Headset-lessss...

JABRABT500.gif

One day I left work and I knew that I left my I forgot my headset in the office and I was too lazy to turn around. I have been using a headset while driving for the past 5-6 years, so I have gotten used to it and I really like it since my hands are on the gear and steering wheel, it makes it especially easy when driving a manual.

The one time I left it in the office I was getting annoyed picking up the phone while driving. So the whole time I was driving I didn’t want to make phone calls or pick up the phone. It was driving me nuts that people were calling when I was driving, it was a funny feeling, I didn’t know I was going to get that annoyed, I would have turned around and picked up the headset if it was the case. The next day when I came into the office and found my headset I was happy I did, when I was driving it felt normal again if I wanted to talk on the phone. I have come to the point that I can’t talk the phone while driving without a headset.

X-Box 360 And Cat-6...

xbox-spring-update.jpg

I have been trying to get the wireless internet to the basement for the past few months but no luck since being two floors up and a lot of concrete really doesn’t help the signal. The reason I want to get internet down to the basement is to play X-Box Live and to stream media through my X-Box. I have connected two Cat-6 cables from my room through the pipes to the basement, and I connected to the router.

X-Box has just anounced compatibility with H.264 and MPEG-4 which is what most of my media is, so now I can stream my shows directly throw it. I know that there is the XBMC that was developed for the early X-Box with lots of compatibility, but I dont want to use the old one. This May update has done a few things I wasn’t expected such as stopping the ability of downloading HD Trailers which is really annoying. I’m currently happy with the X-Box 360 and I really enjoy the online gameplay.

Review: Tumi Universal Adapter Kit...

tumipowerkit1.jpg

I picked this up from Tumi in London about four months ago now, and I have to say I’m extremely happy with it. At first I thought I could use it for different laptops, and maybe a phone. It was a little steep in price but I didn’t mind it too much since I knew I was going to make use of it. And now since my original power adapter burnt out it is what I am using, and I wish I used it before since it is so good.

Review: Sony 2 GB Mirco Tiny Vault...

2gbmicrovault.jpg
2gbmicrovault1.jpg

2gbmicrovault3.jpg

This is one of the smallest 2 GB memory stick I have seen on the market. I have been using a huge flash drive to carry around with me in my brief case to transfer files at work and other things if needed. I wanted something smaller that I can carry with me every where but those USB key chain type memory seemed slightly bulky for me.

When I found this little piece of memory, I thought it would fit my needs perfectly.

The memory stick is a little thicker then a credit card, it comes with a small rubber pouch which can be used. The pouch itself keeps it protected and doesn’t let it fall out at all. I have been using it for the past few weeks and I am very impressed with it. I use to transfer media files for myself, and documents and important things for work between computers.

It has worked with XP, Vista, and OS X without any issues which really surprised me. One thing I kepted in mind is that when they come this thin they have to sacrifice something and for this memory stick it was speed. Comparison to a normal sized memory stick it is a bit on the slower side but its not that bad. The other part which is slightly annoying is the green color, the 1 GB comes in a nice blue, I wish they had other colors to choose from or something less flashy, but for $50 I’m very happy with it.

Kohler Sound Tile in-shower speakers...

kholerspeaker.jpg

I don’t know why it took so long to develop something like this. Kholer has worked with Polk Audio to develop the in-shower speakers that work with Kholers DTV II or any vanila sound system. I wouldn’t mind having this in the shower, but I bet that would make showers take even longer then normal. Its a four by four inch enclosure with marina certified wiring and a stainless steel front grill. They sell these by the pair and they go for $295 in May.

Belkin Wi-Fi Phone for Skype...

belkinskype.jpg

There are a lot of use for Skype especially with all the international calls people make, this makes Skype very useful. Skype to Skype calls are free, but to land lines it is a very low fee. With the Belkin it totally frees you from the use of your computer to make Skype calls, you sign into the phone with your account. The phone can only handle single Skype accounts, to sign in with a different one you have to sign out using the keypad to put in the password.

The battery power only lasts about an hour of usage and there is a charging base. This phone can only be used in free wifi spots such as your home, work, or friend’s place. It won’t work in a pay type network which requires a payment interaction to access the network. For a first gen Skype phone it is a great phone and going for $160 its reasonable comparison to the other Skype phones out there.

Microsoft unveils limited edition Simpso...

simpsons-xbox-360.jpg

It seems Microsoft is producing a limited edition X-Box 360 with the Simpsons theme for the movie. Only 100 will be made and handed out in special events, but they are only doing it for with 20GB version. Personally I would be scared to have this machine in the same room with me, its too much yellow on one machine, I don’t think they could make it more annoying!

Pioneer 8G 1080p Plasma TVs...

pioneer-8g-plasma.jpg

Pioneer is now on its 8th Generation of Plasma TVs and with this Television they have taken an extra step to provide a 20000:1 contrast ratio which is amazing. As well as providing sharp and bright images with lots of depth. Pioneer were the first to market with 1080P Plasmas and their equipment is fantastic, the only problem is the lack of representation in Kuwait. I would have bought a Pioneer Plasma before but I don’t know where to go or where to get it from in Kuwait, but they do have good products. The new one is going for $5000 and with this type of specs its a good bargain!
