Confederate – Art of Rebellion...

Im the type of person that can’t stop loving the heart that people put into their work! You have to love it, and this is one company that I really enjoy looking at the pieces of art that they keep producing. The two motorcycles that Confederate Motorcycles make is the Hellcat and Wraith. I would lean more towards the Hellcat because it has that menacing and scary look when its standing in front of you. You shouldn’t be decieved by their design they are quite capable motorcycles especially the Hellcat, it looks good as well as handles really well. These machines go for $40’000 and above. They have the 1950s look to them with 21st technology design and technology, its a great creation of the creative mind.

Riding To Work...

DSC00979.jpg

This is going to be a good day! Reminds me of being in San Francisco when its just one of those days I look forward to freezing my butt off on the bike! Its been three weeks since I had the chance to ride but damn today is going to be good. For those who want to know Im going to be on the Gulf Road between 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

Description:

  • Black Helmet
  • Black Leather Jacket
  • Black Gloves
  • Jeans
  • Black Racing Boots
  • Black Backpack

I dont think Im missing anything but this time Im giving anyone a window who wants to spot me on the road. You might see me or a black blur depends on your luck. Now you see me .. now you dont!

The funny part is that Im not even thinking about work.

Need To Ride...

996BST.jpg

I dont know how long it has been since I rode my bike, but all I know is that I need to get on my bike and ride post haste. I dont know how long it has been since I rode but it feels like it has been ages. I rode a bit I think on Friday morning but its still not enough for the amount of riding that I want to do. I want at least a 3-4 hours of riding in dry cold weather. Im looking forward to riding in the cold weather because stopping at a light will warm things up and now I can wear some material under my jacket which keeps me warm, and the Dainese leather jacket does a fantastic job of keeping the cold wind from really affecting me.

I need to ride to get the stress of work out, to get some private time, and to think about all that I want to think about. Its like restarting your PC. Having it nice and fresh after restarting it, and thats how Im going to feel after a good ride. I don’t mind the cloudy weather, I would rather it doesnt rain so I can enjoy my time a bit.

Daytona 675 Wins IBOTY...

Daytona675.jpg

Triumph went back to the drawing board when they were developing every piece of this beautiful motorcycle. And the Daytona 675 won the International Bike of the Year award and its well deserved.

I love my Daytona 675 it has so much low end torque and the handling on the Daytona is amazing it flicks left to right without any effort. It also has an amazing look to it and it stands out from all others.

And more pics of my Datyona 675 can be seen on flickr!

Washing Up...

ridinsf2.jpg

After a good day of riding in the San Francisco and around the 9 me and Eric headed back to the apartment to wash up the bikes. It was fun as hell riding around all those corners, but the one thing that got on my nerves was that the bikes weren’t clean. So we parked the bikes next to the car wash area and we filled the buckets with water for the sponges. I was using a grime spray on the bikes that sits for 2 mins then we wash it off with the hose and then we go over it with the sponges. It was great getting down and dirty, also a little wet… well very wet. I had a good spray that I got from the San Jose Yamaha Dealership, the sprae parts guys there are great, and it gets all the oils spots off of any engine part, cleans it right off. After about an hour of cleaning the bikes were sparkling and I was happy as hell! I wanted to give them enough time to dry off. We finished just as the sun was setting what a perfect day!

More Gear...

exo700_rivet_red.jpg

I went for one more helmet from Scorpion and some more protection around the legs from Alpinestar. I went for the Matte Red Rivet since I have seen it before and I really think it is cool as hell, and I went for the Alpinestar Bionic Knee protection which I hope is comfortable as well as protective. I could wear it under my jeans. The helmet goes for $200, and the knee armor goes for $70 which isnt bad.

Now I just have to wait for their arrival.

K1200R-Sport...

K1200R-Sport1.jpg
This is the combination between the K1200R and the K1200S motorcycle that BM has lined up. I think they are taking the best of both worlds and putting them together. Im not sure when they are coming out with it, but it will strike down the middle for people who’s taste is in between the two.

Duke Over&Out...

DSC01104.jpg

First off I would like to thank Tristar for giving me the chance to try this bike, I really liked the bike, and I do think its a fantastic bike with all its features. But I dont think its the right time to buy a second bike at this point.  The KTM SuperDuke reacts completely different to the same obstacles that I have tried with my K1200R. Its really a fantastic bike which gives you raw control over this superb machine. It does what its supposed to do and more. You just want to take it on turns, and its got a motor full of toque. Im going to write a full review later, but I wanted to thank Tristar again for the superb service and my next bike will probably be from Tristar.

Ducati S Tricolore...

01_800.jpg

This is one of Ducati’s tradition. They have version which comes out looking like the Italian flag and they mix it up a little with the uniqueness of this motorcycle. I have to say that I think its sexy as hell. Beautiful piece of machinary, and filled with character! Its has the ohlin shocks, steering dampner, and the Termignoni racing exhaust which adds just the right amount of power. There is something about this bike that draws me to it, and it has some characteristics of the old 916 with the taste of the 999. Its extremely appealing.

Friday Duking...

DSC01127.jpg

I woke up to Mark‘s phone call regarding his gas tank, and just giving him an idea how to fill up the bike. I got up a little bit after that, showered and got on my bike. But I really took my time and by the time I got down Mark already reached home. When I started up the Duke the roads looked wet so it must have rained in the morning. So when I asked they told it did. So I got my gear together and I was looking forward to a little wet riding.

I got on the Duke and headed down the Gulf Road starting from Miseela, and it felt like a fantastic spunky bike. And it was looking a bit cloudy so I wasn’t going to be long on the bike. I love how the cool wind was hitting me, and it the rush I was getting. I headed over towards Marina mall around 11:30am to stop for quick hot drink to help warm me up. Marina was packed with people and for the first time I saw that motorcycle parking spots were almost full and I filled the last spot. For the first time I saw many BMW motorcycles of the same model, and Robo’s long lost brother. The parking lot was filled and it was 65% Harley Davidsons, 30% BMWs, and 5% KTM (me).

DSC01120.jpg

I decided to walk over to starbucks for a hot chocolate to warm me up a bit. And after finishing up my hot chocolate I went back to the Duke to continue my adventure for the day. It seemed that KtheKuwaiti spotted me, but I only found that out when I was on the blog later in the day.

As I was riding back it started drizzling a little bit and I thought it would be perfect to test the bike and its tires. Riding in the rain teaches you a few things, I could feel the rain drops hitting my legs, and I could see the rain on my screen its funny. Your getting wet slowly yet you dont feel wet. Its a fantastic feeling riding in the rain, and Im used to it from riding in San Francisco. It was funny seeing people’s faces that a guy on a motorcycle is riding in the rain. Im afraid of the rain in Kuwait during the beginning but not when the road is already wet, but I still very causious with my riding and not taking any chances. But overall it was a fantastic day.
