Modernist Mutants and Minimalist Marvels! Thats the perfect title for this comic art concept, which Rogan Josh call his retro comic poster art. There is a lot of Comic and Video Game influenced art these days because of the success of the movies and amazing story lines but Josh’s art stands out from a lot of the ones I have scene. He has stripped down all the layers down to the minimum, the core of each of these characters and I love it.
Storm, Thor, and Captain America being my favorite pieces from his collection, I just hope that he keeps making more unique ones. Some of them are easily recognizeable and some are only familiar to comic aficionados but still very good. You can check out the larger gallery over at ModHero as well as the GeekTyrant link below.

I’m loving all these new Iron Man models that are being released, I know that all these companies are capitalizing on the Iron Man 2 hype but whats great is that they are really making highquality models. Hot Toys just keeps making it better and better, these toys are extremely detailed and articulate, its insanely cool. I can’t stop wanting more and more of these new toys, you can never have enough toys and these are just amazing. They went for a movie acurate model and came up with this highly detailed Iron Man 2 suit.

Batman still represents one of the coolest and toughest comic book characters out of all the comic book heroes. In the Superman vs. Batman debate I still think that its brain over brawn so Batman will outsmart Superman. Now for the Bat Pod from the Dark Knight its the coolest machine that I have seen, I wasn’t expecting something like that to come out of the monstrous Batmobile and how it came out as well. I think they need to utilize this machine a little more then they did in the next movie. This is a solid brass sculpture from The Nobel Collection with Batman riding the Bat Pod, its really amazingly detailed and I really like the look of it.
Since reading Iron Man back as a kid I always considered War Machine to be the bad-ass version of Iron Man, “Shoot First, Ask Questions Later” type of guy who would use that ridiculously powerful suit. Now Hot Toys has went ahead with a Iron Man 2 movie detailed model based on War Machine and Don Cheadle, it has all the weapons and arc reactor that lights up. I think this is an amazingly detailed model that shows all the features of War Machine, but I’m not a big fan of the moving types of toys, I prefer the stationary kind for display purposes, but nonetheless this is one cool model. It supposed to be released towards the of Q2 2010 or beginning of Q3 but no pricing announced yet.

At 9 inches tall this is a very cool Iron Man 2 bust from Hot Toys. They have released other models such a full figure Iron Man 2 and War Machine but I prefer the ones from Kotobukiya Iron Man 2 but this bust is really cool. Especially since Hot Toys are known for their attention to detail, the Arc Reactor and eyes are light up. A perfect bust to sit on a desk looking as a good as this Iron Man model.

I have always been a fan of Batman, especially from the comics, but with Christian Bale they took it from another level. I don’t know how many times I have seen Batman Begins or Dark Knight, but what I do know is that I can still watch them again and again. They really brought across the tough and dark side of Batman who goes through his on trial to become the hero he must be.
Coming across the Batarang at The Nobel Collection store was a surprise, I pass by this store a couple of weeks ago so seeing it right there in front of me was a surprise. I didn’t even think twice, I grabbed it to see what it was made out of, then I opened the case and it seemed to be the genuine piece. After looking it and admiring I had to have it, I placed on a shelf next to my DVDs and Blu Rays but I really have to find the right spot for it.
There have been a few interesting custom Lego models over the past couple of months, and some of these are amazing. These models are made by a 15 year old named Sven Junga, and he has spent months making all these amazing models. For Sci-Fi fans some of these models will seem familiar, he built the city of Stargate Atlantis as well as the Battleship Deadalus from the same show. Then there is the HAVw A6 Juggernaut from Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. It takes a lot of talent and patience to put together models such as these, its seriously amazing what some of these guys do.

300 is one of those movies that will leave a mark on any man’s life, its become a right of passage for many men. Ever time I see this movie I’m still in awe of King Leonidas, he feared very little, faced his enemies when they were only 300 against hundreds of thousands. So when I saw this statue of the helmet of 300 and shield as the base I had to have it.
I picked it from a store called The Nobel Collection in Dubai Mall, their prices are reasonable as this is around 72 KD, for a full bronze helmet, shield and sword of 300. In my case I’m missing the sword since I was so happy I got it I took it in with me as a carry on and so security took the little sword, I wasn’t thinking straight at the time. So they took the 12 cm Bronze sword and left everything else, they were rather reasonable and decent at security but I still have this amazing helmet and the quality of it is fantastic, solid bronze piece.
I have was gifted the original Kotobukiya Iron Man Statue last year, and its probably one of my favorite models that I currently own. I honestly look at that Iron Man consistently, wondering what it would take to make a machine such as this, and it looks so realistic and such a fantastic model.
Now they have come up with the new design of the new Iron Man, and it looks good, they look fantastic together. Now the movie comes out in May of 2010 and this model from Kotobukiya comes out in September of 2010. You can see the developments in the suit, now to see what this equates to as weaponery and suit strength in the movie. I hope that Kotobukiya comes out with a War Machine model that can go with these beautiful models as well.

Every once in a while a new model comes out which grabs my attention, this time around its the battleship from Macross. Macross Quarter is die-cast model from Japan which has both ship and robot form. A battle ship that is meant to house hundreds of thousands of people as well as weapons and spaceship, as can be seen one arm looks like an aircraft carrier and the other has more canons on it turning into a super canon.
The quality build of this model is very high and currenlty available through Japan. I’m trying to get my hands on one because its very rare ot get a model of this quality every day. Its selling for around $170 which isn’t too bad for an anime model.
