Now that they have all launched Blackberry its interesting to compare all the services. I will be doing that at a later point but Viva packages seems interesting, they went for the idea of more expensive packages, but they are quite interesting.
One other note you can switch between these plans at any point in time without any contractual problems, if you traveling you can take BB 44 and if you are just in Kuwait you can switch it back to BB 25.
I have to say that they give you a better bang for your buck for the packages, unlike Zain. I think Zain might lose a few customers if they don’t offer more value. I for one only use my BB for data and connectivity usages, not really calling people from this phone so switching to Viva does seem very appealing. The idea of having unlimited data is unprecedented for international use and never has been offered before, and that looks very appealing.

Wataniya Telecom has pulled the same move as Commercial Bank of Kuwait, Fire everyone and rehire, just to lower the costs. So the breakdown of the situation is simple.
They are giving presentations about the changes and open discusssions, for a little while. And a Wataniya Telecom employee has only 4-5 hours to decide if they will sign the new contract with the new terms, or else they will be terminated, fired, out of job, on the street.
They have lowered the basic salaries of a majority of the employees, but compensated for it in large allowances. Now they have changed the working days to 5 days instead of 6 days which is good, vacation days have improved. Bonuses are calculated at a lower rate because its based on the basic salary which has been lowered, but health insurance has been improved towards people with families and three days for compationate leave. They even added one week for weddings not included with your vacation, both male and female.
Overall its an interesting combination but they are putting their employees
Update: They only have two hours to sign or they are terminated
At last they have come to launch the Blackberry Service, as of today Wataniya has launched the new Blackberry Service with the pricing plan below. Looks like their tis going to be competition for the Blackberry Subscribers, and our brethren in the Wataniya camp can at last communicate with us through BBM. Now I wonder how many people will be switching over to the BB service who already have Wataniya.
It seems you can easily switch between the plans, you don’t have to stick to one or the other.
Pricing Plan:
I get pretty hungry through out the day, I keep thinking about when the next meal is going to be. Got me thinking, Falafel and Company opens up today and I remember they had amazing shawarma, I might pick up some on the way home later at night from the family engagement. Now I’m just crossing my fingers and hoping that the Seef Strip won’t be packed and there will be some parking, because I want to get down and check out their menu to know what I’m ordering.
Klue offers you a chance to find out. Heart-stopping, mind-blowing, adrenalin-pumping fun and an experience you are not soon to forget. We send you on a custom-made adventure around Kuwait made especially for you and your friends.
A game across Kuwait, I remember doing something similar like this a while back and now this has come together. It looks like something interesting and different to do with a group of friends, I hope their games are indoors for the next couple of months. I was the driver of the last group so I pretty much broke every driving rule to make sure I won.

I got these pictures by email and I was impressed by this very nicely designed shalaih. It looks more like a resort then a shalaih, it is modern and I think they did an amazing job with the landscape design, very simple and making it clean and beautiful. The overall lighting scheme of the places is very nice, especially the pool at night. It seems to have three living rooms, I’m not sure why but it doesn’t look like they took pictures of the whole place. Even the Z4 in those pictures looks really nice with that lighting.
I decided only a couple of weeks back that I wanted to vote, that I’m really tired of all this crap going on. Our country is on hold and everybody else is moving forward. A lot of our friends are depressed about Kuwait and you feel like their isn’t much you can do about it. I did something simple I just saw who were the candidates that fit my criteria, got their mobiles through friends and called them up. Some were good over the phone, and I asked when I could meet them at their election locations and I met with them for a about 20 minutes deciding who to vote for. It was a simple process of asking questions, seeing their nature, their replies, and asking about their past actions.
Going to the voting poll somewhat early in the morning was very important and I’m happy that I went and voted. I hope that this really works out and the next set of MPs really do something to jump start the country. We are tired of things going into a slow process which results with nothing happening, just the whole in country in a complete standstill.
I went in, they check your citizenship to make sure you are going in to vote. I walked in and tried searching for my letter. They have voting rooms by letter and I couldn’t find where exactly I was supposed to go, asked a few people but they weren’t sure where the letter M is located. I asked a bearded gentlemen and he told me the way to go and ask for me to vote for some Dr Something, who is probably of the religious right. Checked my name and the ID number (Raqam al Qaid), and waited in line to vote, the line was moving at a decent pace. After about 20 minutes I went into to vote and saw that the room had 7 people, and 5 of them were supposed to be people who recorded all the details on paper to compare later for fraud or mistakes. I made my four choices, folded up the piece of paper and placed it in the box. I felt good about the vote and I’m hoping for the right people to get a parliamentary seat, I have hope but I’m dreading the bad people who are bound to win.
This bike belongs to avid biker Scott, living in Kuwait in the Mangaf Area. I have gone riding with him a couple of times over the past couple of years, great rider and appreciates his machine. This is a very special machine since this color scheme was made in very limited quantities. Scott’s bike was been stolen this morning from his residence in Mangaf. It is a blue and white 2003 BMW R1100S licence plate number 2403.
If found please call Scott at 97220184 or the Police.

Just recently going to the movies I remembered how bad the popcorn and nachos tasted at the KNCC. The popcorn was dry and really lacked flavor, and the Nachos were slightly stale. Even though they didn’t look that good I wanted them for the movie. I understand that KNCC wants to make as much money as possible from the film viewers, but still providing such bad quality food is very sad. I don’t know why they don’t produce sweet popcorn which is easily available from any company in the UK. They can get better recipes to make popcorn, how they can screw up popcorn so bad bewilders me. Honestly the popcorn that you make in your microwave tastes better then the one KNCC has, I just hope that at some point in time they hope to improve the food and selection, outsourcing would be better for them but knowing how closed minded they are I doubt they would even consider it citing quality control as an issue.
Now for the seats, for the Star Trek premiere we chose the seats marked in red. I just choose the ones to the center and there were 11 of us, and I didn’t really care for people coming to the cinema its a first come first serve basis. When you go to the booking page, they tell you your seats are final and can’t be changed at this point. When we got to the theaters I went to print out the tickets and saw they shifted us one seat over to the stairs so there would be two seats empty to our right. I was so pissed I wanted to punch the screen, I printed the tickets and went to the customer relations guy and asked him about this. He said that IT keeps an eye on all bookings and if there are dead spots they move people over to make empty seats, but if I bought the tickets myself at the window they couldn’t have done anything about it. It really pissed me off, not about the seats but saying that all seat choices are final yet they tampered with it. I really wanted to make a fuss but I was too happy to see the movie, next time I will reach through the monitor and strangle the IT guy.
