Superman/Batman: APOCALYPSE – AWES...

“WE ARE ALL HERE BECAUSE EACH OF US, IN OUR ON WAY, FIGHTS FOR THE HOPE OF A BETTER TOMORROW”

I can’t get enough of those original comic movies, its great that the movies are doing well that Marvel and DC Comics are going and ahead and producing these high quality original movies for all the comic fans. And this storyline is fantastic, with Darkseid and Kara/Supergirl coming into the picture, Batman & Superman are faced with the biggest threat they have seen. What I like is that they are going into the depth of the Superman/Batman storyline and pulling out the guys and glory to deliver to the fans. The trailer has me excited and I’m really looking forward to it.

Synopsis:

After a spaceship splashes down in Gotham City Harbor, Batman and Superman encounter a mysterious Kryptonian with powers as great as those of the Man of Steel. The Kryptonian is soon revealed to be Kara, cousin of Superman, who takes her under his wing to educate her about the ways of Earth. However, the villainous Darkseid has other plans. Seeing an opportunity to finally defeat Superman, Darkseid abducts and gains control of Kara, utilizing the powerful Kryptonian to do his bidding. It’s up to Batman and Superman to save Kara, but they’ll have to take the fight to Darkseid within his hostile world – where unknown, deadly threats lurk around every corner, including a brainwashed Kryptonian able to match Superman blow-for-blow.

Despicable Me – Trailer...

Gru an evil scientist planning one evil scheme after another, little yellow minions to control, an arch enemy to deal with, and three orphans drop into his lap to flip his life upside down. Gru is played by Steve Carrel and it looks like an entertaining movie, not one of those great movies but still entertaining.

The Expendables – Trailer...

Explosions! Old Buff Sweaty Men! Fighting! Fire! Death! Shooting! Destruction! Yelling! Action! Betrayal! One Girl! Bad Guys! Good Guys! Hats! Sunglasses! South America! Weapons! Mission! Mercenaries! Stallone! Schwartzenegger! Statham! Willis! Li! Lundren! Couture! Crews! Austin! Rourke! The Expendables!

Now this is going to be an entertaining movie, I love that Stallone took the lead on this to put this crew of kick ass action actors into one explosive movie. An old school action packed movie which will deliver the goods, just watch the trailer and enjoy. Can’t wait for August 13th to come along!

Review: Hot Tub Time Machine...

This is one of the comedies I have been waiting for and it completely lived up to my expectations, there were great moments and many moments of gut wrenching laughter. Four guys get into the bathtub in a broken down ski town to end up in their past, in 1986 to be exact, and they don’t what the hell to do. Its hilarious what these guys go through, John Cusak played the solid guy with a crappy life while Clark Duke (Jacob), Craig Robinson (Nick Webber), and Rob Corddry (Lou) have the more comedic parts, and their parts are hilarious, especially Nick and Lou. The story just flows and its funny, the music is fantastic, all the great music from the 80s that you enjoy is played perfectly in this movie, gets you jumping, and you will love the band scene towards the end if you haven’t seen it. And I just loved the ending of the movie, you wouldn’t want it any other way.

Top Anticipated Sci-Fi Movies of 2011...

GreenLantern

2011 is a year to look forward to for Sci-Fi movies, some more then others but 2010 wasn’t disappointing year for movies, and still a lot more to go but a lot of movies that have been in the works for a while now are targeted for release in 2011. Green Lantern for me is at the top of my list, Captain America is up there as well even though I’m not too keen on Chris Evans but I have my fingers crossed. X-Men: First Class is an unknown, I’m really hoping its going to be great, and I’m really looking forward to Transformers 3 which is supposed to wrap up the supposed Trilogy most importantly, is more based on a story then just senseless action (even though senseless action is pretty good too)

  • Green Lantern
  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • X-Men: First Class
  • Transformers 3
  • Super 8
  • The Green Hornet
  • Battle Los Angeles

Review: The Karate Kid...

A lot of remakes have been made recently, and Karate Kid was at the top of my list. I’m a huge fan of Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith has a lot of potential. The story of a kid moving to China from Detroit and having no friends and doesn’t speak Chinese. Jaden plays the role of the kid who gets beat up and learns Kung Fu from Jackie Chan to face his fears and beat everyone. The story is told a different way then the original but I like the route they took, makes it less cheesy and pulls you into the story. I was a bit annoyed with some of the supporting characters, they should have been a little bit more colorful, a little bit more attitude. The relationship between Jackie Chan and Jaden in the movie as Master and Student is great, with the right amount of humor. And the fighting is pretty good, you could tell he went through a lot of training, I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but it was a funny movie to watch, I wanted it to be better but I had high expectations, still a fun movie to watch.

Green Hornet – Trailer...

GreenHornet1

Ok I wasn’t too sure about Seth Rogan as the Green Hornet, but just watching the trailer it looks pretty good. Kato used to work with his father and now has to work with the son who is a party boy (Seth Rogan). Now the movie seems to have some good action packed into it, and comedic twist with Seth Rogan, even though it looks like Kato is doing all the punching. I like that they have brought it to modern times with a retro look, its going to be a fun movie.

The Last of Harry Potter...

HarryPotterEnding

Now they have officially wrapped up the production of all the Harry Potter movies, I can’t believe its been so long. I refused to read all the books of Harry Potter because I knew it would ruin the movies for me, and I have loved every movie released, I remember even delaying a trip to watch the release Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005. I will probably be doing a marathon before the next release of Harry Potter. The first movie was released in 2000 and the last one is to be released in 2011, a full decade of amazing Harry Potter movies and I just can’t get enough of it. I love a lot of the characters in the movies, and all of them have been well done. At least we have two more movies to look forward to, I hope they end it on a high note, I don’t know what to expect but I know its going to be great.

Release Dates:

  • Nov. 19, 2010 – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
  • July 15, 2011 – Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows Part 2

Review: The A-Team...

I knew this movie is going to be a fun movie, but not as good as it turned out to be. They redifined mindless fun, you just can’t get enough explosions, bullets flying and insane stunts. In the original the show revolved around BA “Barracus” or Mr.T and Murdock, Face and Hannibal weren’t that great, but this time around Barracus had the same attitude that people could relate to plus a little more originality, Murdock in the movie is a total nut case in the movie, he was fantastic, and Face was fantastic in the movie as well. The movie did the original A-Team justice, while adding some charm to them and making it one hell of an entertaining movie. Lee Neeson did a fantastic job as the fearless leader of this unstoppable team, and Sharlot Copley provided the perfect character as Murdock and most if not all the laughs in the movie. The A-Team managed to bring in a lot of laughs, some great action, and plenty of nods to the original

Modern Predator – Recut...

I have always been a fan of the Predator franchise, the first two being the best of the franchise. This just set the standard, I remembered seeing in the late 80s in my aunt’s apartment in London, and I remember seeing it on Betamax back in the day. I’m still impressed when I watch it today, the most kick-ass team of the 80s put together to fight a formidable hunter. This is a recut of the of trailer for modern day viewing with music from the movie “Inception”, makes me want to watch it again. I just can’t wait for the new Predator movie, that is going to be some off the charts action and a real tribute to the Predator franchise unlike the last few movies.
