X-Box 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit...

xbox-hard-drive-transfer-to.jpg

If you went and got the new 120 GB for your X-Box 360 instead of going out and buying the X-Box 360 Elite then this informaiton would be useful for you. Basically you want to transfer all the information on your 20 GB Hard Drive to the new 120 GB Hard Drive since you don’t want to lose your profile or all the game points and other information.

What you can do:

  • You can stop the transfer and not lose data but you would have to start from scratch again since it doesn’t start where you left off.
  • You can transfer all your game data
  • You can only transfer data once, and thats it! So if your drive is fried you can’t transfer data again so do it carefully
  • A CD comes with the transfer kit, following the instructions does help, and KEEP everything after your done.

What you can’t do:

  • You can’t transfer movie rentals
  • You can’t transfer certain Market Content, unless you get authorization online, but I’m not sure how thats supposed to work

What you do:

  • Put the CD in the X-Box 360 and let the instructions come up
  • Keep your 20 GB Hard Drive on your X-Box 360
  • Connect the wire to the back of the X-Box 360
  • Then connect the wire to the 120 GB Hard Drive
  • Following the on screen instructions the transfer begins, and it tells you how long its going to take. With a full drive it could take up to an hour and a half.

Buffalo’s WLI-U2-(S)G54HG USB adap...

buffaloattennas1.jpg

It seems that Buffalo is coming out with their USB Wifi Antennas this month. At first I thought they were only coming out with one USB Antenna for the PC. The usual wireless-g card can get about 150ft for a PC or Laptop but these antennas extend that distance to 1600 feet (500 m), there are two kinds of antennas they are releasing this May. One is a directional antenna with a strength indicator so you can figure out where the strongest signal is coming from and you can point it in that direction, and then there is the omni-directional one which sticks to the back of your laptop LCD. The omni-directional antenna is the one I am looking forward to trying, and I want to see what are the real results of using these antennas, 1600 feet does sound great, but I want to see what it is does in a building with multiple floors.

Tivo Upgrades – Weaknees.com...

tivoseries-3.jpg

I remember back in the day when I had a the Tivo Series 1 and Tivo Series 2. I modified my Tivo series one to include a 200 GB hard drive from weaknees.com and I also modified my Tivo Series 2 after a year of having it by buying the modification kit from Weaknees again. I also bought a new ready modified Tivo Series two from weaknees after selling my Tivo Series 1. The modified one worked right out of the box better then the original with more capacity. I have to say that if anyone wants to modifiy there tivo or buy a readily modified tivo then this is the tivo to get. Its a fantastic store and great service, I love dealing with companies like these and they make the Tivo more enjoyable to have.

X-Box 360 Elite...

The New X-Box 360 Elite is currently available. Its going for $479 and you get the 120GB Hard Drive and HDMI connection. It does come in all Matte black with all the extra features. But from the articles and comparisons if you currently have an X-Box 360 then you are better off keeping it and just purchasing a 120GB Hard Drive for the X-Box 360 and transfer everything from one hard drive to the other. The sound quality is the same, they are both using the 90nm chip so that hasn’t changed, and HD DVD quality isn’t improved so much that its noticable at 1080p. If you don’t have an X-Box 360 then this is a good purchase and if you do then just get the 120 GB Hard Drive.

TEAC Filltune HiFi Bone Conducting Headp...

teacheadphones.jpg

Description:

“Teac Japan release the world’s first high fidelity bone-conducting headphones. Unlike the other bone-conducting gadgets, the HP-F100 is made for HiFi sound reproduction.”

The TEAC headphones seemed to transfer loud and clear music straight your bone so you won’t blast your ears out, and its foldable with about 10 hours playback with 3 AAA Batteries. I’m just not sure if its worth $499, I know you can listen to loud music and listen to world around you but its still a bit pricy. I would want to try it out though.

This is one of the most interesting in car PCs I have seen yet. It ranges from $700 up to $2200 depending on the options you want included in it.

Features:

  • WiFi
  • Bluetooth
  • XM
  • Rearview camera
  • It can also interface with the car’s OBD II Unit and run vehicle Diagnostics

All of this running on Windows Vista MCE, which seems pretty nice all in one package, and it will fit in any Double Din space in the Dash of the car.

R.I.P Sony Stereo...

sonystereo1.jpg

This is the first Stereo that I bought from Sony back in 1993 when the Chicago Bulls were winning the NBA championships, Kid N Play were making movies, and I was playing and listening to NBA Jam. I remember buying this Stereo from the old Sony Store in Old Salmiya when it was the only store, and I was so happy I had this stereo. Two tape decks, three CDs, and the works. I couldn’t be happier, but now its 2007 and thats why I like Sony. It lasted over 15 years before it broke which is pretty good. And my nephew loves hitting the eject button on the tape deck and making it go back in which is very entertaining for him.

What is going wrong:

  • If you tried to go forward in tracks it would go forward two or jump back one.
  • If you turn the volume in either direction it might go up or down based on what it feels like.
  • For the final part, the tape deck won’t close on one side so its pretty much reached the end

The speakers are still good though and I have my stereo that I brought with me from the states which is pretty good.

HTC Shift...

This very portable pc or highend phone from HTC will be realeased in Q3 of 2007 and its packed with so many features you can’t help but want it. I can’t believe they packed all that technolgoy into something so small. This is a replacement for a laptop of you really want something mobile.

  • QWERTY style keyboard
  • Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA
  • Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • Wi-Fi
  • 7-inch widescreen touch display
  • 30GB hard drive
  • Windows Vista

TomTom One XL...

tomtomXLone.jpg

This is the new navigation device from TomTom with built in Map of the US & Canada or all of Europe internally, it also realtime traffic updates and fast loading times. The 4.3 inch touch screen is large and very simple to use. I wish this type of navigation device was available to be used in the Middle East with all the points of interest.
