I always liked the design of BRM watches but recently I managed to check out a few, and I was surprised at the lack of quality of the straps. I still like the design but very disappointed with the quality, usually a watch maker chooses a nice plastic or leather strap to complement the watch, but their straps are very rigid and feel cheap.
The movement is floating inside the case with a rigid axis holding it in place. Its an interesting piece from BRM, the W44 id going for 4050€ and the W50 model for 4650€.

It seems like Ducati is spreading into the fashion industry, some of those women look pretty funny in motorcycle leathers from top to bottom.
After a few months of waiting I have finally gotten my Corel Riley Arai Corsair RX7. There was a long waiting list for this helmet, the moment they made this helmet it was flying off the shelves. I tend to think you can’t have enough helmets, and this helmet is unique with the RX7 type helmet. I do love the smell of a new helmet, now the only thing I can do is to wait for the weather to get mildly better and less humid.
Some people consider time pieces art work, and I think I do have a certain appreciation for these time pieces. And some of these time pieces have very high pricing due to the craftsmanship behind them, but this watch feels more like a gimick then a piece of art. Romain Jerome somehow secured the remains of the Titantic and it is the only company able to use the materials of this historic ship, and from these materials they created a line of limited watches, and they have been very successful and so to continue on this route they have created the Romain Jerome Day & Night Watch. The best thing about this watch is that it can’t tell time, but it can tell day and night, and they consider it a revolutionary idea. Personally I think its a marketing gimick, but it was another success for them, they made only 9 pieces of these at $300’000 each and sold them all.

I tend to be attracted to peculiar and interesting watches, and this watch caught my eye as I was walking past this store. I walked in and took a look around and asked to see this watch. I tried it on and it was the first time I’ve heard of this brand but it looked great. It looked like a high end automatic watch, and when I asked they told me it was a tourbillon. This is a special kind of watch and it was a good fit, but I knew it would be expensive so I took it off and returned. When I asked for the price I’m happy I didn’t scratch but it did have a good design with the see through center.

I have a thing for watches, I always get attracted to the slightly bulky and odd looking watches. There is an art to them, and I have always like the look of BRM watches. I thought they always had this unique mechanical looking design to them. I saw the watch just recently and I tried it on thinking it was nice but the strap was very stiff for a rubber strap. I thought it would be expensive but the price is nothing short of ridiculous, it is unique the quality doesn’t justify the price, maybe the quality of the watch itself it high but not 10x what I thought it would be.

I ordered this helmet and today I saw a nice very large box. I knew what it was but the anticipation was also nice, this is one Arai’s new design and now I have two Haga helmets. The first one I got about three years ago now, and now this one, I’m a fan of Nitro Nori and so I get the helmets. It also helmets that the RX7 line of Arai is very highquality and a perfect fit for me. Now I just want the weather to cool down a bit before I use it, I don’t want to sweat in the helmet from the first time I use it.
