Review: The Dictator...

The heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.

General Aladeen is probably one of the most offensive characters that Sacha Baron Cohen has come up with and I loved every moment of it. I honestly think this is one of his funniest movies, Borat was funny because of the things that were being done to people in the most remote places it was a reality tv movie, but this went in another direction it was a movie, a ridiculous story with hilarious characters. One hour and twenty three minutes of pure laughter, and it does have its funny vulgar moments. If you are going to watch this be sure to watch the uncut version even if you have to wait, its worth it.

Review: Sonos Play 3...

There is no denying that I am a huge fan of Sonos, there products are in several places in my house, music on the go, different tunes to different rooms. The best part is that it is always working and the sound is beautiful. Recently I have needed to setup another unit, and the one that fit the best was the Sonos Play 3. I read some reviews on the quality of sound and for it’s size its packs a punch, and if you get two of them you can set them up for Stereo output so they are treated as one, not just grouping them together. Setting up a Sonos unit could not be any easier, take it out, plug it in, and then go to the Sonos Controller “Add A Sonos” then you click buttons on the unit and it is added to the system.

The Sonos system is the most flexible music medium out there, you can use any source from your iTunes, an HD filled with music, or an online resource like IHeartRadio, SiriusXM, Pandora, or Spotify. Multiple sources playing in different rooms at the same time all controlled through the software. The software got improved and simpler recently since it is probably the most confusing part but it isn’t too bad. But the software aside I was impressed with this unit.
Stream your entire music library, music services, and radio stationsControl wirelessly, easy to set up music playerStart with one music player, expand everywhereVersatile enough to put anywhere — horizontal or vertical3 driver HiFi speaker system

hey really try to pack good sounding parts into their hardware and the Sonos Play 3 is no different. It is a little bigger then I expected but I like the feel of it, the only major drawback for me was the price, its only $100 less then the Sonos Play 5 which is a powerhouse in comparison but still the sound is very rich for a unit of it’s size. Just don’t expect the bass to be that great at higher volumes, sort of falls short since it doesn’t have a dedicated sub-woofer like the Sonos Play 5.

Review: The Amazing Spiderman...

Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner.

I walked into this movie expecting to be blown away, I really liked Andrew Garfield playing as Spiderman and I avoided watching any trailers because I didn’t want to ruin the story or surprises. I just got annoyed with Tobey Maguire after the second one, the guy just felt damn annoying and he was a prick. This story started out different, not exactly 100% like the story and both Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy are cooler characters and smarter, I like how we saw the nerdier side of Peter Parker, and Emma Stone turned out to be a really good fit for Gwen Stacy. Martin Sheen & Sally Fields as Uncle Ben and Aunt May couldn’t have been a better pic, they were veteran actors with a lot to give and this time they are a larger role to play which I liked. It told a good story and I loved Andrew Garfield as Spiderman because he even had a damn good sense of humor and looked like he had fun playing Spiderman too but there was just one thing that was missing to this movie. The bad guy just wasn’t bad enough, or the build up between them just wasn’t what I was expecting, and Oscorp felt to be a side note. I liked the movie, but I wanted to love it, I just wanted more out of it.

Superman vs. The Elite...

Superman’s effectiveness as a super hero comes into question when a new group of super powerful crusaders, known as “The Elite” appear on the scene, led by British public identity hero Manchester Black. As super heroes, the Elite know no bounds, and are more than willing to kill, even on a massive scale, to stop villainy—putting them on a collision course with the ever-ethical and decidedly non-lethal Man of Steel.

This movie just didn’t click with me the wait I want it to. Seems like it had some good and interesting ideas in it but overall it does a bad job at handling and developing them in the story. But if you are into Superman or just superhero stories in general, this animated movie is still well worth checking out. It still has plenty of superhero action in it, as well as some other familiar genre aspects. But the villans in it just felt weak, there was no major development for them, but I liked the action towards the end, made it more exciting to see Superman in this way. The main idea is questioning where the world needs a hero with morals like Superman or one that would do whatever needs to be done and more like The Elites. If you like animated superhero movies, then this is worth watching.

Review: Prometheus...

A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

A quasi-prequel to Alien by Ridley Scott doesn’t answer all the question, but it’s redeemed by its haunting visual grandeur and compelling performances, especially Michael Fassbender as a fastidious android. I had the original Alien with Sigourney Weaver, guns blasting, Aliens vs. Humans scenario going through my mind, what I got instead was a scientific thriller, bringing a few things together as to the origins of the Alien as well as leaving you with a lot of questions. Ridley Scott really went beyond expectations with the effects, you really feel as if you are in Alien world, just discovering one aspect of the Engineers after another, I just kept thinking of when the Alien (The Monster) would pop out but it wasn’t about them. The story leaves you with more questions then answers and I think there might be a sequel based on the ending.

Scandal – Must Watch Show...

Olivia has left her role as White House Communications Director for the President to start her own crisis management firm. She is a professional ‘fixer’ who makes problems go away before anyone even knows they exist.

This show is only 7 episodes but it’s insane, I wasn’t expecting it to turn out this way and I watched it basically over two days, the only free time I had was spent watching all the episodes. The story is about Olivia Pope and how she fixes things in Washington DC, and most of the time for the right people, and sometimes for the White House. I love the eccentric characters, there are some messed up people in this show, and it goes in directions you are not expecting, the story pulls you in from the first second, by the 6th episode I wanted to punch my laptop, I couldn’t believe how it got twisted up, its been renewed for season 2. If you haven’t seen it, watch it, you will thank me later.

American Reunion...

Jim, Michelle, Stifler, and their friends reunite in East Great Falls, Michigan for their high school reunion.

If you loved American Pie then you will love this, 13 years later the same four guys are back together for their highschool reunion. Things just get as crazy, these guys are just as funny, and Stiffler is just as essential to this movie as everyone else. There were times that I was jumping up and laughing, then there were times that you could remember the 90s. For whoever saw this in 99 its going to bring back some memories, you won’t believe how young some of these guys were then I thought of how young we were watching it back then. If you want a great comedy then this is it.

Mustard Burger – The New Burger Jo...

I do love burger places but not every one of them gets every thing right, there are a few places that get it right, the right type of meat with the perfect bun. This time around I tried a double cheese burger and cheese fries from Mustard Burger and right now they are only available for pick up from Tilal and delivery.

The Burger is simple and tastes really good, the buns are really good too, very few places get the buns right but Mustard Burger gets it perfect and I loved it. I ate the double cheese burger and it hit the spot, sometimes if I have food late at night it ends up causing heartburn if its too oily but in this case it was perfect. I would recommend it to everyone, sometimes their phone lines get busy but its worth the wait.

The Menu is Simple:

  • Cheese Burger
  • Double Cheese Burger
  • Chicken Burger
  • Fries & Cheese Fries

Review: Men In Black 3...

Agent J travels in time to MIB’s early years in the 1960s, to stop an alien from assassinating his friend Agent K and changing history.

This is the one I was waiting for, Will Smith coming back to the big screen. Its been a very long time since Will Smith has been in a movie, but he never fails to impress and this one its back to the fun Will we all know. When they say third time is the charm this was it, the story was fantastic, you really jump into the Men in Black rythem of them movie with Will Smith at the helm of it. Agent J & Agent K back into it as usual, and they picked the perfect guy to play a young Agent K. The funny thing is they went and explained interesting and abnormal things that happened in the 60s as we know history to be alien related. Very part of this movie was great and I loved every moment of it, for the third iteration of this trilogy, with all the funny moments and action packed scenes there was still a lot in this movie that brought all the stories together, this is the best one. I’m crossing my fingers for a fourth one but not too far down the line, but if they end with this one, this is the perfect ending.

Review: 21 Jump Street...

A pair of underachieving cops are sent back to a local high school to blend in and bring down a synthetic drug ring. In high school, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) was a dork and Jenko (Channing Tatum) was the popular jock. After graduation, both of them joined the police force and ended up as partners riding bicycles in the city park. Since they are young and look like high school students, they are assigned to an undercover unit to infiltrate a drug ring that is supplying high school students synthetic drugs.

Its been a while since I have seen a movie thats this funny, and these two guys pulled it off. 21 Jump Street has nothing to do with the original show from the 90s with Johnny Depp. The only major similarity is that they are young looking cops who infiltrate a high-school and it ends about there, but Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum make for a very interesting comedic duo, which even surprised me with their combination. There are moments that my popcorn went flying because I was laughing so hard, almost choked on some popcorn too, they were ridiculous in this movie and I loved it. Even you haven’t seen it then you should, its worth it but some scenes are gonna get censored because of some of the crazy things they do so watch it at home if you can.
