Aventador J – A Sports Bike Built ...

I do love when companies build machines totally out of passion for the machine and not the ecomonics behind it. This is Lamborghini Aventador J is made from pure passion and you look like you are getting into a jet fighter hybrid about to take off, flying cars from the future should look like this. It has the same guts as the LP 700-4 but Navigation.. Gone, Climate Control.. Gone, and they tried to make it as light as possible. Surprisingly this machine is or was up for sale, and it sold for 2.1 Million Euros, if I had that kind of money I would have bought it and to the lucky guy enjoy. This machine is a one off, none will be made other then this one.

GT-86 Drifting...

I can’t help but want to slide around in empty parking lot after seeing this video, maybe a short quick drift or slide. Two Toyota GT86 coupes were parked in this empty parking lot, all that’s missing is the not-so judicious application of one’s right foot. Two pro drift drivers recently got the chance to fling the GT86 around in a quick battle, and the result is a video that shows just how controllable the GT86 is right out of the box.

GulfRun 7 – Engines Revving To Go...

GR7

Things have come full swing and GulfRun is around the corner, today is the car wash event that I do enjoy so much. A ton of different kinds of machines coming around this time of year and some of them are really modified and ready for the track, everyone is taking this seriously and each year the caliber of cars and drivers just keeps going up. The car show is always entertaining at 360 Mall especially so many machines are on display especially the ones that are supposed to be indoors.

Kuwait:
Thursday, Jan 12th: Al-Falah Carwash

  • 6:00pm – 10:00pm |Stickers placement

Friday, Jan 13th: 360 Mall

  • 10:00am – 10:00pm | Car Show

Saturday, Jan 14th: 360 Mall

  • 10:00am – 10:00pm | Car Show

There have been a few changes to the track, and I’m really looking forward to checking out Outer Circuit, I have never done that before. As for the Karting, Bahrain International Circuit have the best Go Karting circuit in the world which is going to be very cool to try it out.

Avoid 5th Ring Road...

5THRR

This is one of the things that I really get annoyed with. On Friday and Saturday mornings from 6 am onwards there is almost no one on the road, and the roads belong to the bikers. Over the past three weeks there have police check points just after going under the round about on the Visa Round About heading towards Bede’a on 5th. It is a speed trap since everyone is used to traveling 120 on 5th Ring Road, but just before going the underpass it changes from 120 kph to 80 so if you are going 130 kph then you are doing 50 kph over the speed limit and they fine you, take your license and registration. Some cars also get towed depending on how fast they were going, and they were even stopping bikers. Most of the time police leave bikers alone but at this check point they pull people over and either tow them or hold them for a few hours.

I would honestly think that they would have much better things to do instead of hassling people that early in the morning and it police check point starts around 6 or 7 am, ends around 10 or 11 am on both Friday and Saturday.

Liberty Walk In Japan...

The Japanese are known for being organized and uniform or extreme, never in the middle, some people conform and some go the extreme. Wataru Kato is the owner of this very cool garage out of Japan that build some of the craziest exotic cars with one main purpose in mind, fun!

Donkervoort D8 GTO...

Dutch sports car maker Doonkervoort was planed a D8 GTO revamp for last year, and they have come through with this beast a year later. The D8 GTO was fitted with a slightly modified 2.5-liter TSFI Audi Engine, and they worked with the Audi engineers to cater the engine to this machine. I love the look of this machine and I think its a beast, I would love to see this machine in real life and try it out. While the first set of 25 cars with the Audi engines are already on sale right now, you can expect the “regular” versions with an a different engine later in 2012. Prices start at €100,000 ($130,130) and can go as high as €150,000 ($195,210)

The car sports a “steel-tube frame is wrapped in carbon panels and a one-piece door that swings up quasi Koenigsegg style”. It makes 340-400 horsepower depending on whether you flick a “race module” switch, and 331 pound-feet of torque. Those numbers in a two-seater that weighs just 1,540 pounds should make this the quickest car in Donkervoort’s stable.

GulfRun @ GUST Carnival...

I got a chance to check out GUST for the first time, and they had the GulfRun booth in the center next to FoilArt & Zain. This was my first time to enter the GUST campus in Mishref and I have to say that I was impressed as an outsider the only thing that they are missing is a parking structure even though it does have ample parking. I didn’t walk through the facility completely but I was impressed with what I did see, and I really liked the spirit of the students.

The Carnival is an event organized by the Student Association and I have to say they did a very good job organizing it. I like the setup and it was in a nice area with a lot of walking space, and in the circular courtyard were the food booths. There were a lot of student entrepreneurs and its great to see them trying to sell their products and services. The funny part for me was seeing the GulfRun booth just in front of Zain since the Wataniya Logos were all over the cars, but they seemed to be a good sport about it, and the Zain Zone people were pretty nice. My surprise was seeing the Lotus 211 parked right there and the Lamborghini Aventador parked on the side walk as well. While I was roaming around I also picked up a lot of Kettle Corn from Popcornopolis.

Much Needed Detailing @ Al Falah...

Its been too long since I have had my car detailed, I have even drove it much over the year. I took it for a very necessary service to get the beemer in optimal state, and I still had a few of the GulfRun stickers on the car. They fully detailed the car which took about a day and a half so I picked it up the next morning. Full exterior, interior, and engine detail brought the car back to a beautiful shine, damn it looked even better then it was at the dealer for the first time.

Whenever I leave Al Falah Car Wash I have to keep in mind that my tires were shined and just washed so I have to take it easy when I leave. But I just couldn’t help myself in such a clean car I just wanted to drive like a bat out of hell, and the roads were completely empty, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face as I was driving down the highway with the music blasting.

Ariel Atom 3 Wimmer RS...

The Ariel Atom 3 is already an insane vehicle on the road, its more like a go-kart on steroids able to take any turn at high speeds, and fly in any direction. You must have the skill to control the car since its extremely light and very powerful. Wimmer RS took this machine one step further by tuning it and replacing a few parts to take it from 300 hp to 340 hp.

This machine can do wonders on the track, and now its even faster then before. Not to say that it wasn’t fast in the first place but this is just an insane amount of power. With the little boost it can do 0-62 mph (100kmh) in a shockingly fast 2.8 seconds.

GulfRun Meet Up In THE Warehouse...

This was a bit of a different type Wednesday night full of car fuel and lots drivers and some very cool machines. There were even PS3 Racing Units in the back from XCite that people were driving the F1 tracks on and taking it very seriously. This is GulfRun’s Seventh event and it just keeps on growing, they showed us a few different events that they have planned for Bahrain not including whats coming up in the car show. Again the best part was eating the shawarma in the chilly weather, it really warmed you up.

I loved seeing all the familiar faces and also meeting a lot of new people, its like a get together of a lot of good people. Then there was the lovely collection of cars, as usual the star of the show is the Porsche 993 Gemballa which is a gem to see, then there was the Ferrari 599, a CST-V out front, and a very very interesting 700+ horsepower Hennessy Camaro. Always something interesting to find out especially about the new machines joining this year which honestly have me scared out of my wits because of what they are capable of. The GulfRun 360 Mall Car Show is taking place on the 13th and 14th of June which is going to have the very interesting line up. GulfRun 7 takes place in Bahrain International Circuit on the 26th and 27th of January, it really is around the corner. You could feel your adrenaline rise while you are in that warehouse everybody was talking cars, parts, tools, garages, and what they need to do to prepare.
