Decahedron Fire Pit...

FP1

I love to BBQ but this is one of the oddest BBQs I have seen, or fire pit in this case. It is an amazingly constructed fire pit, an art piece really for the right place. I wouldn’t want to touch the metal while that pit is going, but the grill looks interesting, not fully optimized for grilling. It would be a bit tricky to cook on that, but it does look very cool.

MotoArt Jumbo Jet Table...

JumboJetTable1

Bring the iconic Boeing 747 into your conference room with MotoArt’s newest piece made from a General Electric engine nacelle. At 12’ wide this high-mirror polished table seats up to 12, and includes a set of 6 pop-up connection ports. The custom fabricated engine stator is set off with internal LED lighting in a color or your choice, and topped with a B-52 engine spinner.

JumboJetTable2

This is probably the coolest conference table from MotoArt that I have ever seen, made from a Boeing 747 Engine. They make amazing pieces of furniture from old plane parts, but this is one of the best I have seen them make. The process they go through is exhausting to get the perfect piece, and thats one of the reasons why it is so expensive. I have yet to walk into an office with MotoArt furniture, it would take a very rich company to buy that sort of furniture. Still I really love this meeting table.

Price: $35’000 – $45’000

Ubiquitous – The Most Masculine Of...

Ubiquitous1

I always like seeing these crazy offices and its usually the tech companies that have them, but this time it comes from Ubiquitous, a communication company, I think marketing and branding. They have made the most masculine office I have ever seen, it looks like an old gentlemen’s club where people should be smoking cigars and drinking whiskey, not people working on computers. It’s rare to see an office using black walls and dark wood, but this place got it right, I wouldn’t mind working in an office like that.

Typographical Chess Set...

TypographicChess1

Literal is what this guy had in mind when he was making these chess pieces and they do look very cool, these 3D-printed chess pieces use the full name of each piece as an integral part of their design. You always see these interesting chess sets, and I always think its cool just to have one, I know how to play but I have zero strategy when it comes to winning, and this chess set would look cool on any table.

Amazing Television Floor Plans...

TheBigBangTheoryLivingRoom

We watch and love so many of these shows, and we all get familiar with the apartments and houses that they live, we have been watching them for years and still we think they are real when watching them, as if we know every part of their homes. In this case Lizarralde has really taken the time to put together all these designs on paper, to show some of these apartments that we have known for so long, in my case the favorite two are The Big Bang Theory and Friends, those are two apartments that I think I know every part of, check out all the plans below. I don’t know why but just seeing these apartment layouts brings back memories and playbacks of all the episodes that I saw.

Flow Wall System...

Two things I love the most about homes, its Garages & Organization, I love seen a clean well designed garage, it tells me the owner of garages is a lover of machines. Whenever I would see celebrity homes on MTV Cribs I just wanted to see their Cinema Room & Garage. Something has to be said for a well design garage with all the tricks to make it that much cooler. With this system everything just looks so well organized and designed, I would not want it any other way with it. Also I think we can all agree that Bruce Wayne has the coolest garage period.

FLOW WALL® System is a modular wall storage and organization for home and workspace. Get your stuff off the floor and onto the wall: neat, organized, and easy to find when you need it. Create personalized storage space anywhere and get your life in order. Simply combine FLOW WALL® Panels and Storage Accessories for a customized storage solution.

The best part about it is that it is relatively well priced for the products, for about 500 KWD you can get a great set of cabinets and well area organized in the garage. I have seen storage items for garages in Kuwait and they do get a bit expensive. But with this it works nicely, I wish this was available in Kuwait, and if I was building a tool area I would get this storage solution for it, it would make the garage look that much cooler.

MR. ED Book-End...

Looking at his extensive library one day, Roderick Vos realized that a scattering of small lights would showcase the books and aid readers. So he designed Mr. Ed, a light bulb held in place by two vertical, book-like shapes. At home on a bookshelf or on a bedside table, Mr. Ed has enough brute strength to act as a bookend. Although Mr. Ed can use any 40-watt bulb, Vos prefers an incandescent bulb for its warm glow. In fact, Vos named Mr. Ed after the inventor of the incandescent, Thomas Alva Edison. Mr. Ed is made of cast aluminum and available in black.

I’m always on the look out for interesting book ends since I try to fit books in all the different areas I have, and when I saw these I loved them. Its rare that you find good functional bookends and in this case the lighting is exactly whats needed between books. The only issue I have is that I don’t have any plugs close or around the current shelving I have, I can use them in a few different places but the best way is to design these into the shelving space you have in mind so the outlets are there and designed in a way that the wiring is hidden. The link below is for the European specs so it would work with us.

MotoClassified2...

If you love hardware and furniture then this is the perfect accessories and furniture for the male domain. I’m assuming that only some females would like it, and very few would allow it into their homes. Classified Moto Furniture lets you subtly show your love of motorcycling with a selection of stylish lamps, lighting fixtures, and tables that are built from salvaged/recycled parts taken from Japanese motorcycles from the ’70s and ’80s. Their prices range from $200 to $1500 which isn’t too bad, they are a bunch of creative guys who do love what they are doing. This makes me want to park one of my motorcycles in the living room just to look at it, again not my choice.

Pretty Little Things @ Dar Al Sadu...

Usually I don’t have time to go to events like these, always something that comes up but this time around I had the free time and decided to go, I went a bit early but it was really worth it. Last time Pretty Little Things was held in a house in one of the residential locations, this time around it was done in Dar Al Sadu just opposite Al Seef Palace. I haven’t been to Dar Al Sadu for a long time and I have to say that I was impressed how well done the place was, I’m going to visit it again at a later time but for now I was checking out some of the stalls and displays on these very talented people.

There was a charity event for the of the Orphans in Kuwait which I think was a fantastic idea, it is being run by Mabarat Khair Al Kuwait. The Orphans are currently in a housing area which is desperate need of reconstruction and refurbishment. They have taken it upon themselves to get this done through the support of this charity. There are about 17 buildings for these Orphans, they are more like prisons in the dilapidated state then they are homes for Children. and the renovation of each building costs around 30’000 KWD so through the help of this charity you can help. You can pick a room to install new tiles, or a new water system, or several areas. They are basically completely overhauling the place and then I think there would be another round to help with the essentials of the homes, and I was really surprised to hear how bad it was, I’m honestly curious to visit them and see if a person can enter them. I honestly always wondered how well Orphans in Kuwait fare and how many are there, and I was very happy to hear that Mabarat Khair Al Kuwait was doing something to help them. And with the help of Pretty Little Things they can help get them there.

Now for the stores that were there it was a mix of several types of stores from different nations other then Kuwait. These are some of the names that I passed by and my favorites are starred, keeping in mind that this is somewhat aimed towards women, more then men. I still liked the overall atmosphere and the people that I met, honestly it does make me proud to see people doing these things and I like the was Dar Al Sadu looked.

Stalls:

  • SO LULU – Lubna Al Nakib Jewelry
  • Lina Jewelry Design
  • Fyunka
  • Pieces By Farah – One Of My Favorites
  • The Yard – The Other Favorite
  • Camellia – Bukhour & Oud
  • Paper Design

Honestly there are somethings there that really impressed me, I do like seem cool designed furniture and thats the one that I liked the most. I think that I was probably one of the only men at that event, but luckily I went just at their opening. One of things that impressed me was the the CashToGo from Ahli Bank, so you could withdraw cash right there to pay for any items.
