I am a huge fan of all Predators movies, since Schwarzenegger to the AVP series which were pretty bad. I always liked the Predators as noble hunting creatures which only acknowledge strength but the last few movies were nothing short of a disaster, nothing beats the first two and I loved the one with Danny Glover. I heard of the reboot and was a bit worried about it but it seems that Robert Rodriguez has taken it back to its original story with a depth of cast that is going to make it one hell of a summer blockbuster. An Elite Warriors picked from Earth are dropped on the Predator homeworld to be hunted as game for the Predators, but this time there are different kinds of Predators, “Super Predators” as previously hinted with different ones specialized in different types of combat. The interesting part is this Elite Warriors, part of the team is Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne, but the trailer will get you worked up to see this movie in July.

Now this is something I have been waiting for a while, a remake of the old Japanese Animated tv show which we all knew and enjoyed. I expected a lot for this movie, its probably a build up from childhood memories but the story isn’t exactly what I expected or the voices, honestly Nicolas Cage was a bit annoying as Dr. Tenma but Astro Boy was a good character. Astro Boy is built from the memories of Dr. Tenma’s son and he set off to find himself after he discovers that he is a robot. Now the story has some twists and turns, but always entertaining, humoring with the laws of robotics and the attitude that humans take to robots even though their artificial intelligence allows them to understand humans clearly. An entertaining movie, I honestly expected something a little edgier but it was a lot of fun to watch.

Now this is an interesting movie that I heard nothing about, I usually look for cool animated movies and now this comes along from Dreamworks pictures. I saw the review over at Ananyah, she got a sneak peak of the movie before its 26th of March release. I like how they made a fun unique story based on Vikings and Dragons, and the animation looks fantastic, I always love this type of humor in these animated movies. I will be the first one at the door to watch this movie, its going to be fun.

Since reading Iron Man back as a kid I always considered War Machine to be the bad-ass version of Iron Man, “Shoot First, Ask Questions Later” type of guy who would use that ridiculously powerful suit. Now Hot Toys has went ahead with a Iron Man 2 movie detailed model based on War Machine and Don Cheadle, it has all the weapons and arc reactor that lights up. I think this is an amazingly detailed model that shows all the features of War Machine, but I’m not a big fan of the moving types of toys, I prefer the stationary kind for display purposes, but nonetheless this is one cool model. It supposed to be released towards the of Q2 2010 or beginning of Q3 but no pricing announced yet.

I love Statham action flicks he really knows how to play the badass, and in this remake of the 1972 movie “The Mechanic” he pulls all the stops for it. The cast combination is pretty good Jason Statham is the main hitman taking care of different people based on the “jobs”, and Steve McKenna (Ben Foster) as his apprentice to become a hitman. Ben Foster knows how to play those mean and crazy looking guy perfectly with just a touch of insanity, he pulls of the character who becomes evil perfectly. With Donald Sutherland thrown into the mix, it looks like its going to be an perfect action-thriller movie.
Recently I have been downloading everything and anyting that I can watch, some good movies and some bad. For some reason I enjoy watching horror movies even crappy ones, they make me laugh but other people have to be around just so I won’t be the only freaked out. Animated movies I have to watch it on my own or with the right crowd, I hate if anyone ruins a good animated movie. The Blind Side, The Bad Lieutenant Port Of Call New Orleans, Astro Boy, The Cove, and The Rebound are one of the main ones I want to watch. Some of them I have already seen which pretty good like Sherlock Holmes, Armored, and The Men Who Stare At Goats. I always like having a choice of movies to choose from, depending on what I am feeling like.
The Movies:
At 9 inches tall this is a very cool Iron Man 2 bust from Hot Toys. They have released other models such a full figure Iron Man 2 and War Machine but I prefer the ones from Kotobukiya Iron Man 2 but this bust is really cool. Especially since Hot Toys are known for their attention to detail, the Arc Reactor and eyes are light up. A perfect bust to sit on a desk looking as a good as this Iron Man model.

I think this is a classic story that a lot of us are familiar with and I was happy that Tim Burton took the project and turned it into a film. From all the previews and Johnny Depps presence I knew that I wanted to see this movie. The funny part is we all know the story from our childhood and what is the story with the caterpillar with so many hookahs, they said the director was on LSDs at the time. Then there are all these kids in the theater see it for the first time, it was a mix of a crowd. The story is in bland England with a odd Alice seeing things when others dont, then she falls into the hole and it takes a different twist. The whole adventure is a lot of fun, so many funny characters, the Red Queen was hilarious, and I loved Chester the cat, always smiling and disappearing and reappearing when needed. The story line is fantastic, just to be expected from Tim Burton, but I wanted more of Johnny Depp, and Alice fit the bill perfectly. The fun never stops, there is always something going on and you know what is supposed to happen at the end but not how its supposed to happen and things just keep popping up, it was a really fun movie and I loved the Mad Hatter, he was really mad.

It’s the 21st century, but the gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters have walked out of the pages of high school student Percy Jackson’s Greek mythology texts and into his life. And they’re not happy: Zeus’ lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Even more troubling is the sudden disappearance of Percy’s mother. As Percy finds himself caught between angry and battling gods, he and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save Percy’s mom, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.
A new twist on Greek Mythology, Percy Jackson is thrown into a world of monsters and Gods, and he is tasked with a mission which he must accomplish or earth will be a casualty of war between Gods. Percy Jackson is a normal highschool kid with a few problems here and there, the last thing he expected to be was the son of Poseidon. The story has a creative style to it with a thin line between reality and the realm of the gods which exists around us. It was an adventure to see all these Greek characters come to life and who they would be embodied by as actors and their nature. Lots of fun as the movie progresses and he develops his powers trying to accomplish the mission while trying to protect his family and fight off other creatures and demons. A lot of fun for any fantasy movie fan, not the Harry Potter they were expecting at the Box Office but worth watching.

I think that Russel Crowe is a jerk, but he is also a phenomenal actor, probably one of the best at portraying whatever character he chooses. Now he has taken the role of Robin Hood, the last Robin Hood I remember was with Kevin Costner back in the 90s, and then there were Men in Tights, but that was just funny. Aside from those movies, this is taking Robin Hood into an Epic film, as some critics are already saying it, its going to be another Gladiator. I still watch Gladiator every once in a while and I still get moved by that movie, something about it just hits your core, the injustice and more. Now the trailer for Robin Hood seems to be fantastic and you don’t feel that it is doing it justice, your just taking a small bite of a juicy story. Ridley Scott is the director of many of my favorite movies, here are a few he has directed Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, and American Gangster, so hopefully he will take this story to the next level.
