I came back from work and I was hungry as hell, and I was happy to know this was on the menu. I dug right in and devoured what was in front of me, I really wanted something in my stomach since I felt really hungry. It tasted amazing, and the hashu was just right, the samboosak tasted good too. Nothing hits the spot like a good meal. I need to make a flickr album of all the food pictures that I have, some of them are good close ups.
I have been working, and finishing errands and task for the past two weeks so I haven’t had a chance to get a good meal for a while now. When I finished up my errands and got back from work I really wanted to sit down and eat before going to the GulfRun Event, I wanted food, energy, something.
I was happy it was Chicken Machboos since I haven’t had it in a while, and I was thinking about it as I was driving home and as soon I smelt it from at least one floor away I got hungrier and smiled. It hit the spot, and I wanted to nap but I had to go out then and there to make it to GulfRun Event, but at least I was on a full stomach.
I don’t know why but I got the sudden urge to have some Tang as soon as I got back from my long day. What I do is make a slush type Tang, so I add a little sugar and blend it with a ton of ice. Once it is done blending I stop it, then shake it, then blend again. I repeat this process at least four times because I get annoyed finds chunks of ice in the slushy drink. It really hits the spot, cold and just sweet and orangy enough.
I used to be a huge fan of the Ninos by the seaside during the early years but I felt that the quality of food has declined over the years so I stopped going about 5 years ago. I did remember that they had some really good veal and chicken with lemon sauce or mushroom cream sauce. It would really hit the spot before, so now when the new one opened I thought to check it out and I was hoping that the quality of food would be what it used to be or even better.
I have had lunch there twice now and both times the service was great, the food was very good and exactly what I was hoping for. They have a very large outdoor patio area which they will be opening soon, the seating is very nice and overall I really like the place. I’m looking forward to trying more dishes since everything I ate was tasty. I felt that it even tasted better then the old Ninos I remember and it was refreshing.

After a long night in Shuweikh I realized that I didn’t have anything to eat from the night before so I decided to have some Chinese food. It was exactly what I needed after a long night working on the car, by the time I got home I was starving and in need sustenance. When I saw the food I was smiling because I didn’t know where to start, I just knew that I wasn’t going to be hungry any more, some anime and I was happy just relaxing. I ate just enough so that I would be full and not stuffed, I wanted to watch some more anime but I was so tired that I really did need to go to sleep. Finished a few tasks which took about an hour before going to sleep so I felt good, and I fell asleep right away. A good meal does wonders!
I wanted a snack later on in the evening and so I decided to get some 31 Baskin Robins. When I asked for Orange Sherbert they said they don’t have any, so I thought they would refill it soon. It turns out that the branch which is closest to me no longer stocks one of my favorite flavors. Its an outrage and something must be done, so until I figure out what must be done I went with Chocolate Chip so that I could continue watching some of my shows. Its always the simple things that put a smile on your face, I had one after finishing up that little bucket.
This started off as a normal night during the week and email frenzy was going around in this group of messages. I was sitting in front of the PC so I was shooting short replys as well as whatever was on my mind, didn’t really matter what the subject matter was. I was just typing away, and I mentioned that I wanted a good shawarma place and I was too damn lazy to go anywhere far. Then 5 minutes later I got phone call from my friend asking if I wanted to go to this one place in Salwa, he knew how to get to it. I have been hearing about it for years but never finding the damn place since you have to take a lot of damn side streets in Salwa to find it.
I went downstairs waiting for him to pick me up to go to this rumor of place. He picked me up, and we were on our way and enjoying the nice cool night weather on the way there. As we got to the area we came to the conclusion that it wasn’t on the street that we thought it was, and I didn’t have a clue really. We kept circling around to the point I think people thought were stalking the neighborhood. It was a hilarious adventure of phone calls, and directions which didn’t get any results until one friend told us the street number which we found. And we drove straight down, and we found it! It felt like find the Holy Grail, we hit the jackpot and we were damn hungry! You could smell the kababs and chicken shawarma from the parking lot.
As soon as went down we kept the order simple.

We are two guys who were hungry so this was nothing for us! And I have to say the Chicken was ok, but the Kabab was fantastic and I will be repeating very soon. It was well worth the search and an enjoyable mini-adventure.
I had this sudden urge after a long day to have some ice cream. I’m not getting enough rest from all the things I’m having to do from work and after futoor. It has become a habit of mine these days to sleep after futoor because I just run completely out of energy after work and other tasks.
So I really wanted some ice cream, and I went to the co-op to check if Baskin Robins was open at around 10:40pm and to my luck they were open and I got my Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. I know I felt damn good after finishing that.
I got the sudden urge the other day to have some Hardeez and somebody recommended to me the Philly Cheese Steak, and so I took a chance got the sandwich and a hot dog for suhoor. I went myself to the drive through in Mishref, the place was packed full of kids which is a bit disappointing that families would let their young kids out unsupervised at 11:30pm.
I got my order in my car and went home to try the new sandwich, and I could smell the hot dog. As soon as I got to home, I went downstairs and started the anime. I opened the Philly Cheese Steak first and surprising it was a very good sandwich, much better then I expected and it tasted fresh. I was happy it tasted good and I enjoy my hot dog, its funny how sometimes you have these urges for certain things.
During Ramadan there are always dishes that come out that you aren’t used to seeing all the time. And I find it really hard not to eat anything when you have so much on the table in front of you. My weakness is when I see the meat and I want to take a large bite from a juicy piece around the bone. Now regulating the food and exercising is becoming a more difficult task then I expected. I will need to figure out a way not to eat too much at this point.
