These days its getting a bit warmer but still there is a lot of riding left, I’m trying to get in as much as I can at this point. This past weekend we rode about 350 Km around town, from Bida’a to Doha to Subhan and back to Bida’a for something to drink. It was an intense ride since we wanted to ride as much as possible during that amazingly cool morning, and the dust lifted from the night before.

This time around we were a bit more organized with the riding since we had plan, and a few different routes which made things interesting. The 1st ring road has turned into one amazing corner, at least the new part is, its the perfect curve, I hope they don’t install a camera there any time soon. Recently I have modified both the Diavel and 1098 so that my license plate is somewhat hidden.

After a nice long ride we had a nice cool drink, we thirsty as hell and I didn’t let anyone stop for a drink the whole day since I wanted to enjoy the ride as much as we could. There are a few surprises in the pictures below since we had a lovely machine join us in the previous ride I had to put the pictures up.

I tend to take my helmet a lot of different places and especially when traveling to and from the track, one thing people seem to forget or don’t know is that once your helmet takes a fall off a table or a bad bump its useless because the structure has been damage, even if its a light bump. This was probably one of the longer rides we have had in a while and the weather was just perfect, a lot of riders came out and this was probably the largest group of riders we have had together in a while, with an interesting mix of riders and machines.

We were out riding from 7 am and didn’t stop until 3:30 pm all over Kuwait in different routes, its been a while since I had to fill up twice in one ride but it was fun and we did have our shenanigans on our little adventure.

I honestly can’t get enough of the Diavel, it is such a fun machine to ride and amazing around the corners. No Sport Cruiser can compare to it, its on par with most sport bikes and you just can’t wipe that grin off your face when you are pushing it as much as you can. These days its getting a bit warm so I’m trying to ride as much as I can before the hot season comes in, sometimes I wish I could take my Diavel with me on the plane to Europe and ride around for a while from town to town.

A Sandstorm came in just as the weekend was about to start, and I was hoping it would clear up just before Friday morning. I woke up around 5:45 AM to see that it was still hanging in the air, I was hoping it would clear up and by 7 AM it cleared up a bit and I headed out. We were just a few riders heading out and the roads were empty, as if we have been invaded by Zombies, nobody was out on the street, it seems the dust kept people in.

We were 3 vetren riders and one new guy to join the group so we were a bit slow in the beginning but we started pushing on the corners, but we tried to take it easy because of the dust, we didn’t want to slip while riding but still we were enjoying ourselves and the empty roads. I just detailed my bike the other day so all this dust was driving me nuts, but it wasn’t going to stop me riding.

Its videos like these that make me want to ride my bike like Batman, it doesn’t help that the bike they chose is the BMW S1000RR which is one of the most powerful if not the most powerful machine out there, and the way the story is playing out it gives that rider a feel as if he is a super hero. All the footage was done with the new Nikon D800 which will be retailing for $3000. Canon snagged the DSLR/Video market with both the Canon 5D Mark II & the 7D, so lets see how well the Nikon D800 will measure up.

Drifting in a car takes a lot of skill, drifting in a motorcycle is something else and this guy has complete control over his machine and smoothly gliding it around corners and balancing it on all different angles. Jorian Ponomareff is one hell of a rider and I wish had 10% of the skill he has with these machines, there is another video below showing his skill as a rider and capabilities, watching these videos gives me chills. Curious to try but not dumb enough to risk it, I know my limits.

I have always been a user of Arai and a fan of Shoei, usually people start off with one or the other in the motorcycle world. In my case I started off with Arai since 2001 and never looked back. Over the years I understood what companies did and at the top Shoei is one of the best with Arai. With that I picked up a Shoei a few months ago and got this Qwest Blood Flow, the Qwest is the sport touring line, not the super sport line but I loved the design and couldn’t resist the helmet. I love that its fully Matte Black and Matt Red, and it luckily matches the color of my Diavel.

This is one of the things that I really get annoyed with. On Friday and Saturday mornings from 6 am onwards there is almost no one on the road, and the roads belong to the bikers. Over the past three weeks there have police check points just after going under the round about on the Visa Round About heading towards Bede’a on 5th. It is a speed trap since everyone is used to traveling 120 on 5th Ring Road, but just before going the underpass it changes from 120 kph to 80 so if you are going 130 kph then you are doing 50 kph over the speed limit and they fine you, take your license and registration. Some cars also get towed depending on how fast they were going, and they were even stopping bikers. Most of the time police leave bikers alone but at this check point they pull people over and either tow them or hold them for a few hours.

I would honestly think that they would have much better things to do instead of hassling people that early in the morning and it police check point starts around 6 or 7 am, ends around 10 or 11 am on both Friday and Saturday.

Stunting takes a certain level of skill and on a motorcycle you have to be very skilled, and that rider is Rok Bagoros. Such control of the machine is amazing and also the build of this KTM Duke 125 does help to perform these stunts, very cool.
