This item is to be recognized only by those who are very familiar with the Transformers movie, this is the All Spark Cube that Megatron tried killing Sam Witwicky to get. Glyphs etched into metal and weathered to give the authentic look, just like in the Transformers movie. The 1:3 scale, 2.75 in (7cm) squared replica All Spark Cube is made of die-cast metal, the weight of it makes it feel very real. It sits on my desk witha miniature stand to display the cube and it really does look extraterrestrial.
Recently at a hobby store in the UK I saw some extremely high quality cars models in a unique store in Soho. What shocked me was the size and the detail of these beautiful machines, some of them are about 40 cm long and some are about 70 cm long. But it seems they are as expensive as a small car, the models ranging from 1000 to 3000 KD which is insane but that what you have to pay for fine craftsmanship.

I can never really get enough of Star Wars and everyone always thinks of the Stormtroopers as nothing interesting but these shots tell a bit of funny story. This project from Stefan was to take daily shots of Stormtroopers TK455 and TK479 for one year, starting April 3rd 2009 and ending April 4th 2010. A lot of them are very creative photos and amazing shots, the titles on some of them are hilarious, and I just posted a few of my favorite pictures in this post.

I try and stop by Forbidden Planet any time I’m in London, I think it is on the must visit lists of all geeks. They have every Model, Statue, and Comic that you have in mind. This was just before the Harry Potter movie premiere so everyone was pretty Potter crazy. I was checking out lots of models they have, and so many that I would want to buy. At this point I have a lot of models and movie memorabilia stored up that I shouldn’t buy anything but I bought just one Green Lantern Model which looked really cool. They have a huge Star Wars section, I just couldn’t help staring at the selection they had, I do want a Millennium Falcon but I wouldn’t have any place to put it since its really huge.
They lean more towards Movies, Games, TV, and Comic items then they do anime items as I think the store wouldn’t be big enough. They have a very big first floor showroom and a huge basement filled with every kind of comic you can imagine, they have a very nice transformers section that I spent a good amount of time reading down there. If you like these types of items then its really worth a visit.
I don’t think there is any man that can get enough of Legos, I for one can not get enough of it. Everytime I visit London I make it a point to visit Hamleys when I’m there and this time around I visited a few times and I resisted the urge to buy anything while I was there, but only the last time I went I bought a motorcycle technic model. I really wish they made slightly more complex technic models because there is a huge following for Lego but their current offering is very fun and enticing. I keep looking at and wanting to rip the box open and start putting things together, there is a major sense of accomplishment once you have completed the model, I would like to display mine.
I took my little cousin to shop for some toys and he is little man after my own heart, he asked me where the Lego section was and I took him downstairs and it is one very large section. I felt like Santa that day since it was cold and I was carrying a very big bag, I kept encouraging him to get whatever he wants, and he ended up getting 3 Big Ones (2 of them Technic) and 3 very small ones. There was a lot for him to choose from but he said he likes to take his time building them, and he likes finishing them all in the same day if he can. The funny part is when we were checking out they thought I was his father, and the boxes piled up to be higher then him and I was very satisfied seeing the memories of Lego grow up in such a young man. I still the think the best toys are Lego.
Who remembers the Cobra Commander from 80s, now that guy used to annoy me as a kid. I loved when the Joe’s kicked his butt, one thing for sure is that he was the perfect evil leader, diabolical but always screwing up. Now SideShow Collectibles have come up with the perfect model of Cobra Commander, and I have to say it looks pretty real, even better the cartoons used to be, I have a memory of them but when I see the cartoons they were much worse then what I remember.

Whenever I get a package its like a surprise, I have an idea whats in the box but not always sure. Especially lately since I preorder a few items and this time around I have gotten some fun items. I have at last found the Transformers All Spark Cube, full metal engraving of the one from the movie, from the first transformers movie, it will prominently be sitting on my desk. The other two are books I have been looking forward to, one is the book from Simon Peg, pretty much anything from Simon Peg is worth watching or reading, he is a comic genius and I love all his movies so I have been waiting for this book. Then there is The Stig, or Ben Collins as we have come to find out, after all this time at last we know who the Stig is. There has been controversy surround this book because BBC didn’t want it released, and I don’t think he is The Stig anymore but it is still worth reading what a man who has been driving the most insane machines in the world at insane speeds and how it feels.
Any time I pass by any toy store I sort of wander in and take a look around. I always look for the lego section to see what they might have, and there a few times when I’m tempted to pick up one of those more complex models. What amazes me are those people who can create amazing models from their head, I for one can’t build these amazing machines, toys, and models without an instruction booklet, I tried and failed miserably. Some of these creations takes over a thousand pieces and months to put together, and they final model looks easy when you see the picture but you must perfect the skill of building with very little to go on. Check out the link below on Blastr to see more insane creations.

Side Show have done it, they have built an amazing looking model of Optimus Prime. I love the high quality models that come from Side Show. Only 100 of these will be made and at $1200 it sells for a hefty price. Not everyone would want something like this but for the collector they would want this. They haven’t released any details about the size of it but it does look like a high quality product out of Side Show.
I do enjoy these high quality time-lapse videos, makes this huge 18 meter Gundam look real. It really has become Japanese heritage with the stature of these robots that they keep building. One day I hope to see it up close and personal instead of just online.
