Cinema 1 – Dubai Mall...

This is the one new shop right next to Reel Cinemas in Dubai Mall. I love that they try to organize stores which have relation to each other. So walking by this place I saw they had all kinds of models, lots of Star Wars and a huge couple of statues which are for sale. There is a huge Hulk and Snake Eyes from G.I.Joe, Snake Eyes was cool but his sword should be longer. They had a lot of cool items for any movie fanatic to see and own, and I have some of the cool items they have and a few more they don’t have. If you like this sort of things its really worth checking out.

Back To the Future Renewed Trailer...

The Following HOMAGE has been approved for ALL SUPERFANS of one of the greatest motion pictures ever made.

I saw this Ad and I thought it was a very cool Ad only to realize that it isn’t an old Back To The Future AD, but still very cool. The cool DeLorean with all the buttons that made it look like it was state of the art at the time. Damn even Michael J Fox looks pretty good, I learned what a Flux Capacitor did when I was 5 years old when I didn’t know what the hell a Capacitor was. I still love this movie!

Review: The Other Guys...

NYPD Detectives Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) are the baddest and most beloved cops in New York City. They don’t get tattoos—other men get tattoos of them. Two desks over and one back, sit Detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg). You’ve seen them in the background of photos of Danson and Highsmith, out of focus and eyes closed. They’re not heroes—they’re “the Other Guys.”

This was one of movies that I didn’t expect to be this good, I usually watch all Will Ferrel movies but this is just over the top. Every trailer and all the features of this movie had Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Samuel L Jackson at the front and Mark Wahlberg & Will Ferrel in the background as the retards of the police force. I don’t want to spoil the movie for anyone but it takes a hell of turn. The funny part is Mark Wahlberg was insane and funnier then anyone in the movie, the combination of him with Will Ferrel was fantastic. The story is great and the combination of these two guys is just insane, the best comedy of the summer period.

Space Battleship Yamato...

I’m still waiting for this insane movie, its Star Trek/Star Wars on steriods. I remember watching the anime a long time back, but the movie looks even more amazing then the anime was. Now its even tempting me to get a model version of the Space Battleship Yamato which is about 56 cm in length, pretty big to sit on the mantle.

To Watch List...

GHTTG

Getting to the weekend I always try to watch a few movies and right now the below is my short list. I have a lot to catch up and some that I saw at the movie theaters. Hopefully we will get to watch at least two movies, Get Him To The Greek is at the top of my list with Splice for some good Sci-Fi.

List:

  • Get Him To The Greek
  • Splice
  • Jonah Hex
  • Robin Hood
Skyline – Trailer...

Synopsis
In the sci-fi thriller Skyline, strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

At war with Aliens in the middle of Los Angeles and every major city, how much better can this be. I know I will be watching this on November 12th as soon as its out.

Review: Machette...

It’s one of those movies that are just over the top, and Machette is this unstopable man fighting for justice and basically killing the big bad guys and anyone who stands in his way. This movie surprisingly has a lot of big stars in its line up and they just fit in, and at some points its just so over the top that you can’t stop laughing. I honestly loved the action, its presented perfectly as a gritty rough movie, an amazing piece of work from Robert Rodriguez.

The list of people in this movie is just ridiculous, its probably the first time I have seen Steven Segal in a normal movie. Then there are Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba who are trying to fight the bad guys and get involved with Machette, who seems to have a way with all the ladies period. Cheech Marin as the ass kicking padre who is incidentally the brother of Machette and helps him out in a pinch. Don Johnson and Robert De Niro as the crazy Texans. All out insanity breaks out and you just love every moment, and then there is Lindsay Lohan which I try to forget! A must see movie!

Silhouette Typography Posters...

One way to remember movie quotes with these posters, the combo of typography with iconic pop culture references from Jerod Gibson really puts the movie together for you. I’m a fan of pop art and I enjoy these cool movie posters, and it can be applied to laptops, iPhones, and clothing. My favorite ones being The Hang Over & Star Wars.

Review: The Expendables...

An all-star cast of action-movie icons headline Sylvester Stallone’s explosive action thriller about a group of hard-nosed mercenaries who are double-crossed during a treacherous mission. Approached by the shadowy Church to overthrow tyrannical South American dictator General Gaza (David Zayas) and restore order to the troubled island country of Vilena, stoic soldier of fortune Barney Ross (Stallone) rounds up an unstoppable team that includes former SAS soldier and blade specialist Lee Christmas (Jason Statham); martial arts expert Yin (Jet Li); trigger-happy Hale Caesar (Terry Crews); cerebral demolitions expert Toll Road (Randy Couture); and haunted sniper Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), a combat veteran who never misses his mark.

Now this was a rag tag bunch of guys blowing up cars, buildings, and pretty much everything else. I haven’t seen a movie such as this in a long time, not much of a script except for some very fun characters with a lot of fighting and shooting. I was excited to see The Expendables and it didn’t disapoint, its not going to win an Oscar but you will enjoy what Stallone and his crew have to offer, a great enjoyable movie. I am a really big fan of the action genre and this has all of the best stars wrapped up into one package. It’s every action junkies dream.
