Taking some time off the internet has left my Google Reader pile up to a readiculous number. I think at this point it has easily gone northwards of 7000 articles to catch up with. Some article I skim through and some I actually read, and I really don’t like hitting the “Mark as Read” button so I end up taking the time to go through them or at least scroll through them. At this rate I think it will take me two to three weeks to catch up with all the articles and its a hell of a lot. I really wish Google Reader had a more descriptive tag then “1000+” so that I know I really am making a dent in some of these feeds, for some sense of online accomplishment. I’m just going to have to keep pushing through until I get under 1000.
This is one of the more different blogs I have seen, the writer’s name is Hoda. She writes all that she hears at her place of work and the statements and work timings I’m assuming that she works in a government entity. I can imagine that she seems to be one of the few sane people there based on all the quotes. Some of the quotes are hilarious and some aren’t but it is different and I hope she keeps it up.

For a while now I have had people email me about pictures not showing up in their feeds, one of them being Google Reader. I just wasn’t sure how I did that, I know its a been while since its been that way. After searching around it seems that I set httaccess restrictions on the folders, but I wasn’t sure where I did that or how, but I recollect that I did. Httaccess is a way to limit people from abusing images hosted on your server, meaning that people can’t hotlink to it or use it on their website while its hosted on yours. I kept going through the wordpress controls and couldn’t figure out where it was, then I contacted Dreamhost support to ask them how come images are blocked from external companies but turns out that there is a control from within Dreamhost’s cpanel that you can do that, to restrict access to a specific directory. I checked within the options, and it seems that I set restrictions to the images folder on my ZDistrict, meaning no external program or website can access the pictures, unless directly on the url, so any feed service can’t pull any of the images. So I have disabled httaccess of all kinds, and tested it out, you can now see full feeds in any rss reader including Google Reader. Now to solve the damn comments problem, which I have no clue where to start!
From the creator of NegativEffect comes The Hot Foot, real life reviews of machines, and vehicles. I love the motto of TheHotFoot “Reviews on anything driven by fuels”, passion for machines. As usual NegativEffects does wonders with pictures, and this time around its no different but you get a feel for items in the land, sea, and air. I really like the presented format of the reviews and machines, its really viewer friendly and very easy to navigate, he already has some reviews up, right now my favorites are the Aprillia Shiver, Honda Civic Type R, and the Nissan GT-R. I’m looking forward to seeing more of his reviews, I bet they are going to be just as fun to read and sea.

I do love when talented Kuwaiti Photographers post up their pictures online, and one of those is NegativEffects. He has honed his skills and still developing it, turning to Apple as his preferred machine of editing and tweaking. So many unique shots and ideas when putting pictures together. I love his talented work because I see the same objects in front of me but I don’t see how he comes up with the ideas for pictures, I will take what tips I can from his pictures but fantastic shots, and recently added to my Google Reader.
He is also the talent behind the Desert Kings 2 Jokers Kuwait that I posted a while ago about, and he is the talent who has helped put together the latest GulfRun 5 videos. A great combiantion of photo and video talent, I’m looking forward to more from NegativEffects, check out his Photo-blog and enjoy.

Just got listed on this new Kuwait Blogs Aggregator which seems to be very easy and fun to read. You can easily submit your blog with image your would like associated with it, I chose the usual Z as the symbol and some really interesting blogs on there. And I really do like the name to Botamba, the blog listing is done through icons on the right, I have a feeling thats going to grow big and really fast, I don’t know how they plan on handling a lot of listings at a later point but for now its a good start.

Now this has turned into a festive Christmas Day, luckily it came on a Friday so everyone was busy with Christmas. To my surprise the streets were practically empty today, most of everyone left town for New Years festivities and those who are celebrating Christmas are probably home or at Church so riding today was a lot of fun. 2009 is coming to an end, this whole December flew by, I have been ridiculous busy with work and family stuff that days were flying by. I still have 6 months of Anime downloads to catch up on, that is probably going to be a lot of work to catch up on but going to be worth it, I have caught up with a lot of TV shows. What an interesting year, lots of ups and downs, I’m just enjoying the weather and riding these days.

When I was reading through ChilloutKuwait’s blog she recommended this blog as something fresh, so I thought to check it out and before even reading what it was all about I was caught up with the photographs. At first I was just looking at the photographs normally, then I noticed the little teddy bear in most of the photo’s and started reading the information, then going backwards to other posts. A project on a daily basis with Teddy as the main character doing volunteer work, connecting with people, some interesting photos, some controversial, some very nice shots all together. A really nice original twist to the photograph idea, with some really interesting projects during this whole time worth keeping an eye on, amazing story & photographs.

Every once in a while I get one of these very hateful people who just want to insult or directly harm you with their words. I really don’t understand why they are like that when there is no reason to be all worked up. The funny part it isn’t a contreversial issue, this person just tried to directly insult me and say something mean. The funny part is over the years I have turned to dealing with them into an art form, just ignore them, its as simple as that. They aren’t stating a different opinion, they are just leaving insults so they are easy to ignore, and the funny part is that they think they can’t be traced because they left a fake email. In this person’s case he was mistaken since all I had to do was an IP Look up, turns up the comment came from Jahra, and through Zaijil networks so I know where to go if I really want to find out. Technology entertainingly works both ways, it even gave me the longitude and latitude so I’m assuming its really close to it. (Click the top image for a bigger picture)
