I think my laptop is going a downward slope! It tried reformatting it and working on it, but its acting in the wierdest of ways. The speakers arent working anymore as I mentioned before, but at least a while ago it was on and off, but now its just off. Secondly now I have to log in, and then log out, and then log in to get it working! hehehehehe!
I feel like Im being propelled to get a MacBook more and more! It has fought good fight, and take a lot of hits! But I feel like Im working on a disabled laptop! hehe! I like watching anime on it, but now I have totally lost that ability and its driving me nuts!
So I have mentioned in a previous post that I really want this Dell screen. But I have been patient to find out any details about it. Now since it has been out for a little while the prices on the screen has dropped, and I have been thinking about purchasing this screen, but I have been preoccupied with other things.
After walking around Wala’a complex the other day I found a place called TransLink which carried Dell screens, since I know the official Dell dealer in Kuwait doesnt carry Dell screens for some reason. I walked in and asked them if they have the 2407 WFP and how much do they sell for. They had the 19inch in stock sitting on the shelves which was going for 95KD. He told me they dont have it in stock and its an order item only with up front payment. I told him thats not a problem except I want to know what the payment is, so he took my number and said he would call me with the price. I was ok with that since I wasn’t going to jump the gun even if they had it.
So the guy called me back one day later and told me the price of the screen is 319 KD = $1103.
I was falbergasted! Shocked to say the least!
The price qouted on Dell’s website is $747.15, which is extremely cheaper. There is a 108KD difference between there price and the Dell website price. When I called him to tell him he said that his cost is $900.00 and shipping was $190.00, and I asked him what kind of shipping is are they doing and through who. He then told me that is all he can do. I think if I do buy the screen it will be from an online company.
I download a lot of anime, TV series, and other stuff using torrents. I download so much that I need to keep my torrent client open for many days. And after a while I get all that I wanted. As you can tell from the image above I download a lot and I have a lot of tabs open on firefox!
I have tried different BitTorrent Clients:
BitTornado
ABC Torrent
BitTorrent
Azureus
The best one I have found with all the updates is Azureus BitTorrent Client, it seems to get downloads quick and make sure things are working great. And you can configure the settings down to the packet size being downloaded, and many other custumizations. And it has a lot better interface then most Torrent Clients, and it gets update regularly and runs on Java.
It also has some really useful plugins. So If Im surfing and using my bandwidth Azureus has plug-in called autospeed which caps the speed on the downloading and uploading. So I would be surfing without any problems. There are regular updates for Azureus, and its always being developed further.
It supports Windows, Linux, and OSX. And their wiki is extremely useful with all the details of how to solve networking problems.
The only problem I have is with my linksys router. To be exact its the WRT54G, and its a router I have had for a long time, and I do like linksys routers from using them in the states, and the features they provide. I forwarded all ports which are needed for UDP and TCP to Azureus through the router, but there are still some problems I face with it. Even if I set the computer with Azureus as a DMZ it still has some problems connecting with certain details, but never any problems downloading. It alway downloads everything perfectly.
I think it is the best Torrent Client out there and I think people would like using it. But there is always room for improvement. That is why I gave it a 4.5 out of 5.
Update spelling changed from Azueres to Azures thanks to CyberRowdy

Ok I like cool PC cases just like anyone else, but I like the clean look.
This PC case is the best looking PC case that I have ever seen which isnt normal! I think this would look great behind my plasma screen. But Damn this looks cool!!!! And it has lost of space to do what you would like with it as well as all the adequate cooling! If I were to have this I would have to watch every Batman movie (no matter how bad), before I watch any other movie for the opening ceremony!!

More Pics and Info at Computer Choppers.
My laptop has been acting funny the past 4 months. A bit of acting here, and some tweaking there and I get it back in shape! But now it has gone too far as to interfere with my Anime viewing! My computer has had a bit of a problem with its speakers the past couple of weeks, and thats what I watch my Anime on at night. But the speakers clear out after a bit of watching! But now the computer says I dont even have speakers! I tried reintalling the drivers with no real difference! Ran a couple of fix programs and nothing has fix!And I have had this laptop for 1.6 years! And I put this laptop through a lot! For a while I was traveling so much that it became my main computer! But still!!!
“Off with his head”
Now Im really feeling the black MacBook!!
This is the new External HD from Maxtor which has a Gigabit Connection. A 500 GB 7200Rpm HD with a very clean AJAX (Google looking) Interface! It makes things really easy and makes streaming simple. Its more of a multimedia type Network Area Storage then a back storage on the network. But the one thing I worry about enclosure for Network Area Storages is if the hard drive fails! But it still looks sweet!!
I still think the Infrant NV is the way to go!

This list never ends! Seriously! I was just thinking of all the things I want to get later on when I save up enough cash. Which will disappear into this list. And my list of gadgets never end, but at least it keeps me entertained!
1) Dell 2407WFP
It looks like such a cool screen, and the one before it was rated so high (2405FPW). And I have a Dell 20.1 Widescreen which is so freaking clear and good, but for some reason I just want the bigger one! dont ask me why! I just do!

2) Infrant NV 1.6TB
I have been looking for the best solution for a Network Area Storage that is very reliable and very useful at the same time. At first I was looking at the Buffalo 1TB Terastation, but then I read about all the problems people were having with it and it wasnt as simple as it was stated. And then I was thinking about getting the Maxtor OneTouch III 1TB, and I waited for reviews on this one as well. I was looking forward to it, because their NAS’s and external Hard Drives did so well. So I thought that the company would also have another successful product. But I was wrong, and some people are having difficulty with it. So after looking through multiple reviews and seeing my options I found the Infrant NV to be an amazing products with almost Zero drawbacks and everyone saying how happy they are with the product. Especially since the hard drives are all hot-swappable, and its a very simple system to setup and you dont need a computer to access it if you want to stream things from it. And one major thing that I found to be great is that it has a Gigabit connection unlike all the other Consumer grade NASs for some reason they think that we dont want Gigabit speed for out network! So now I am very happy to find that this product does the job. But now the price is always up there for a good product! And I found it at other places cheaper then amazon by about $200, but I still have to wait and save!

These are the two major products that I have been looking at for the past couple of weeks, and I have been thinking about them for a while! So many gadgets and so little time!
I went the other day to Marina Mall after having a quick visit to the dentist. And it wasnt a bad visit to the dentist, but I dread going to the dentist for any reason! And after I was done I went for a quick visit to Marina Mall since it was empty. I wanted to take a look at a couple things at the One, but on the way there I stopped inside the Apple Center just to see how rediculous the prices of their products are.
So after finding out the price of the MacBook I decided to try finding how much the other places sell the MacBook for based on Mark’s previous information gathering on the MacBook Pro. Thank you Mark. These are prices for the matt black MacBook
Apple Center
590KD = $2034.00
Solize

Kamal Al Sultan

zMacShop
550KD = $1896.00
And none of them have it in stock yet, everybody told me another week or two. So anyone with their right mind would by it online and wait for it. Since they are using the usual Kuwait pricing scale when selling these products.
I saw this huge list of free useful Apple software, which seemed pretty good. I thought a lot of it was pretty damn good! If you have an apple you should take a look at it!

ClockX
Its a normal clock Utility that I have been using for the past 4 months. Its really useful and easily configurable. It has at least 50 different skins that can be applied to the clock. The features which I find fantastic is the alarm. You can setup as many alarms as you like as well what the alarm does. It can play an mp3, execute a program. And different variations of when this alarm can go off. I have set 4 different alarms to go off daily from 6:30am until 7:15am because sometimes its hard as hell to get out of bed and having a good song or two playing in the background isnt too bad. The one thing it cant do is play from a list of mp3s randomly, so the same a alarm time but different songs everytime. That would be cool. And you can pretty much execute an program you, and it can shutdown your computer at a certain time if you want. Also the clock icon can be clearly seen, and you can place it anywhere. I placed it on the top right of my screen. I usually look at it from far or close, and it can be resized to any size you want. And if your surfing and you want to click a link thats under it, you can set it so that it goes transparent once the mouse goes over it. Which I find to be an amazing feature! This utility looks like it came from an apple because it looks so good, and clean!

Hamachi
I know a lot of people who want to access information on their home desktops and work, or when your traveling. There are a lot of solutions out their. From paid solutions such as GoToMyPC or VNC which requires some technical saavy. I have tried a lot of things and I have been successful with VNC, but I always have to spend a while checking the firewall settings on the work server, or my incoming ports at my home computer to make sure everything is working properly or trying to figure out where the problem is.
I have always been on the look for software solutions which are simple to use and implement. And Hamachi is the perfect solution. Ofcourse you will be experiencing a certain degree of lag, but it is the easiest software to setup and use. And they offer a lot of help through their forum to configure different firewalls if you have any problems. I tried it from my work computer to access the information on my desktop at home and it worked perfectly. All I had to do was configure accesss through ZoneAlarm on my desktop. This is an amazing piece of software, because its like logging on to a chat where you see all your friends, but in this case you are seeing all your computers so you may access anything that you have shared on them. And only a person on your network can access that information since you have to have the password to access that person’s network of computers. Its really secure information and I really like how polished the look is. And the best part is that its free.
