Shift in Pattern...

This diet has been working out, a little at slow pass but there has been progress and I do sleep light. The nutritionist wasn’t too impressed with the results for the past two weeks, but I managed to keep things in check. I’m making progress and even after a meal my weight was 98 kgs, 2.5 kgs from the last time he saw me.

I think I need to exercise a little more, and get some real cardio into this routine. At least 30 to 40 minutes a day and that will help.

The Diet this Week:

Breakfast

  1. Frosties W/ Milk
  2. Toast W/ Milk
  3. Fruit W/ Milk
  4. Fruit W/ Milk
  5. Repeat from Beginning

Lunch:

  1. Grilled Meat w/ Salad
  2. 5 pieces of Sushi w/ Salad
  3. Fish w/ Salad
  4. Repeat

Afternoon:

  • Apple

Sunset:

  • 3 Dates

Dinner:

  • Salad and Yogurt (Everyday)

I try to stick to this as much as possible, I do get one free day but there are some days that I do mess around a bit, like the other day I had a cesear salad for breakfast and I was really happy about it.

Gear Issues...

I was driving out of my house on Friday early morning going to pass by some the family. As I was getting to the light there was a small jolt while it was down shifting, didn’t think much of it. When the light turned green I stepped on the gas, but the car didn’t shift into gear. I was slightly in perplexed and wasn’t sure what was going on, I switched the car on and off. It drove but as if the gear was barely catching so I went back home and parked the car. It was a Friday and the dealership was closed, so I had to wait until Saturday to take the car in. I called the flatbed to come pick up the car and it arrived around 7:30 am and I went with it to the dealership.

I had one worry during this time, I’m sure the gear wasn’t damaged since it was shifting into all the gears. It could have been the hydraulic pump or the clutch or something else. My main worry was that GulfRun is in about three weeks and there is no way I can miss it, I have been looking forward to it for months now. I spoke to the service man and then I pass by again around 1:00 pm, and called back around 2:30 pm. The final diagnosis and they verified it after they took the transmission down is that my clutch was at the end of its life.  The workshop manager asked me how was I driving the car, I told him “lightly” and started laughing. Luckily there was one part in stock and they will fix it right away, the whole process takes about 3 days due to the complexity of the location. Hopefully that is the only thing that is broken, and I can have the car back on the road soon.

The Drop...

It has been an interesting 11 days since this whole fiasco started, my intention is to lose weight and now I’ve started to feel it. After about 6 days I lost 1.5 KGs, and now after 11 days I have dropped from 102.5 Kg to just under 97 Kg which feels good. I didn’t really feel the weight lose as much as I don’t feel as hungry anymore. I don’t eat much through out the day. and I don’t get that hungry. I tend to eat small meals, and at this point I get about 35 mins of excercise a day to burn some energy. Some days I didn’t excercise instead I went riding for over an hour and half, and the weather is fantastic these days. I hope I can keep this up and my target is to get to the 80 Kgs, one big difference is that sleeping light does feel good, and since I don’t have that much energy in me I pass out early.

I’m Starving...

I think at this point I’m sloberring at the keyboard, I’m so hungry I feel like my stomach is really empty. Usually I can’t sleep with an empty stomach but at this point I’m just passing out from lacking of energy. Its late and I’m really craving a chilli cheese hotdog with chilli cheese fries, and maybe a chili bowl. I’m also thinking about the one Phili Chease Steak Sandwich store down the road from my apartment in the US, I could even taste it, and they only made variations of that sandwich. I’m really craving that Phili Cheese Steak Sandwich, I remember always being satisfied after eating those sandwiches.

Major Cravings...

I’ve been sticking to this diet, feeling a rabbit at times eating lettuce and nothing else. This is really funny, its always these small meals that still leave me hungry for a little more. I honestly have no major problems with the small meals and I do like cold water so I just tend to drink a lot of water but the main issue that I’m having is at night.

At night I have this small dish which doesn’t do much for me, and all feel like eating is Chinese food. Manchurian Chicken, Kung Poa Shrimp/Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Stir Fry Chicken, House Special Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, Sweet and Sour Chicken/Shrimp, Beef Brocolli, and the list keeps going. I remember the late night take out Chinese when I used to leave the computer lab late at night from university. You know its not good when you dream of Chinese food at night, I do laugh at myself, but the dream is so real I can even remember the taste of the food!

The Menu...

So I have started the detoxing period and I don’t think its that bad, some people freaked out about it. I just finished the 2nd day of the track, and so another 5 days left. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth so I didn’t mind no sweets, and I didn’t have a sugar crash, not just yet.

  • Breakfast: Water + 1 Apple
  • Noon: 5 Nuts + 1 Apple
  • Lunch: 1/4 of Chicken + Salad
  • Afternoon: 2 Dates + Lettuce
  • Dinner: Varying on the day, had Soup Day One and Tabooleh Day Two.

Its honestly not too bad, I get hungry very quickly and I don’t feel too heavy at all. I just want to sleep earlier then usual because I run out of energy. I still went out riding on my own for bit but when I started feeling tired I headed home, it felt good to ride but I’m craving rice.

ShootSac & A Book...

Its always nice getting something in the mail, or to be exact the Aramex box. I ordered the book a while back and the ShootSac as well, it seems they came together.

  • Infinite Crisis – Greg Cox
  • ShootSac (Lens Bag)

I have wanted this book after finishing Craig Cox’s 52 which was an amazing novel, Infinite Crisis was the novel that I couldn’t put down so my assumption was that the novel before it was just as good. Now I just have to finish the books I’m reading now to start this novel.

I have been in need of a bag which can carry my lenses while I’m taking some shots. I tend to switch lenses back and forth, and this turned out to be the perfect back. It molds around when your leaning in for a shot, and it pretty much fits any size lens, except for those huge lenses the rest fit fine. It is a high quality bag but comes with a price, but what I find odd is the low quality of the strap and since you are carrying it around constantly I would expect it to be more comfortable around the shoulder after long periods of carrying.

Scaling Down...

Or to be exact, I need to scale down at this point, or drop some weight. I went to the nutritionist for the first time, never been to one before and I have always been skeptical, but not after seeing how my friends have lost weight for the past few months, and it has been to extreme. Today is the day I start the “detoxing” week, he simply testing the reaction of my metabolism to his shock of a diet.

I explained to him what is my eating schedule and vices when it comes to food. He took my weight and height, I need to get some blood work done for him to gauge me. My BMI (Body Mass Index) rate is pretty high and he said that I am Obese, and close to super obese. I honestly laughed when he said that, I don’t think it was the reaction he was expecting. My weight right now is 102.5 KG, my ideal BMI weight is between 72 Kg and 77 Kg, which I have never been since adulthood. My aim was to get to the low 80s and get my stamina back more then anything else. But this is going to be interesting and I will be starving for the first week, so lets see how this goes. And since this started today, I ate to my heart’s content yesterday!

RSS Pile Up...

If I don’t read my feeds at least every two days then this is what happens. With 1000+ posts to go through, about 600 are some that I skim through for motorcycle and gaming news, but then there are the ones that I really do read through them. It takes time but its pretty entertaining to say the least, who doesn’t enjoy going through their RSS feeds.
