Review: Green Lantern Emerald Knights...

As the home planet of the Green Lantern Corps faces a battle with an ancient enemy, Hal Jordan prepares new recruit Arisia for the coming conflict by relating stories of the first Green Lantern and several of Hal’s comrades.

I still get chills when I hear the Green Lantern oath, there is something about that just prepares you for battle.

“In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil’s might, Beware my power… Green Lantern’s light!“

This animated movie came out in the summer and I for one love all of them, and this is a little different then the usual Green Lantern story. You get introduced to Hal Jordan as a familiar character but not a story about him, its more about the Core and the Green Lanterns. What was entertaining is that you get introduced to a few different characters in the Green Lantern Core and see how it developed, and the story develops around their current threat that faces the Green Lanterns. The animation is simple reminds me of the animated show the Justice League and it isn’t as good as Green Lantern First Flight but still very fun to watch. Made me put my Green Lantern ring on and see if it works, doesn’t hurt to try.

Predator Berserker Mask...

I have probably seen Predator and Predator 2 a combined amount of 100 times over the past two decades. There is something very cool knowing that there could be an alien culture that is based on a warrior culture and I love their weapons and when they go to battle. Recently I had a chance to get myself the new Predator Berserker Mask from AlterEgoComics and after a month of figuring out where to place it, I mounted it right above my door so I can see it when I’m sitting at my desk.

The quality of the mask is amazing, it really looks like the real mask from the movie, and for those who don’t remember the Berserker is the big Predator is Predators, the one that pretty much rips people apart. There are other Predator Masks out at this time and I’m contemplating getting another one but not sure if I should get the Falconer, Tracker, or Stalker, all of them look intimidating. The coolest part is when the lights are off in the room and the red LEDs are on, looks like its really aiming for something. Now I want to watch all the Predator movies again, and AVP doesn’t count even though it was a cool concept to begin with but the execution of the AVP movies is a disaster.

Contraband – Trailer...

Mark Wahlberg stars as a security guard with financial troubles who considers returning to his smuggling ways when someone offers a lucrative opportunity in Baltasar Kormákur’s Contraband.

I’m a huge fan of Mark Walhberg, he always makes these action movies with the craziest plots and story lines, now this movie I am really looking forward to watching.

Review: Attack The Block...

From the producers of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Attack the Block follows a gang of tough inner-city kids who try to defend their turf against an invasion of savage alien creatures, turning a South London apartment complex into an extraterrestrial warzone.

Inner City vs. Outer Space. The simple idea of a bunch of delinquents in London stumble onto a bunch of aliens and end up fighting them in their part of the ghetto. Nick Frost plays a small role as weed dealer to the people on this block but it centers around a group of kids who end up fighting these monsters on their block and they have no clue what they are, they just look like a bunch of alien gorillas. I have been waiting to watch this movie for a while now, and it didn’t disappoint, Its a fun action movie with the slight twist British comedy. If you are into British movies, and anything from Simon Pegg or Nick Frost then you have to watch this movie.

Mission Impossible – Ghost Protoco...

The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this.

I can’t wait to see this movie!

Nike Air Mag...

I am one of those people who loves Back to the Future, I would love to get my hands on the DeLorean and keep it as a show piece if I had the money and time to put one together. I previously talked about the shoes that they released last year with the Special Edition Blu Ray but these shoes are the ones Marty McFly wore and were self tying. only 1500 of these will be made with all of the proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. People are going insane for these shoes and if you thought women were too vain about their shoes, you need to meet British rap act Tinie Tempah. In a bid to get his hands on the first pair of Nike’s limited edition, McFly-inspired Air Mag sneakers on eBay, TMZ reports that he had to fork out a whopping $37,500! The cheapest shoes start at $2000 and go all the way up to $10000 depending on your size, I would love to have these shoes, I would honestly put them on display and NEVER wear them.

Review: Captain America – The Firs...

After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America’s ideals.

After so many Marvel movies they saved the best for last, Captain America did not disappoint, action packed true Marvel Movie. Chris Evans played the part of Steve Rogers perfectly, I loved how they made him look weak it really made people think twice about him, and I really loved the feel of the movie in the 40s and a little creative freedom always helps. There were a few cut scenes while watching it in Kuwait but still it was worth watching and I did enjoy even with the migraine that I got from watching in 3D, seriously I would have been happier watching it in 2D. Huge Weaving was the perfect Red Skull, he portrays the bad guy so well and I have always been a fan especially since Mr. Smith (The Matrix). Fantastic mix of characters and actors, there was never a boring moment, and an amazing story, and the best part is the movie gives you small bits to make you think of how they relate to the other movies, loved the last part of the movie too.

The larger then life stories of our time are all owned by someone, turns out they are owned by a few big companies. This is a very nicely done chart that shows which company is a subsidiary of another and what story line they own, Time Warner and Walt Disney Corporation seem to have a vast wealth of movie rights to these stories.
