it was bit more on the fun side but I liked how the story progressed. An entertaining animation if you are into Marvel & DC.
