One of the very interesting interior desingers that I really like is Andrew Martin, a very funky British Interior Desinger with a unique style to his items. I love the vintage feel that his furniture has, I even found a vintage USSR Rocket sitting at about 4 meters high in his store. He has some very cool items, and there is a mix of modern and vintage in his style. I don’t know why but I love the Union Jack and he has used it on a lot of his furniture, feels very cool and funky. It would be interesting to put together a room with his style of items.

414 Meters Tall, The Tallest Concrete Structure in the World, uniquely designed to the highest specifications. With all the considerations and advancements they have made with this tower it is one of the highest quality building in the region, if not Asia.
I got invited to take a tour of the Al Hamra Project and was joined by Ansam518, and turned into a private tour of an amazing structure. What got a tour of the model to see how it is put together, what they did to bring this tower to life. I for one am very much looking forward to seeing this property open.
There are three parts to the Al Hamra Project, the Luxury Mall, the Parking Structure, and the Tower Itself. The ingenuity and design of this building is something that hasn’t been seen in this region before and I am thankful they went through this. The work that they did for this tower made the Municipality change and update their codes for these super structures, they took it upon themselves to make them understand that a superstructure and Prime Class A tower such as Al Hamra had its own set of codes to creature a structure such as this. They went against every wall, every political barrier that was laid in front of them, and every obstacle ahead of them and still came up with a structure such as this. I really am proud that a building such as this has come up in Kuwait.
The shopping mall will be a very nice combination of shops, close to downtown, Grand Cinemas will be opening up with every theater being a VIP theater, and I’m looking forward to good food in the cinemas at last. The parking structure can hold 2000 cars but knowing Kuwait that won’t be nearly as much as needed but lets hope that there will be times when its empty. There is a rentable space 1700 square meters per floor with an amazing unobstructed 360 degree view of Kuwait, on clear day you can see very far. With the ways they have designed the elevators you won’t wait longer then 30 seconds for an elevator. With the rear of each floor having a unique corridor which overlooks a limestone clad wall curved for a specific design. The curving stone slab covered rear of the building it is designed in a way to take the most heat during the day and keeping it cool and to disperse the heat from the sun. When I was in the office areas the windows were still dusty and needed to be cleaned and I wondered how that would happen, to my surprise there are two robots that cover the whole length of the tower and take 30 days to go from top to bottom of the tower which is impressive.
There is a 3700 square meter spa and gym for women that will open up and have rooftop access to the the Luxury Mall. At the top floor of the Al Hamra Tower will be the triple height restaurant concept and ballroom with the two floors below it turned into a type of chairman’s club. This is what happens when a creative group of dedicated people have the chance to work on an amazing work of architecture such as this. I want to thank the marketing team at Al Hamra for inviting me to this amazing project and for the effort they have put into it.
The I DRAW CARS Sketchbook & Reference Guide is an indispensible tool for students, designers, hobbyists, artists and car enthusiasts. We’ve designed the ultimate car design field guide by pairing commonly used industry reference materials with a ubiquitous and iconic moleskine-style sketchbook.
I have always thought about being an vehicle designer or an industrial engineer, some one who gets to design those amazingly cool cars. Matt Marrocco and Adam Hubres are two designers/engineers who work in this industry and wanted to provide a book and tool that can help people develop this skill. I love that they have gone with the Moleskine look for this book and they have put a lot of effort into it, all the different perspectives and designs. I for one have zero skill in drawing even though I sketch a lot in my Moleskine so I pledged right away, I love that they have a sketch over section so I can improve my horrible skills and I would love to add this to my collection. If you like this sort of thing check out their website and then head over to Kickstarter to pledge for the book. I hope this is a first edition and they come up with other design books soon.

I love the idea of popular logos made to reflect Star Wars Form! My favorite is the Reebok redo which is pretty cool.

One of the interesting stands in 52 Degrees belongs to Bibi Alghanim, an interior designer who has been recognized all around Europe and the Middle East over the last year or two. She currently has a special showing at 52 Degrees and I really think you should visit if you have a chance, I love some of the pieces she has.
A little while back I came across Kickstarter and saw that its a website with people pledging for innovating products and designs. Lunatik was product that was getting a lot of press and for good reason, its an amazingly designed and simple. I pledged for it right away because I liked it even though I don’t have a Nano.
I pledged and got the LunaTik & the TikTok and I picked up a Graphite 16GB Nano when the LunaTik went out for delivery, and then I got a Silver Nano as a gift later on. The funny part is I never had a reason to buy a Nano, I had the old Nano and it was perfect for my riding needs but when this came along I went ahead got one. So I was just waiting for the delivery of the LunaTik to come along.
I got a notification of the arrival in my mailbox at myUS. Right away I had it sent to Kuwait and was looking forward to getting my hands on it. Opening the box right away I love the packaging, so simple and nice design to display the product, and they send you the tools to dismantle the LunaTik. Right away I opened up the TikTok and placed the iPod Nano in it, and started syncing it. Then I opened up the Lunatik

There’s security, and then there’s paranoia. The Safe House outside Warsaw, in Poland, appears to fall decisively into the latter category. It looks all bright and airy — almost Miesian, at first blush. But in an instant, the whole thing can mutate, Transformer-style, into an impenetrable concrete fortress that makes your local survivalist’s panic room look like a baby’s crib.
When I first saw the structure I thought it was interesting, I kept going back and forth between the pictures. I realized that this home is a fortress, completely armored home perfect to hold your ground against zombies. These are fully moveable walls operating on self sufficient mechanisms to keep the inhabitants from all exterior threat, and there are safe zones between the entrance and the main house that must be cleared with the right passcodes so you may enter. I don’t have a clue why someone would need a structure such as this in Poland but its damn cool, I wonder how much it cost to put in the machines that can move all these walls. And yes it has a retractable bridge, unless it had the Batcave right under it it couldn’t get any cooler.

I’m not one for the hut style house but I do love the landscaping and the outdoor area of the house. The design of the infinite pool is amazing with the ocean just over the hill. This is a very nice open air design which is free of clutter and has a very fresh feeling to it. The villa has 6 double bedrooms, 2 living rooms and 2 dining rooms and can accommodate up to 16 people. This would be a very nice beach house design but our temperature go a little bit to high for it to be open air. I especially like the lighting and the open spaces of it, it feels very relaxing and serene.
The project “is a perfect hideaway of absolute privacy and comfort. The main entrance features a covered walkway over a 2.000 square foot reflecting pool of black volcanic candistone. Lined with columns of white palimanan sandstone, the walkways lead to the East and West bedroom suites which flank the great room, the villa‘s central focal point. Construction followed a deliberate theme of rustic simplicity through the selection of natural materials such as sandstone, bamboo and Cristobal wooden doors and flooring. The result is a blend of casual elegance and comfortable luxury.â€

The interior solution follows a functional space distribution, coinciding with the blocks’ intersections, over 3 floors. The different levels are connected by a series of flights of stairs, located on a fixed part of the building and ending on a beautiful glass floor corridor that connects with the upper level.
With 2000 square meters to work with A-Cero have design a modern marvel with this piece of architecture. The blocks forming and design making a very formidable building, but it still feels very fresh and open. With two master suites featuring their own walk-in closets and bathrooms, a gym, kitchen, solarium, an imposing living area, and a amazing terrace. Based on the design and materials of the house it looks to be built from expensive materials, then you could see the Beolab 5 Speakers sitting in the living room adding to the decoration and costing well over $15’000, so I’m assuming everything else is on the same level of quality and price.

Offices of Moleskine is always worth visiting, and this time around WhereWeDesign have taken a look of their offices. I’m not sure of which office this is but its just as nice as the Moleskine Italy HQ from my previous post. I would want to grab and use all those notepads on those shelves, I love that certain colors mean certain things, I got used to their labeling. I wonder what other ideas they have in the works, I just recently placed an order Moleskine Folio Cover for the iPad, but its out of stock but hopefully I will get it as they restock. Moleskines you can never have enough of them.
