MoMA Watch...

momawatch.jpg

I think this is a cool looking watch from MoMA (Museum of Modern Art). Also if you haven’t been to the Museum you should go to it while in New York, its one of the best Museums I have ever been to, with the best galleries and something to interest everyone. I could spend days there. So this watch looks really cool, and you just have to put it on a different side to see the time zone you are in. Its supposed to be a traveller clock, but I think its just a cool watch to have.

Westinghouse Digital Photo Frame...

westinghousepicframe.jpg

Usually I really am not keen on getting these types of frames because they seem to be made of low qualiyt and get old quick, but it turns out Westinghouse made a very nice looking one with some nice resolutions and multiple pics per screen. Its very nice.

Pogo Alert...

pogo-alert-336.jpg

This is the Pogo from Origin Technologies which is camera early warning system that works all across Europe. They have the Origin360 which is speed camera database system for all of Europe is updated constantly. This is only a camera warning system and not navigation, and its small enough that I think its great to be used anywhere. It goes for £249.95 including VAT.

I wish they had this kind of product for the Middle East, but I don’t think thats going to happen any time soon.

Crosley 1950s Style Payphone...

payphone.jpg

This is one of the coolest looking retro phones I have seen. Its sometimes funny using a phone like this, but to have one in your house now thats classic. It reminds me of when I tried using the payphones in the UK and US when I would travel there, back when mobiles were 1 ton bricks or in brief cases. For $100 you would have a classic piece of electronics.

Sony Bravia Kuwait Prices...

I have been looking around for screen prices, and the other day I popped into the Sony store in Kuwait, its sad that the prices in Kuwait is even more expensive then the UK which has a 17% Sales tax, and its still cheaper. In the US its even cheaper. I’m very much interested in the 52″ X series, but their pricing is really highway robbery.

PSP-PS2 Controller...

psp-ps2-controller-mod.jpg

I have to say that if your chilling at home and that is where you use your PSP then this is probably the best modification that can be made to it. And I honestly think its pretty cool just sitting there with a PSP screen in your face while holding the controller, assuming it has a rumble enabled. I don’t know if it will be a little top heavy, but I want to try it with a few games, I bet it would be fun.

Krell Evolution 707...

krell707a.jpg

I have been looking into a highend A/V reciever to upconvert to 1080p as well as handle multiple inputs and output to the output of my choice. With all the bells and whistles of top technology. I looked at Marantz, Denon, Surefire, Onkyo, and a few others and I have ended up with the conclusion that this is the best A/V reciever currently out there. There will always be something better coming out at some point or another, but for a real home theater with the right setup this is the perfect reciever and it has every type of Audio and Video processing, but it has to be used with the highest components. I don’t even want to start quoting the technical details since I only know about 70% of the information that is being said, but it still covers the bases. As I said before it has to be justified to take something like this since the price of it is between $18’000 to $20’000. I saw the price after reading all the information about it, and it was like a shot in the foot. I won’t say its price isn’t justified, but you have to justify buying something with this type of techonolgy. If you want the best then this is it.

SimpleHuman Sensor Can...

simplehuman.jpg

This is probably one the best practical invention I have seen, I have always managed to flip or break the trash cans with step lid opening mechanicm, but for this one they were smart. You put your foot in the sensor area at the bottom and it will open, there is also a little mechanism to keep it open if you need to while cooking. It can operate on a power adapter on a few D-Cell batteries. I love these types of practical inventions because it makes things simpler around the house. I remember just buying a trash can with an open lid so I can just toss things in it while cooking to keep the are clean, but later on the smell of whatever you threw would still be there unless you throw out the trash right then and there. This gives you an alternative option and it just makes things more convenient.

WD My World Book Edition II...

myworldbook.jpg

It seems Western Digital is coming out with some new Network Area Storages.

It comes with a Gigabit Ethernet Connection and has a USB 2.0 expansion slot more storage drives. It comes in this new sleek white look, and since I have the My Book Premium Edition I really like this solid build and look. This one is a little wider since it comes in two version. 1 TB for $479 and 500 GB for $279 and both of them are Raid 1 capable to keep your data safe.

The nifty feature of this NAS is that it has a piece of software which lets you access it over the internet directly from work or abroad as a standalone unit so that you can put things in it or take things out as if you are at home, which seems to be an interesting feature and overall I think the price is extremely reasonable.

New Sharp Aquos R-Series...

aquoslc65.jpg

This is the new Sharp LCD series and they look damn nice. Ranging from 65″ ($8400) to 42″ ($4200), with a large amount of features. It seems they are revamping their screens and have come up with a line that will entice people to pick up the sharp. I have to say that I really like the way they look and the features they have, it doesn’t have the highest contrast ratio I have seen, but the screens do seem impressive.

Features:

  • 1080P
  • 3 HDMI
  • 1 DVI
  • 176 Degree Viewable

These are just some of the technical features that I notice, but it seems they have a lot to offer especially for those prices. I’m assuming its going to drop, I really want to see these screens in real life to judge if they are as good as the specifications look.
