Looking at different uTorrent Applications I have switched to Rutorrent & Deluge for the server I’m running my torrents from. Running a Seedbox is simple and fast without putting any effort on your home connection. You just push it to the Seedbox then download it from your ftp connection to your Seedbox. So I need a more stable software that can handle 10 to 200 GB files for all the different torrent files I download and at this point these two seem to be pretty good.

• Deluge – Simple and solid, very stable, but missing a few
• Transmission – Didn’t try it yet
• Rutorrent – Like it very much and very flexible and stable

Now this is something I want to do, Devinsupertramp does it again with a very ridiculous stunt that I want to try. As usual his videos are fun and smooth, and very worth watching. Need to find giant towers to tie bungee cords to.

There are a lot of bloggers still out there, and I think at this stage most everyone is using WordPress with one host or another. Over the years I have always been recommending the use of Dreamhost since their service is above and beyond better then any I have used.

Now they have come up with Dreampress, its the perfect WordPress package, hosting and wordpress with support features. Like in my case I have issues with my Database so when people comment it always hangs, it needs to be cleaned up and optimized, I don’t know what the hell to do with it to fix it, professional support for WordPress is hard to come by and I have tried most of these online websites and almost all of them have failed to get back to me.

Now I’m hoping Dreamhost can shift my website from the Virtual Private Server (VPS) to the Dreampress services. First thing I’m going to ask them is solve my DB issue and update my themes. Thats one of the reasons why I haven’t changed my theme in so long, the damn thing got really slow and heavy, so it needs to be overhauled. After the back end clean up then the facelift will come at a later stage, crossing my fingers for Dreampress but check it out at the link below.

Now this is an Epic Halo Fight, any Halo fan will love this. Devin Super Tramp giving his touches to the gaming world, its Red vs. Blue vs. Green in this case and these guys in the suits look very realistic. Halo 4 – Forward Unto Dawn was a hell of a movie and made Master Chief look like the Hero that he is, but it was no way enough as movie, we need more and this firefight by DevinSuperTramp should be the beginning.

Anything new in social media catches on like wildfire in Kuwait, and I do like that Kuwait is always ahead of the curve when it comes to social media. Since April of last year Instagram has gained huge traction in Kuwait, unlike any other country in the Middle East. It’s a different creature from the people who are used to using Twitter, Facebook, or Blogs, Kuwait moves from one thing to the next. First it was Blogs, then Facebook, then Twitter and now Instagram.

People love sharing pictures, and that has become normal, you get a glimpse into other people’s lives. But unlike most countries people are taking advantage of it on a commercial level, so many people using it for their stores and items, it’s honestly genius, the fastest way to get people to see their products. And a lot of companies advertise with Instagramers with a ridiculous amount of followers.

For one picture the price ranges from 150 KWD to 450 KWD on Instagram depending on who you advertise with and in reality its just as expensive as newspaper ad but you get to more people and faster, and some companies see the benefit of this.

Now the crazy part is how easily you can buy followers & likes on instagram. So many companies are doing that to inflate their numbers its ridiculous. Some people have a strategy to gain followers and it works for them but I for one don’t believe in buying followers, you get people based on your interactions and photos, but going for numbers is a never the best strategy. One day I woke up and looked at Instagram and it gave me a weird number, I assumed it was acting up, but I was half asleep and the number was real. I jumped from 2000 followers to 7000+ followers, I thought what the hell could have happened, I checked and saw some of my pictures had over 800 likes which has never happened.

I checked the followers some seemed normal with their own pictures but then more and more turned out to be bots. I don’t know how the hell the could have happened, after calling a few friends I found out who did it and was playing a practical joke on me and he enjoyed it. I spent over 4 hours and barely removed 300 followers, its a crazy process to go through. He bought the 5000 follower package from Promote and it only took a few minutes for it to happen. You can do it to anyone with an open account, and thats what he did to me and it drove me nuts trying to remove followers.

IGExcorcist is a website that helps remove bots from your accounts. It checks certain criteria and helps your account unfollow these people, but it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to remove each person. Once you activate IGExcorcist it doesn’t stop except after all the criteria is met, and in my case it took over 6 days to get rid of the bot followers, I was thankful that was done and this program was out there, I might have spent a month trying to unfollow all those bots.

Another crazy video from Devin Supertramp, he started off with just videos with friends and making them more alive and more fun, and now taking adventure to another level. This video is about the crazy sport of longboarding, and they are insane people with amazing balancing skills, taking these boards up to ridiculous speeds and faster then some cars, these men are braver then me, and they make it look so easy.

I love short movies like these with Robots involved, and this one looks very cool, even better then what I was expecting, its over the top and I love it! Loved the character of the Robot and the special effects and impressive for a short.

There has been a package for GCC Data Roaming since the beginning of the year by Zain. Sometimes it works with the carrier and sometimes it doesn’t, but I would say that it works 70% of the time which is pretty good. 150MB for 7 KD across the GCC which I thought was perfect, honestly you don’t use too much and it doesn’t cost as much as a car if you use too much data, I remember some bills going over a 1000 KWD because of mistakes with billing which are insane. So these packages for data roaming are reasonable if you didn’t purchase a local land line.

To my surprise when I went to London they also had a 7KD package but it was for 100 MB on Vodafone, honestly that wasn’t too bad. I was pleasantly surprised about it. I switched on my data roaming and within minutes it was working on Vodafone’s network in London, truth be told Vodafone’s network isn’t too great but no one really is in London. But it was just enough data to get WhatsApp working as well as a few emails through as needed, it does the job and I’m happy they are making these deals with other telecom companies, at least now Zain is taking advantage of their size and influence and working out deals with other telecom companies to benefit the customer. I’m not sure if that package works for all of Europe or not, but those people traveling during Eid will know when they get there.

I got my hands on the Fasttelco Aloo service a few weeks back now and its turned out to be much better then expected. The Aloo service is an ISDN service based in Kuwait from Fasttelco, you can have a local land line number attached as SIP line to any SIP capable App like Media 5, Bria, or Zoiper. The local lines start with 2220XXXX, these are the regular lines. It works great across 4G & 3G while driving, didn’t disconnect at all.

You get different different choices of lines:

• Normal Line 70 KWD
• Silver Line 120 KWD
• Gold Line 200 KWD
• Platinum Line 500 KWD
• Diamond Line 1000 KWD
• Royal Line 5000 KWD

This is a one time payment for those lines above, then its 60 KWD a year for the service. The yearly service rate is a reasonable rate compared to what you can do with the line. I purchased a Gold Line for a number that is easy to dial and remember. I plugged the line directly into the Android internet calling, it would ask if the call is through the internet or through the phone line, when I choose internet it uses my FT Aloo line which works perfectly. We tried it on two phones but only one could be used.

The best use of this phone is when you travel, it doesn’t matter what line you have on your phone as long as you have data. So when I’m abroad I can divert my Kuwaiti line to the FT Aloo line and it will ring where ever I am as long as I have data in the country that I am in. One point though, even if it doesn’t connect the line will still ring and miss you service from Zain won’t show the line that called you because it was diverted. Still the ability to use this line abroad is fantastic and well worth it.

At this point I think I see about 80% of people carrying two phones at one point or another. I have been carrying two phones for a few years now, and every time I look at Dual Sim phones they are usually very crappy phones or not available. Recently I have been looking around and the only viable dual sim phones are the three above with the Desire 600 being the weakest one. The HTC One Dual sim is an impressive Dual sim since its the same as the normal one but with two Micro Sims, and they are all Micro Sims. Then there is the Samsung Galaxy Mega i9150 which its impressive specifications and one very large phone, almost 6 inches, bigger then the usual phone. Two phone are top tier phones while the Desire 600 is a mid level phone, its very hard to find high spec dual sim phones, but these two are very viable but the only problem is that the HTC One Dual is only available in China, the Desire 600 was available in the UK but can’t find it anymore and the Samsung Galaxy Mega is only available in India. One other note about Dual Sim phones is that they only come in 3G, there haven’t been any chip boards developed with dual 4G in mind, it might be another year before that happens but still out of the bunch these are the only ones. Searching through ebay and amazon you get to find out every once in a while but you won’t find a good dual sim easily.
