Up Coming Movie Trailers...

ROBOCOP – The reboot is looking AMAZING, I have been a huge fan of Robocop watching it countless times when I was kid, he was the ultimate supercop. Now this reboot is coming and this trailer looks good, Alex Murphy is back as Robocop, and I’m liking the people in this movie and the twist on the story. The best thing is they didn’t change the OCP logo, got to love when they honor elements from the original 1987 movie.

I’ FRANKENSTEIN – From the creators of Underworld and the main character played by Eric Eckhart, I know I’m going to enjoy this movie and the trailer looks pretty damn good. Been a while since we have seen a good fantasy like this, I enjoyed the Underworld movies but the later ones were ridiculous, and I did love Van Helsing, this one looks to be better then them.

JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT – A reboot to the Tom Clancy character Jack Ryan, third time’s the charm played by Chris Pine, and this character was previously played by Alec Baldwin & Harrison Ford. Lets see how this plays out but I’m liking the espionage story, looks complex with lots of action, just what I like.

MACHETTE KILLS – Come on, this movie needs no introduction, if you loved the first one you will love this one. You can not mess with perfection

Review: Elysium...

Elysium2

Set in the year 2154, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.

Elysium1

I honestly didn’t know what to expect in the movie, except that it is a dramatic science fiction movie starring Matt Damon. I liked the trailer so I jumped right in, this is about Earth going to crap and the elite moving to an earth station orbiting around earth in the perfect world. The robots in this movie were cool and realistic, and people were going to extremes to get to Elysium. The surprise for me wasn’t just the story, it was the other star of this movie who played the bad guy perfectly, Sharlto Copley (From District 9). He made the movie insane and thrilling, above and beyond what I was initially expecting and that made it that much better.

Review: Riddick...

Riddick1

Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick’s past.

Riddick2

Going back to the original Riddick, this is similar to the first movie Pitch Black. It’s Riddick versus the monsters and only with his skills are they able to survive, and no mercenary group or two can even think to take him on. I enjoyed the way it played out and as usual Vin Diesel is a bad ass in this movie. If you loved Pitch Black you will love this movie.

Jobs...

Jobs1

The story of Steve Jobs’ ascension from college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century.

Jobs2

You could tell these guys wanted this movie, they wanted to make it, Steve Jobs is just that much of a legend that people wanted to get his story across, especially Ashton Kutcher. The similarity between him and Steve Jobs is uncanny, its honestly frightening how similar he looked. But even with all the things they tried to get right as Steve Jobs grew from being in College and rejoining Apple at the later stage the story felt like it was missing. For most people they would enjoy the movie, but a lot of us are very familiar with history of Apple for the past 10 years and reading a few books after his passing brought more of his story to light. This movie didn’t do him justice as Steve Jobs more of the story or a different part of it could have been told to bring it across better.

Review: R.I.P.D...

RIPD1

A recently slain cop joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him.

RIPD2

I was looking forward to this movie, sort of Ryan Reynold’s Men in Black Movie, with him being Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones is played by Jeff Bridges. I love Science Fiction movies, but this Supernatural movie just didn’t play out the right way, it annoyed me and honestly disappointed me. Here I was thinking this was going to be a hell of a movie but at the end it fell short of my expectations. Even with Kevin Bacon playing the bad guy, it just didn’t add up in the right way, the characters felt fake and the special effects were crap.

Review: The Great Gatsby...

TGG1

A Midwestern war veteran finds himself drawn to the past and lifestyle of his millionaire neighbor.

THE GREAT GATSBY

I lean more to action or science fiction movies, but there are movies at times which surpass your expectations and The Great Gatsby was one of them. I didn’t have a chance to see it in the theaters, and it is a long movie so you have to make time for it. It was worth the wait, a very uniquely done movie, and I was impressed and the sound track is mesmerizing. I really don’t like Tobey Maguire & Leonardo DiCaprio as actors since they annoy me, and Tobey is an asshole but this movie is so good that I could tolerate watching them. Make time for this movie, its worth it.

Batman & Superman – Ben Aflec...

Batman&Superman

Batman under Christoper Nolan & Christian Bale became an epic story of Batman, the true Dark Knight. It reached beyond the comic fans and across the globe, there is no one that didn’t love Batman over the past 8 years. Zach Snyder’s Superman was also a deep Superman movie, and I really like how he was portrayed in it by Henry Cavill. So the up coming mash up of Batman & Superman was extremely exciting news, and I was hoping Christian Bale would reprise his role as Batman, as I can’t picture anyone else doing it.

Now the shocking news that Ben Afleck is going to be the next Batman is nothing short of revolting, I got a gag reflex when I heard it, on the verge of throwing up from my disgust of him. He is an actor of his own right but NOT a superhero, doesn’t anyone remember Daredevil? I love comic movies and this I tried to love but to no avail, I was just utterly disappointed by it. I just really hope most of us comic fans are proved wrong and Ben Afleck does right by The Dark Knight.

Movies From The Weekend...

TheHeat

The weekend filled with hit movies, so many great movies for the weekend and at the top of the list to watch was The Great Gatsby. I have seen Iron Man 3 and I do want to see it again, and then there is The Heat is a comedy I want to see. Man Of Tai Chi is an interesting Martial Arts movie starring Keanu Reeves, this I am really looking forward to watching during the right time.

  • Iron Man 3
  • The Heat
  • Pain & Gain
  • The Great Gatsby
  • Epic

AMP – SciFi Short...

10 years after leaving a war his father started, Quinn and Amp live in the slums selling illegal custom-tech just to afford the batteries that keep Amp alive. When an old childhood friend tracks him down, Quinn is confronted with the dilemma of choosing to remain idle in a city run by the corrupt Coreley Corporation or finally finish the war he never wanted to be a part of.

I love short movies like these with Robots involved, and this one looks very cool, even better then what I was expecting, its over the top and I love it! Loved the character of the Robot and the special effects and impressive for a short.

Review: Star Trek Into Darkness...

STID1

After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

STID2

The first Star Trek movie from JJ Abrams was Epic, it just revitalized the whole franchise, and I was really looking forward to the release of this movie. I didn’t have a chance to see it right away but I heard a few mixed reviews that surprised me. After watching the movie I knew it was one hell of story, about Captain Kirk, about Spock and what they go through the Federation, something totally different. And Khan is the same Khan that was from the original movie, it was a well thought out storyline with some very crazy battle scenes. The story was well thought out and deep, and I like what they did with Khan and very well played. I don’t want to ruin the story but if you are a Trekkie or a fan of Scifi then you have to see this movie.
