Why Nokia!...

N73.gif

There a couple of manufacturers out there right now.

  • Nokia
  • Sony Ericsson
  • Motorola
  • Samsung
  • LG
  • Imate

The only two I even consider as viable phones for my choices is Sony Ericsson and Nokia, because I am not that fond of the OS which the others have developed. I have had a couple of Imates and they are only for business they are customizable friendly. Make themes and setting up profiles can be sometimes tedious on the windows mobile 5.0. I especially dont like the Motorola operating system, since it doesn’t even come close to the other manufacturers when it comes to simplicity of the software it isnt intuitive. So Nokia and Sony Ericsson seemed ot have done well with products that interact with clients easily and intuintivly.

My Nokia N73 has gotten very banged up over the last couple of months and I bought it in its first release when it came out and on Thursday I took it to my phone guy to get it upgraded and have the covers replaced completely and the center button added again. And so I transfered everything onto my Nokia E60 just using the builtin syncronization tool which makes that happen. After that i formated my cell phone before handing it over for the upgrade. Backing up cellphones between phones is what I love about the Nokias, I copied contacts, calender entries, text msgs, gallery, and a few other things from one phone to the other without any issues. I just hope the upgrade speeds up the phone and makes it like new again!

Buffalo USB Wifi Adaptor...

buffalohighpower.jpg

This is one of the coolest pieces of hardware that I have seen in a while! It increases your laptop signal by a huge amount! I have wanted something like this for a while, and it is relatively cheap going for $30.

It looks like its something that belongs to the military but I dont care it will do the job and probably make it easier to get signals from other access points which you usually can’t get. I know it will boost the signal but by how much I’m not sure, but its one formidable looking antenna. I hope they release it soon.

Review: Griffin iTrip for iPod...

Griffinitrip.jpg
Im not much for Apple products, but I have to admit that the iPod line is good and its successful for the amount of accessories it has. This is one of the essential accessories if you have an iPod. During my trip to the Desert we were 4 cars and sometimes we would share our music over the radio signal. And there were three iPods which kept getting shared between the vehicles. There were also three different transmitters so we had a good amount of time to test them thuroughly and the Griffin iTrip surpassed all of them.

Positives:

  • Very solid build
  • Holds the iPod in its case even in rough conditions
  • Very powerful signal, able to listen between 4 cars over a 40 meter range
  • Detachable and can be used with your home PC to transmit music over the radio
  • Works with the new and old generation iPod, and iPod nano
  • Very compact and easy to store
  • Flexible mounting

Negatives:

  • None

Price: $90

MoGo...

MoGo+Mouse.jpg

MoGo is one cool and interesting laptop mouse. I have seen some creative mouses before, but nothing as creative and useful as the ones available from MoGo. It can go into your Express Card or PC Card slot to store and recharge. It connects via bluetooth and you are good to go. The best part is that it is stored inside your laptop and its very thin. Its priced around $70 and its making a lot of noise at CES. I think I will pick one up and try it out, hopefully its as good as it looks.

Review: My Book Premium Edition...

wdfMyBook_Premium_1C.jpg

WDPEXHD.jpg

I have had this 500 GB external Hard Drive from Western Digital for over 3 months now and it is great. I have connected the firewire to my PC and it works great. Its very smooth and quiet! You have other External HDs which make noise but this one is very quiet for something of its size. And I really like its design and how you can just place it on your desk without even noticing it is there.

Positive:

  • Rugged design, very solid build
  • USB 2.0 and FireWire
  • Large amount of space
  • The software is on the hard drive which installs automatically
  • Runs quietly
  • There are two blue rings around the power button, the outside ring is for disk activity, the inside ring is for drive capacity so if it is half full, it will be half lit.
  • If you don’t access it for a while it goes to standby mode, which is good for sound and for the drive
  • It switches off when you switch off the PC
  • It is very easy to setup

Negatives:

  • Price

Price: $250

sony-bravia-kdl-70xbr3.jpg

Sony Bravia KDL-70XBR3 70-inch LCD HDTV

Sony has come up with their new 70 inch LCD with new technology! And they have gone full blown with this one! It seems to have all the specifications of a high quality screen with latest technology! I really think they made a good one with this one! The price is a bit over the top, but for it size the contrast ratio and frame rate are fantastic! I would like to see something playing on this screen.

  • 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 7000:1 dynamic contrast ratio
  • MotionFlow 120Hz fast-frame rate
  • Triluminos LED backlighting
  • World’s first LCD with x.v.Color

Price: $33’000

Skin It...

skinhw.jpg

This is a site which also provides skins for different pieces of hardware, and I really like that they have different skins for different pieces of hardware, not just the usual iPod and Macbook. And you can upload any picture you want on to your hardware which is pretty good, their pricin seems reasonable too.

BladeRunner 4...

bladerunner4.jpg

I honestly want to get my hands on this! I always wanted to fly a helicopter around inside the house or somewhere really close without the need of it being really expensive and complicated! This Bladerunner 4 seems to fit the bill! Maybe at some point I will try it!

Review: MDR-NC50...

MDRNC50.jpg

I have been using these noise canceling headphones for this trip and they have worked relatively well for thier price and quality. These headphones are type of headphones that you want on a plane to keep out all of the noises that might annoy you and you can then hear all that you are watching or listening to clearly.

Pros:

  • Comfortable Fit
  • Very quiet white noise
  • Good Sound quality (My B&O Earphones are better)
  • Has a Monitor button which allows all noise from the outside in which makes it easier then taking off your headphones, pretty good feature.
  • One AAA Battery so no outside power source needed
  • Audio cable is detachable from the headphones which is great, makes it easier to put away without jumbling the cables.
  • Price, relative to other Noise Canceling headphones this does a really good job for a very reasonable price compared to the Bose Headphones and other headphones.
  • Lond battery life.

Cons:

  • Low volume compared to other headphones, I thought it would be louder from the look of it but it wasn’t Im assuming it was to accomadate the noise canceling.
  • Its not compact enought to make it easy to travel with, its a bit bulky.

Overall I think you get a lot for what your paying for with these headphones. For $125 these in my opinion are better buy then Bose which go for $300. The Bose might do a better job, but these overall is a completely better value. And it is comfortable with clear sound quality although I wouldn want a little more volume out of it, it does a really good job. If your in the market for noise canceling headphones then this would be a good one to keep on your list.
