Well the situation turned out to be a little worse then I expected. The infection reached pretty far and I have been taking strong dosages of the antibiotics, under Doc’s supervision of course, and the infection has gone back to the main area but damn this thing is persistent.

Now its the turn of the dentist to take a suction hose to my jaw and take it all out. What drove me nuts was the air pressure on the plane on the ride back, even when taking the pain killers it helps but only for so long. I have to say this pain killer is strong but it also causes nausea. Now that I have been on a 5 day course of antibiotics I do hope they can do something about it right away, and I don’t care what they have to do but I want to clean out the problem.

The original problem was due to a botched up route canal that was done in Kuwait years ago and this is the result of out it.

To be exact, that picture shows EXACTLY how I looked when I woke up in the morning. I was worse off then when I went to sleep at night, I couldn’t swallow and it hurt like hell. My left side was all puffed up and my neck muscle was killing me so that wasn’t helping. I called the doc around 10 am and was going to pass by around 12pm, and he remembered when I showed him the lump the first time. This time it was huge lump and my neck was killing me, it was hard to get up because it took a lot of energy to move my big head, you never realize how heavy your head is until this happens. At this point in time I can’t swallow anything, it practically hurts to move, and the towel I had wrapped around my neck was pretty damp from my sweat. At least I don’t have a fever anymore and I was happy when he came along. 

He prescribed the following:  

• Augmentin (Antibiotics)
• Prednisolone (Anti-inflamation)
• Di-Antalvic (Pain Killer)

 

So we have pretty much been back and worth between the docs and the hotel. The weather is relatively nice, but somehow I managed to three things all at one time. I have a problem, I tend not to go to docs or dentists, until its too late. I have had a root canal problem from ages ago, I had four done in Kuwait and all four were screwed up, in the states I managed to fix three but I ignored the fourth one because it required a lot of work. As of two days ago my gland got inflamed because of that root canal problem so it looks like somebody punched me “lightly” under my chin, I got a neck sprain on the left side, the same side. Its painful as hell, I put some deep heat, and I can’t do anything about the infalmation, and I don’t want to see a doc in this hospital. And they took my temp for I go to sleep, I was shivering a bit but not from the cold and turn out my temp is a 38.8, told them I will take two tylenol, some deep heat and sleep it off. Its my neck that hurts like hell and I feel like a robot that can’t move  around correctly since my joints are all stiff, I keep thinking “Domo Arigato Mr Robato!!!”. Hoping it will get better after I got a good nights sleep. 

Its one of those annoying things that creep up on you. I was fine a few days ago and I felt a slight itch in my throat, really didn’t think much about it. After one night’s sleep I woke up the next morning feeling that my throat was a clogged pipe, took effort to cough it out. Thats when you go for the strepsils, and I kept eating those like candy it did help for a bit but not as much as I’d liked. It has gotten worse over the past 48 hours but drinking warm drinks like herbal tea really does help calm it down and as long as I don’t talk too much I’m fine, but it doesn’t look like its going away any time soon. Its from the humidity from the past couple of days and going in out of air conditioned areas which probably caused this, I’m just crossing my fingers that it will go away.

This is what happens when your friend is a surgeon and you end up with a fake boob in your hands. This is probably one of the funniest things I have yet to see, and we were shocked how much this C-Cup costs. It seems over the past few years breast implants have been the new thing for women in Kuwait, and this one boob costs 3000 KD because it is top of the line.

It has some cell memory type gel which makes it special, and then there is the material. It is very interesting to hear all the details from the perspective of the doctor, and how different surgeons place this implant differently and how to get a better job. I’m still laughing about this boob, and it does feel soft but still very fake.

A friend of ours is a surgeon in one of the public hospitals. We all work in different fields, but he has the most insane and entertaining stories. I have to say that I have huge respect for doctors, but not all of them are good. He is one of the good ones, but does deal with a lot of nut cases. I will be posting some of his less graphic stories, some of them are just very shocking. We were talking about the trend of plastic surgery these days, and it seems a lot of women are willing to go under the knife. Then were talking about plastic surgery and this is how the conversation went:

Me: “So how are plastic surgeons in Kuwait?”

Doc S: “There are some really good ones, but in specific places”

Me: “So what can you do as a surgeon usually?”

Doc S: “I will turn you into a SPARTAN!”

The Guys: “Where do we sign up??!?! hahahaha”

I have had knee problems for a long time now from a major injury I had when I was kid. It is on and off, and there are a few things I can’t do and kneeboarding is one of them. When I woke up the day before I had a few meetings and things to do so I jumped right out of bed. The moment I stood up I felt a click at the front of my right knee, and I knew something was wrong. Within a few seconds I felt shooting pain through my right knee.

I’m a stubborn person thinking that it would go away throughout the day if I don’t do anything drastic. It just went and came throughout the day, if I was moving I didn’t feel too much, but if I stood still then I would feel the shooting pain. Even when I’m driving I felt pain in my right knee, it doesn’t matter if I was putting pressure on the brakes or gas, the pain just came and went. I’m trying to figure out what exactly is wrong but nothing seems to come to mind, even when I’m laying down I tend to feel a throbbing pain that comes and goes. I just hope it goes away by the time I wake up, I don’t feel like wearing the knee brace that I have thrown in my closest.

 

This is vitamin/health boost or whatever they call it, it is an amazing product. I honestly tried it a couple of times over the past year and a half, it does exactly what it says it will do. Whenever a lot of people get sick at work or at home I take one tablet at the beginning of the day and one at the end of the night, sometimes one mid-day if I’m feeling a little sick.

I tend to be stubborn and not go to the doctor until I am incapacitated, but with Airborne it helps your system so you don’t catch the cold or flu from somebody close by. I felt my nose get a bit stuffy last night, and when I woke up early morning to go riding I felt that I might be catching a cold so I took one before riding, and another one after riding. I hope that it kicks in and I don’t catch a cold and get back to normal. If you haven’t tried its worth trying, especially when everyone at home or at work catchs the cold.

I got an email from a friend telling me about one of our friends who is currently in the I.C.U in San Francisco General Hospital. A friend mine moved to San Francisco for a job, and he is enjoying his stay in the city and most of the guys live down south about 30 to 40 miles away.

He was walking on the street and he was jumped by a few people, and they took his money and phone. He was beaten very badly by them that he was taken to the emergency room for surgery since he had internal bleeding in his head. He is currently in a severe but stable situation.

I can’t believe this has happened to our friend, his uncle is with him and a lot of the guys want to visit him but they don’t want to go at a bad time. Its frustrating that nothing can be done right now, but I do hope that he recovers completely from this.

This has been my luck when I go to Egypt, I knew that at some point that I might get food poisoning but I was hoping to avoid it. I don’t think there is a possibility of going to Egypt without getting food poisoning.

Our flight was Friday afternoon from Alexandria so we had to leave around 7:30 am from Cairo to take a minibus to Alexandria, it was a funny road trip and we were going to enjoy ourselves. For the few nights I was there I only ate out twice and I ate with a lot of friends, and at very good places. It was a three hour drive to the Alexandria Airport, we had to take Emirates Airline from there since every flight from Cairo was booked.

Towards the end of the bus trip I was feeling a bit queazy, I wasn’t sure what was wrong, I thought it was just a case of heartburn. When we were about to get on the plane I had a 7-up but it didn’t help. It was a 3.5 hour flight, and a little bit into the plane I felt things get worse and then I knew something was very wrong. When they served lunch I took one bite from the food and then went to the bathroom and vomited quite a bit. I felt better but really out of it, I went straight back to my seat and fell asleep, I didn’t want to eat a bite.

As soon as I got to the hotel in Dubai I asked for a doctor who prescribed to me three medications:

• Bascopan (Pain)
• Imodium (Clearing Poison)
• Primperan (Naseau)

Drinking water felt a little bad even afer a few hours so I wanted to get a bite to eat. Later in the evening I had a little bit to eat, and I threw up again but at that time I think I cleared up everything in my stomach. After that I passed out until the morning, and I felt a lot better in the morning, now I just have to take it easy.
