Arab Playboys Race Their Supercars Aroun...

It seems that Bloomberg News finally caught up with our report last month on the cabal of mega-rich Arab playboys who made London the world’s supercar capital this summer, shipping an estimated $80 million worth of eye-popping vehicles to the city while waiting out the heat in the UAE. As we noted at the time, Bugatti Veyrons have been seen cruising in Knightsbridge and making Mayfair seem more like Le Mans, while both the Bugatti a Pagani Zonda Cinque, one of only five in the world, are often parked at the Dorchester Hotel where some of the super-rich studs are staying. Rolls-Royces, custom Mercedes-McLaren SLRs, Lamborghinis, Koenigseggs, Ferraris and more are commonplace in certain posh neighborhoods, where protest groups have been formed to combat the problem. Of course, all those powerful machines in a densely populated area sometimes leads to trouble. Check out some of the video footage assembled by Bloomberg on the subject.

I recognized the parking lot of the Dorchester and all the license plates were from the UAE and Qatar. The image that these guys are projecting of the GCC countries is just horrible, these guys will never really learn. Before these guys it was the Russians that were going crazy in London but these guys over run London in the summer.

Ferrari 599 – SA Aperta...

Ferrari have taken their lovely 599 GTB and made it even lovelier with this topless version, or what they name it the SA Aperta. As usual it is expected to be priced at a premium but Ferrari is only making 80 of them and they are all spoken for. I have to say that I do love the look of this machine. Ferrari is calling the drophead the SA Aperta in honor of none other than Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, their contributions to Ferrari’s design is unquestionable.

M5 RingTaxi – The GreenHell...

As any man who has an inkling to cars and driving fast I know of the Nuremberg Ring aka The GreenHell. One of the most sought after tracks in the world, every manufacturer tests their cars on that track to beat out other manufacturers. There was even that little shuffle between Porsche and Nissan, and Porsche threw a tantrum about a Japanese manufacturer beating them on their turf. I want to drive on the Nuremberg Ring and its simple to do it but I was think that I lack the skill to drive on it since a lot of professional drivers are on their at the same time, so its a no mercy situation, but their is a small solution and that would be the BMW M5 Ring Taxi. For €195 you can take a lap in a BMW sponsored M5 for the track with a professional driver. I would want to try it out to see what I could learn from the professional driver before taking my shot at it.

Some Interesting Facts about those M5 “Taxis”

  • Tires changed every 10 Laps
  • Brake Pads Changed every 20 Laps
  • Suspension Changed every 50 Laps
  • Cars Changed Annually
Ferrari California – Anderson Germ...

Ferrari has really changed up their line up over the past year, with the California and 458 being the sexiest of the bunch. Anderson is one of the premiere tuners out of Germany, always able to get a little bit more out of the car. With an ECU reflash and a tri-mode stainless steel exhaust system they managed to get an extra 55 horsepower out to beast up to 515 bhp.

The pipes are built with a special valve that can be adjusted depending on how much of a menace to society you feel like at that particular moment. The company also bolted on a set of 21-inch wheels up front and 22-inch rollers out back and installed a new suspension control module that can allow the car to be lowered up to 1.3 inches.

Lamborghini Estoque...

Most supercar companies that have been around for a while try to diversify the amount and types of cars they have. Adding a four door has to happen for them, I think it would be fantastic and this car looks amazing. I don’t they should make an SUV but a four door Lamborghini has to happen if it looks like this.

Rumors are always afloat about this car, but the latest one has got people talking. Lamborghini “will import its super luxury four-door sedan, Lamborghini Estoque to China for local production in 2012 with a price tag of around 4 million yuan ($589,000).” The target will be the Aston Martin Rapide, but I think the Rapide can’t compete with the Esqotue on looks or quality. The interior of the car reminds of the Air Force F117A Stealth Fighter from the Gulf War, it looks like a machine with stealth fighting capabilities. This will add a much needed 3rd car to the brand, and I’m hoping that it comes out sooner then later as its an amazing looking machine.

Tire Change @ Hunter...

Friday I had a little vibration as I was speeding above 80 kph in the Landcruiser, usually the car is pretty smooth so I wasn’t sure what was going on. Friday night I didn’t enough time to check out the balance and alignment. I’m 100% sure that the alignment is off since I have been a little rough with the car, and any bump or hole is fair game when I’m driving in the Landcruiser.

So I decided to pass by Hunter to check my alignment and wheel balance, since they are the best at it in the market. They took off the tires on the right side and my front tire had this little bump coming out of the side, seems like I hit something a little too hard. He saw my front tires and said I drive aggressively since my front tires had very little tread left and my rear tires still had some life. After about 38’800 Kms I decided to change all four tires, but I thought I would do it at a later stage but to my surprise he had the tires that I love. Recently Michelin/BF Goodrich have brought in the BF Goodrich All-Terrains which are the best all rounds tires I have ever used, thats what I used while in the states. And they have just started bring them in, in different sizes to Kuwait not just for the H2.

My Yokohama Geolanders lasted a very long time, they are good tires overall, more street oriented and for overall use. But they weren’t too goo on wet surfaces or for use in the desert or dirt roads. Now the BF Goodrich All-Terrains are fantastic in the rain, have an aggressive looking tread but is very quiet, its great in the dirt, and fantastic traction. My original tires were 265/65/R17 but I went for the larger BF Goodrich 275/70/R16 which a bit wider and taller, and it fit snugly in the Landcruiser’s wheel well. With the difference in size there isn’t too much of an effect except that when reading the speedometer your probably going a little slower then what is stated, but other then that the car is perfect. I drove about 120 Kms today without it rubbing in any situations and I was a bit aggressive with them today, and I was happy with the extra traction, and I especially love the aggressive look in comparison to the older tires. After the tires were installed I no longer had the vibration issue and all is well, but I still need to an alignment which I will do later. Got each tire for 60 KD for a total of 240 KD, and an alignment with the Hunter computer will cost an extra 20 KD which I will do at a later stage. I love these new tires.

Some Detailing Needed...

I have had a very busy time over the past couple of weeks and I haven’t had a chance to move my beemer in a while, so I decided to go for a little drive and get the blue devil cleaned up. Being busy with work and spending the weekends by the water I haven’t had much time to move the car, and you should always take a day out of a week or two to drive your car, its not healthy to keep it parked. So after a short drive I decided that my boy needed to cleaned and prepped, so I drove over to Al Falah Car Wash.

It had some dirt spots and some dust since I kept it under a cover for a while. When I first started the engine it sound like music to my ears, and now I remember why I always get a ticket when driving this machine. I always have the urge to drive faster, it pulls you, you push harder, your blood is pumping and it feels damn good. So I thought it would be best to get off the street soon. They started washing the car, soap as usual, then really getting the grime out of the wheels and getting rid of that annoying brake dust.

I enjoy when they dry of the car using high pressure air to get the water out of those annoying spots that spray water as soon as you drive leaving dry water trails. They got the tire and wheel shine after drying the wheels and tires, one guy working the interior with a brush for the A/C and cleaning it out thoroughly. I never get tired of that brand new car look, I love taking care of my car. Al Falah is my favorite one and only spot to bring out that blue shine.

Black & Fast...

As usual NegativEffects comes up with these great videos and this time around for a Lotus Exige 240 S. That car is a bullet of a car, loved it around corners. This is probably the best advertising I have seen when putting up a car for sale!

NOWAK BMW M5’s V10 to 708 bhp...

When the M5 came out 5 years ago it was the beast to fear on the streets, no machine to match up to it. Now even the normal cars are packed full of horse power and any car is at 500 bhp, so Nowak took to remedy the issue. The most admirable thing that BMW did for the M5 was install the beautiful V10, and now its being substituted for a twin-turbo v8. the N635S 5.8 Hans Nowack Edition is taking full advantage of the V10 and unleashing the beast within. They have taken the V10 and completely retooled the engine with specialized components to help it produce a scary 708bhp without forced induction. Now I wouldn’t mind trying out this beast, what a machine, but I bet the price is just as mind boggling.

Optimus Prime in China...

OptimusPrime

A full length 10 meter tall real scale Optimus Prime built in China, looks like they won’t be shown up by the Japan and their Gundam. They went ahead and built this amazingly detailed full scale Transformer, and the one and only Optimus Prime. Can’t believe they made something so awesome out of junk yard cars.
