There is a motorcycle meet at TriStar motorcycle in the city at 8:45pm tonight. And there is going to be ride to somebody’s house or something for an invitation. Im going and I hope whoever wants to go can go. At least take a look at motorcycles. I bet there will be a number of BMW motorcycles and a lot of Ducatis! Look for me if your going to be there. Im going to take my camera and take a lot of pictures. TriStar Motorcycles is opposite Khaleejeya complex (Qnet) you cant miss it, it will be coming up on your left if you come down fahaheel expressway. My first meet since I never had a chance to go before!
I love modifying whatever I have. Be it bikes, cars, computers, and anything that can be modified! Even lego! I changed the look of my bike to have have the more aggressive look with the carbon fiber and matt black pieces. And Im think about getting an exhaust system to give it the grumbling sound that Robo deserves!
While I was surfing around I stumbled upon AC Shnitzers modifications and exhaust system. They completely change the bike from what it look like. This bike looks like the Decepticon version of my Robo! This bike looks dangerously appealing with the bright colors and all the modifications! But coming from AC I could imagine the cost being about the same as the cost of the bike! It still looks very appealing in my opinion in a different kind of way! They did a good job spicing it up.
I dub thee “Nightrate” , that sounds like a good Decepticon name!

It is a piece of art if I have ever seen one. I love motorcycles, but this one made me drool on my keyboard.
This is the Ducati Desmosedici RR to be sold starting July of 2007. But orders for this bike start from June 2nd of 2006, and priority going to owners of the 999R! I think Ducatis are amazing pieces of Art! You can ride it on the track, or you can just sit there and admire it! A real piece of art and technology!
Ducati built this one differently this time. I think they built a no holds barred motorcycle with every idea they had. The main difference I saw was that its not a V-Twin Engine like the rest of their motorycles. They went with a new V-4 Engine design but still utilizing all their knowledge from their V-Twin engines. There is only going to be 400 of these motorcycles made so good luck trying to get one.

Thursday
On thursday morning the weather was so nice, and I left work early! I knew I had to get out! The weather was too nice to stay inside! And for once it wasnt scorching hot or sand storms like the past couple of days! For once it was slightly cool! 29.5C! So I finished up work, got the cost estimations done, check on the equipment.. I knew I could sneak out and hopefully nobody would call me!! Home free! TIME TO RIDE! hehehe
I got home got my phone, wallet, mp3 player, and went to the basement to gear up! I was so pumped up because I havent had a chance like this to ride for a while! And because it was the first weekend to have decent weather it seemed like half the streets were empty! Thank god! I can enjoy myself!
I went to the gas station and here is me in my gear! So those who see can find me! The indian guys were cool enough to take two pics of me on the bike! And I gave him a tip! 1.200KD for gas.. tip 0.500 KD .. pictures priceless! hehehe
They guy has skillz taken pics! hehe!
Gear: Arai Edwards helmet, Dainese Jacket, Alpine star gloves, jeans with Dainese shorts underneath, and Reebok sneakers! hehe
There is a lot more to read, and a lot pictures! And special prize at the bottom! hehe
I dont think a lot of people havent heard of him on this side of the world. He is an unknown character who seems like a nut case on a motorcycle, but he has amazing skills as a motorcycle rider. He flips the bike back and forth. He rides a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K5, which is one of the nimblest motorcycles out at this point in time, and also one of the fastest.
From what I know he rides around in Europe doing crazy stunts, high speed drives, and police chases. The Laws in some of the countries are that he has to be speeding to be caught. So if the police see him parked at a Deli after a failed police chase from the day before they cant arrest him. And its so funny seeing him get away from the police all the time.
He wears a matte black helmet, and a full black suit. And the Suzuki is all matte black. It has an amazing finish! Here are some of his videos:
Video1 – Ghost Rider Flying down the highways and basically causing havoc: Google Video (5min6sec)
Video 2 – Ghost Rider on the Nurburgring, an amazing track in German: Google Video (10min 29sec)
Video 3 – Ghost Rider Taunting the Law, in sweden they have to have volvos for police cars! lol: Google Video (3min 22sec)
So I came back after work and decided to wash my bike and clean it up a bit! I went for a little joy ride before going to work and it got a little dusty! lol! So Im pretty happy the way it is.. and I just parked in the sun for about 10 mins and its dry. So Im posting some before and after pictures! And if you continue at the bottom there are some more pics. I ordered these parts from Wunderlich in Germany. They are quality Carbon Fiber products and they are solid. They look very nice, and feel nice. They arent like cheap carbon fiber and I think it looks good on the bike! The funny part is I was ordering from a Germen catalogue so I had a possibility of ordering the wrong part! And I only ordered one wrong part! lol! Thank you TriStar Service Department for the clean install! Here are the pics!
The reason I name my bike Robo is because if RoboCop would ever ride a bike it would be this bike!! Sometimes when Im looking at it I think Robo is going to talk to me, and transform into human form! Just like a Transformer!

I just picked up my bike from TriStar motorcycle in Shuweikh. When I got there it was still dirty, but they washed it while I paid for the installation of the parts I got! It looks so nice with all the new parts I got for my bike! Im going to call my bike Robo from now on! I will explain why I call him Robo at later point! When I got back on Robo it felt like I got back a member of my family! There is a deep connection between a Bike and his Rider! You and the Bike are one! Well enough riding psychology! lol
They litterally washed the bike in fifteen minutes with a high pressure washer and then they dried it with a air dry pump. It was cool! Robo looked brand spanking new. The hard part is riding in the heat in the middle of the freaking afternoon! Number one thing I learned from my first (and hopefully last) accident on a motorcycle is always to wear gear! So I had a textile Dainese Jacket, Arai Helmet, and Alpine Gloves on. I also wear jeans whenever I ride. But I knew it was going to get hot so my goal was to keep moving, as long as I could get a breeze then I would be ok. They dried the bike to the best of their abilites so I got on the bike and switched my mp3 player on. And off I went!
For the first little while of riding it was ok! The heat didnt get to me yet, and my helmet was cool since I had it in an airconditioned room! A little water was dripping on me from the parts that werent reachable.. but I saw the water dry withing seconds! God Damn its hot! I kept thinking better get home quick! I was on the 3rd ring road trying to get to Malik Fahad to start heading home, but I hit some traffic on the 3rd ring road and when I had to come to a complete stop for more then 30seconds I started to feel the heat! I tried slowly weaving through traffic going no faster the 5 kph! It was almost physically impossible! But I slowly made it through and I was cruising down the highway and so many kids would keep saying HHIIIIII!!! Thats why I love kids! They are so much fun! I kept waving to any kid that was waving or looking at me with interest! They suddenly become a huge amount energy and stick their faces to the windows! Which I find to be the funniest part! But I made it home and I will be posting pictures later on of the bike with the new carbon fiber pieces! But damn it was hot! 37.5C!
After a hectic week a visit to the shalaih was exactly what I needed! I had a bright idea to take my bike with me so I can enjoy it there too! So I towed my bike with my landcruiser! I love my landcruiser! Its like my own little tank! When I was towing the bike I know that I cant pass 100Km/h, and I felt like I was driving slower then the water tanks! Everyone was passing me, but I didnt care. I just made a new music cd which was extremely enjoyable, and so I didnt care. I had lots of time to make there for dinner! I left on thursday around 4pm and reached AlZoor around 5:10pm.
I havent been to the shalaih for a couple of months and seemed like the guys have redone a lot of the place. And I have a room with my cousin to redo which a pretty cool project. Its a nice thing the guys are doing. Its a friend’s shalaih, but the guys have been going for years, I used to go a lot before college. And now im going to start going again. And its nice to sleep on a bed now! hehehehe.. not on the floor like back in the day! hahahaha!
The water was really nice, it was hot outside and the water was cool. And we were eating like pigs! I came to the realization that I need to cut back on food! Im going to start hitting the gym like a I did before my travels! hehe! My swim shorts didnt fit me like they used, but I still jumped in the water! And damn it felt goooood!
And while we were visiting Khairan’s Marina I was taking pics of some boats and these maintenence guys working on the boats. Everyone is having their boats prepared for these coming hot days!
I never thought that I would be jumping in the water in April! I forgot how hot Kuwait gets! lol! But it was a nice relaxing weekend!
So I went riding again on Friday morning after finishing a few things!
It was extremely enjoyable, the roads were mostly empty. Only a few cars at the time so I was able to navigate around them easily. Started it off at the gas station filling up the tank. These bikes require 98 octane to operate, and if you put lower ocatne fuel the bike’s throttle feels very jumpy or choppy as if something is wrong with the engine. Just so everyone gets an idea why they specify high octane fuel.
So I took the sixth ring road all the way down to bide3/salwa, and i basically followed that all the way to Abraj al Kuwait. A few times the road was empty I would try a few different things with the bike, like seeing how it handles specific corners. And how it handles in traffic. I really think this is the perfect bike for these roads, and people’s driving skills. Randomly on the road there would be pot holes, dirt, and other types of debris.
The Road:
One thing when riding always ride relaxed. Be confident, and ride smoothly so you can react to unexpected situations. And in Kuwait assume the worst of people’s driving skills. Another point to riding, and those who ride probably have heard this again and again, keep your head up when your turning. Look where you want to go, if you keep your eye on a tree, sign, or car your probably going to head for it. So look ahead of it to try and plan ahead.
What you have to keep in mind is to always ride carefully on unfamiliar streets. You might have driven a lot on some of these srteets before but being on a bike you notice all the little problems become bigger problems. For little while I was thinking “I dont remember this pot hole being there, and why the hell is the road so bumpy”. Familiar streets become unfamiliar really quickly! But at least I am discovering all these little things during the morning when the streets are mostly empty.
Bike:
Riding this bike is the same as courting a women. She looks good on the outside, but you have to get to know her to get things right. And yes I refer to a motorcycle as a girl! Because if you treat her nice she will treat you even better! Well thats my attitude! Now going back to the riding! This is a BMW K1200R, which is a different bike then what I have been used to riding. People who ride this bike either love it or feel like it isnt for them. I enjoy the bike and its growing on me everytime I ride it.
So after riding for a bit, and getting comfortable with the bike to a certain degree I wanted to try a few things. I have never had a bike which has ABS or electronic adjusted suspension before. Both are options on this bike and you can get the bike without them. The road was empty and it was a straight line to the red light, so I decided to try the brakes out. And I gave it a good squeeze. It felt like it took a good bite so I started to squeeze harder, and then it was really holding but when it slipped a little the abs kicked in and it was the weirdest feeling! But the bike came to a stop. I just have to get used to it! Most bikes dip forward when you give the break a good squeeze, but this bike has a different type of forks because this bike doesnt dip forward!
The People:
Since it was morning and early afternoon riding there wasnt a lot of people on the road. A couple of guys driving, a few girls, and a few families out and about. So overall it was nice to get out in the morning. And I saw quite a few bikes riding in the morning. You notice the people who want to enjoy the ride go out during the morning. The majority of the motorcycles are Harley’s and Japanese bikes. Mostly Harley’s since they have good service a lot of people buy their bikes from them. So most of the people during the morning were nice, and werent being jerks. But the Late Afternoon riding is another story! To be continued…
So I wanted to do something different this weekend. Didnt feel like traveling, didnt feel like going to the shalaihaat, and i wanted to avoid traffic and crowds! So I just really limited my options at that point! I wanted to relax and weather was soooo damn good! But my answer came a couple of days before the weekend! My bike finally arrived. It was supposed to arrive end of december but there were delays from this and that, and then customs took their time. But I got the bike at last (even though it was a month and a half late!). I’ve been riding for a few years and i love it! But I learned to ride in California, so its a biiittt different here! hehehe..
It was friday morning the weather was perfect, it was 16 C outside. I put my gear on. (I always wear gear). Helmet, Gloves, Jacket, and Bike boots. I wear jeans which do the job! So I have sufficient protection to go on this little adventure of mine. I also have my cell phone in my pocket, and my wallet. I also have a nice selection of music in my iRiver mp3 player. And yes i can ride and listen to music at the same time! Its the same concept as driving and listening to music, but you have to make sure your senses are set to high! Gotta keep my eye out for women driving SUVs and people oblivious to other people on the road (especially bikes)! hehehehe
And for those of you wondering at this point, yes I have a motorcycle license!! I went through the hoops to get the license, but thats another experience to write about at a different time! So I started off riding in Shuwiekh al-Sena3eyah, and I took the first ring road to the second ring road until the gulf street, then i went left to souq sharq.. but I kept going past it til the end, and thats where I took some photos!
And then I went back down the gulf road going back in the other direction! Did I mention friday morning there was little to no cars on the road, which made the ride fantastic and extremely enjoyable!! Didnt have to worry about bad drivers! I just had to worry about this bike’s manners! hehehe So at this point in time im riding for about 30 mins going between 80 to 100 kph.. taking it easy and enjoying the breeze. Then I stopped at the scientific center and took some more photos! Lots of kids playing around with their families on these four wheel bikes! It was cool! I had to be nice and drive slow since I wanted to park on the side walk! hehehe.. at first some parents were giving me dirty looks, but the kids liked the bike so they loosened up a bit, and were being nice! hehehe
From there I went to get a haircut, and a cold bottle of water! And so I went and got a shave and cut! I like it simple and easy to maintain! lol From there I went to Marina Mall for quick Frapachino before going back to park my bike next to allllll the other Harleys! They always travel in groups!! I think thats the best idea, and the safest to travel in groups! Because people are more aware of groups! But I dont have group, and im still gonna ride!!! hehehe.. anywayz got my frapachino and went back to my bike.. cooled off a bit, then I went back home around 2pm.. had lunch and felt good! Cuz I still had a lot left to the day!
Hey if anyone sees me on the road! Wave.. say heellloooo! :D
